After may try and error I found out I think that in order to edit the ESN on this phone I need to put it in Diagnostic mode. Does anyone knows how to do that? thank you for any help
View 2 RepliesI have a broken and a good phone that I just got of ebay. I was hoping to be able to swap esn but i am having difficulty at this time I hope that some one can help me. I found many tutorial on changing esn but almost all of them mention the editing of a "sys.esn" file, unfortunately in my sch- i220 it is not there. Anyone ever change the esn on a Samsung sch-i220? I used (QPST) EFS Explorer to get to the files. I even tried directly with CDMA workshop but as of now nothing. I'm stuck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd love to enable the diagnostic mode in my Nexus 5 so that I can trace the radio interface with software such as QXDM, X-CAL, etc... but I've had no luck so far.
basically I'm trying to change the variable sys.usb.config to [diag,adb] as shown in this post for the Nexus 4. I'm doing:
(if you run getprop you see that the correct order is sys.usb, not usb.sys as shown in that post)
However, when I enter this command the phone automatically reboots... and the value is reverted back to [mtp,adb].
Do you know of any 'friendlier' way to enable diag mode on the Nexus 5? For example, in the Galaxy S4 you can just dial *#0808# to get into the USB config menu, which easily allows you choose the DM mode... but I can't find a similar menu on the Nexus 5.
Seems a bit absurd to me that a developer-oriented phone is the hardest one to put in diag mode... I am rooted...

Is this something I should be concerned with? Recently bought a xperia z3+ E6553 and the phone is great but I'm having some minor glitchy Bluetooth issues that I started a topic about but one strange thing is during my trouble shooting. I ran all tests under the Sony diagnosis test and nearly everything passed no issues except for the flash test the flash did not activate during the test. When I was trying to solve the Bluetooth issues i did 2 master resets and even did the repair thing on PC companion.

View 1 Replies View RelatedScanner is very finicky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Tried registering multiple ID's using the same finger. Tried safe mode. Diagnostic test fails (doesn't vibrate) during safe and normal mode.
I bought this phone because of the fingerprint sensor (lots of sensitive business info in the phone), so i'd love for it to work normally.
Is there a way to delete the diagnostics and usage data from the iPhone 4S? If so, I don't see it. Seems to me that if these diagnostics and crash logs just continue loading without being deleted, they'd eventually eat up memory? I have it set to NOT automatically send to Apple, since that probably uses up more battery power. Even after sync the iPhone with the iTunes, the logs are still there!

I use ##3424# and get the option to set Qualcomm USB Settings and enable DM + Modem + ADB. I then plug in the usb cable to the pc and it does not connect to the phone on any of the ports. Adb does not show the device or anything. If I enable MTP + ADB, then adb shows the device fine and the mtp shows the card + phone just fine. Is there something else that needs to be done to enable DM for Lollipop 5.0?

I just tried it out inside so it wasn't automatically hooking up to a cars bluetooth or anything. I believe I was supposed to pull down on the top menu thing to turn it off but I couldn't pull it down while in car mode. I ended up having to reboot my phone to get out of car mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe network mode on my Samsung galaxy S5 device is always set at GSM only. When I try to change it to WCDMA only or GSM/WCDMA (auto mode) it changes back to GSM only. The area I am has 3G network and most devices I see have H but mine always shows as E no matter what I do. When browsing it takes a long time for pages to open because its always at E.
I have factory reset the device but still facing the same problem.
I need to get into the program screen, I want to turn off EVDO. I just need 1X. I don't use evdo at all.

When I tried to swap it today, nothing from their stocks worked but the demo unit worked, but they wouldn't swap it with mine. I understand that it might be a huge problem for me if i cannot get into download/recovery mode right? Seems to me that the early batches can do this but the new batches cannot. Bell must have done something. But what exactly they have done? Is this software related that Bell did to disable this? Is there no chance at all to flash the device to re-enable it back?

So far the only disappointment for me is that samsung didn't include the "Add Me" effect in Scene Mode. I've had so much fun with this effect and I actually use it more compared to any other scene mode. I would like to ask if there's an app that can do the same thing? I tried using panorama to create a "twin" but it simply doesn't work.

That's not happening. Instead I'm prompted to "press the home key to quit Samsung Kies" Am I doing something wrong or do I HAVE to open Kies in order to see my phone's memory (32GB SD). My Nokia N8 would just show up on the desktop...not so with the GS2.
PS. Does using the USB invoke Samsung Kies to open up? I'm not seeing anything on my homescreen except the word "Connecting"...and the little dots that indicate the phone is thinking about something,..but nothing ever happens beyond that.
