Is it me or has anyone else experienced their phone response time going slower since updating to the latest android operating system especially the screen changes.
Also I like to keep my screen on the max brightness but very frequently I find I have to go into the setting to lift the brightness up. It seems to keep dropping down to the lowest level all the time. It didn't before the software upgrade.
so today i noticed that my phone while its in charge which is very frequent, battery life is not good, is loosing battery power, thats only if i use the phone heavily, for example the phone was 62% charged and i was playing asphalt 6 for 15 minutes and the battery % dropped to 51%! is this normal, i am using a stock firmware its rather old, but kies doesnt give me any updates.i got 2.3.3 gingerbreadbaseband I9100XXKF1Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100JPKF2-CL292610 root@DELL102#2i know that im using an old firmware and kernel and i have to update, is the issue that i mentioned a known bug in the earlier firmwares or, do i have a faulty battery, or perhaps its normal and happens to you guys too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung GS2 runnig on 2.3.4 has developed a problem. It keeps loosing Wifi connection at home. It connects then disconnects. It is becoming frustrating and annoying. I have uninstalled all apps and still no solution. I know others on here have had similar problems has a solution been found. I have switched the Wifi sleep to never. I have installed wifi fix which resolves it temporarily but then the connection falls off.

I'm finding this feature quite irritating - is there any way to disable it and just have it follow the brightness levels of the phone?
When I want to manually set the screen brightness (or change the "mode", called "sk�rmtilstand" in Danish), changes have no effect. The brightness bar is greyed out. Also, I have noticed that turning of "system battery saving" (the first of the two options offered under energy saving in the settings) changes have no effect.
I am running the SII with ICS.
i like the screen display nice and bright so when i go into - settings - display - brightness - menu i untick the automatic brightness box and move the slider almost all the way to the right and press ok to exit - leaving the automatic brightness box unticked .but the next time i go to use my phone either to text or make or receive a call somehow the automatic brightness box has a tick in it and the screen goes into the automatic brightness settings by going dim again .whatever i do and however many times i untick the automatic brightness box it still manages to tick itself the next time i use the phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I ended up returning my GS2 today to upgrade to the GS2 skyrocket since the phone was announced a couple days after getting mine. Made the trade and got $50 back since it was on sale suh-weet!Anyways first thing i did was turn off auto brightness. Normally on my GS2 i would just adjust it myself via the notification bar. Well I decided to go to settings>display then tried to click on brightness. Brightness is greyed out and unclickable. What is up with this? I can change it via the notication bar or the widget to set brightnesses from it, but cant go through settings display to change it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.

I have used greenery to hibernate everything I can, but as you can see in the attached picture the Android system is running overtime. I am lucky if I get 4 hrs of battery time. I also have the screen brightness set to less than 50%.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the TMobile S6 variant that I've had for about 6 months or so and noticed a few weeks back that that auto brightness does not work. it stays very very low even in very bright settings, I always have to go in a manually change th3 screen brightness. Is there a fix for this in an update or something because I seem to be the only one with an S6 having the issue although it has been reported for the Edge only.

When I set the phone to auto brightness it gets dimmer then the manual value that I set, but even when auto brightness is on I can still move the brightness slider and it affects the screen brightness despite it being in auto brightness mode.
I would like to know by how much percent does the screen get dimmer in auto brightness mode compared to what's set manually via the brightness slider?
I have started getting a problem with the auto brightness switching itself off.
I keep switching it back on and then after a periods of time... Can't be specific but when I come out of an app or having been watching a video and go back to the homescreen it's really bright and the auto setting is off again.
Yesterday I let my battery drop to below 5% for the first time, just to see how long it would take. I noticed that as soon as the phone hit 5% it dropped the screen brightness down so dark I could barely see that it was on. When I opened the notification bar, the brightness control was gone. Plugging in the phone immediately brought it back to a usable brightness and the control returned. Is there a way to disable this?

I don't know why my phone just decides to unchecked auto brightness but its annoying especially when I'm reading something and my phone just decides to blind me at random.

I have noticed the auto brightness is too low in many situations. I have to switch it manually 3-5 times a day. Is there a way to increase the baseline brightness?

If I hold it next to a lamp the brightness will increase, as expected, but when I turn off the lamp and the room is pitch dark, the screen brightness remains the same no matter how long I wait. However if I turn the screen off and on the brightness have decreased.
The light sensor is working. I have tried to adjust the slider in whatever position and been digging through the display settings with no luck.
I come from a Nexus 5 and I'm new to Samsung. It is NOT the edge model.
OK, so I just go the Galaxy S5 and while setting it up I have tried to adjust the brightness of the notifications panel (it's so bright I can only see the color of the battery power icon). I have gone into settings and have not been able to adjust it. When I go into the Setting panel I select the Notifications panel button and all it has is a check mark for Brightness adjustment, that's it nothing else. How can I adjust this?

Running the stock ROM/kernel, even on full britghtness, the screen can go brighter unless the light sensor detects a high ambient light. I am wondering if its possible to change this.
Currently means PWM is still active on the screen even on full brightness. Same with the note 4 but this was not the case with previous samsung devices. PWM on full brightness is a deal breaker for me so I need to know now or this phone is being sold.
I love how the s6 gets extremely bright in direct sunlight with the auto brightness boost, but I wish there was a way to have this boost whenever I wanted.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSeveral times now, I've noticed that my screen brightness is changing by itself, making it either 0% or 100% bright. I'm on T-Mobile, if that makes a difference.
I start on Auto Brightness and then move the slider to where I want to keep the brightness (thereby unchecking the Auto option), and then let my screen turn off. When I turn my screen back on, once in a while, the brightness will either be turned all the way down or all the way up. This is particularly unnerving during the day, when 0% brightness makes it look like my phone isn't turning on, and at night, when 100% brightness is practically blinding.
So I've just found that I have lost all the controls on my Samsung Galaxy S5 whilst playing videos in the video player.Normally whilst playing a video, a simple tap on the screen you can pause, seek, rewind, screenshot, and adjust brightness volume and play speed.These options are now all totally gone, like they never existed. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my newly purchased yesterday Galaxy S6 Edge for Verizon and auto-brightness is turned off. However, when I go into a dark environment my phone screen dims itself even though the auto feature is turned off.
When in a dark environment I can can hit the phones camera sensor with a flashlight and the screen returns to full brightness. When the screen is then locked and unlocked again it will return to the dim setting.
Extremely frustrating considering how beautiful the S6 Edges screen is. Wondering if there is a fix I can do now, waiting for an OTA update, or just return the phone and get something else.
When I get on my S6 at night when it's dark, it always seems so bright. I discovered that when I disable auto brightness I can turn the brightness down to a more comfortable level. Outside of this one use case, auto brightness works fine for me. Is this normal? Is there a way to make auto brightness go more dim when it's really dark?
