The phone says you can configure email for most accounts in a few steps . So I typed my user name and password and this is what I get Setup Could Not Finish, Incorrect username or passord. I tried this tons of times, I am entering it all correct.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs a novice SG S2 owner I would be grateful for the opinions of more experienced SG S2 users as to what the battery life should be for someone who's a low user of the phone and its applications?
For example how long should a full battery charge last for someone who makes very few calls and receives very few calls per day sends less than 10 texts per day and receives less than 10 texts per day, plays no games and surfs the internet very infrequently and plays music very infrequently? In other words the phone spends more time on standby than it does in actual operation.
I've just been reading in Android Magazine (a very good read) that I can edit my User Dictionary by going to:
Menu | Settings | Language & Keyboard | User Dictionary.
Except I can't as "User Dictionary" does not appear under "Language & Keyboard". I presume Samsung have moved it somewhere else. Does anyone know where?
When i pull down the notification shade at the top it only has the settings icon and the select icon menu and i have the 5.0 lollipop update.

I restored old settings from a backup re Desktop Manager, but now there are messaging problems. One, my setup folder doesn't have an e-mail setup option. Two, in "Email Reconciliation" option, only chloice I have is to change the e-mail account on "Message Services" drop-down. Related to that, if I'm in "messages," my Options screen lacks "Reconcile Now."

I have a Samsung s5 and I am not able to get my spam aka junk mail, I see the folder but when I click on it i get a messaging saying that i may have emails that have not yet been retrieved from the server, although i can get them from my laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've only had my SGSII a week or so but have been very unimpressed with the battery life I've been achieving - not even a full working day.I've been trying to work out what's going on, but this morning things really seemed to come to a head. I'd charge overnight but within an hour and a half of disconnecting the phone almost half the charge had gone & the back of it felt very warm to touch.
Looking at the battery stats and using the Watchdog program it looks like the Samsung Email app is to blame. I also saw the phone was marked as 'awake' much of the time, presumably due to a partial wakelock from the Mail app (battery history in Gingerbread doesn't seem to actually have partial wakelock as a category but this certainly looks like it). I've got three accounts setup in it - 2x Microsoft Exchange and 1x IMAP. Refresh times were initially push (MSEx 1)/manual (MSEx 2)/15 min (IMAP). I've tried changing them all to 15 min or to manual but it doesn't seem to improve matters. In case it is of relevance, the MSEx ones are imposing device & storage encryption as part of their policies (I've no choice in this).
I am very happy with the galaxy s2 but I can't seem to be able to see all my yahoo mail folders. is this a known issue? someone said you need to install "Yahoo! Mail for Android" but then I have two apps for yahoo mail, how do I disable/uninstall the seeded app so I can correctly identify "unread" mails which is not possible when the seeded app is still running.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just got my Galaxy SII and i am trying to access my imap account on the virgin server. I have set up the account but when I try to synchronise, the samsung seems to go into a loop and although it says it is synchronising it justs runs for hours without any end result. There are quite a lot of e-mails on the server but they are all labelled as read except for the most recent dozen so I hope that the phone is not trying to download them all.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy friend had his Galaxy S5 set to unlock with a fingerprint, however yesterday the strangest thing happened. It no longer asks for a fingerprint, it goes directly to the alternate password. I would like to clarify again that its not that it does not accept his prints like happens to a lot of people, it simply does not give the choice to use them. Now I don't know if he forgot his password or the phone wont accept it (like he claims) but he can't use the alternate password to log into the phone. He is completely locked out. As a last case resort I will back up whatever I can using my computer and reset it to factory defaults.
As a final note I've tried the google device manager to reset the password, his S5 does not appear on his account. I expect that is because it is not a gmail account but a school account using google apps.
I have a Galaxy S2 in and exchange 2010 server organisation. All syncing works great contacts tasks calender etc.When configuring i received a mail saying i could send sms messages from my outlook client on my desktop.
All my sms's I receive on my phone show in the inbox of my outlook, (So that part works).When trying to send an SMS from my outlook(Desktop PC) it gets to my galaxy s2, in the mail outbox but doesnt send.why is the text message in outbox on phone and not messaging outbox?If i go into the mail outbox on the phone and try to send it manually it still doesn't send.not sure where to look to solve the issue. (Phone settings or exchange settings)?
The SG-II's built-in mail app has a most annoying "feature":it obviously marks mails that it downloaded as read on the POP server. I would prefer to have them still left as "unread", so when I access my account via Outlook later, they would be downloaded there as well. I realize, that this would mean that I have to re-read them (or mark them as read) again but I would prefer to have ALL my mails in Outlook as well. Currently, if I read my mails via the SG-II but want to keep one of them also in Outlook (e.g for archiving purposes), I have to resend the mail to my second account (which is only polled by Outlook). I find this is most stupid and annoying!
PS.: I do NOT want to switch to IMAP for other reasons and my POP account has worked as I described with Windows Mobile before, so I don't see, why I can't have that same behavior with my Andorid device.
The title pretty much sums it up - I have a client with a BB 8830 which isn't receiving e-mail from one single other person in their organisation (Unfortunately it's their assistant - the most important person for them to get e-mail from!). The e-mail system is a hosted exchange system, and they're set up with BES. They receive all of the e-mail fine in Outlook, but for some reason they're just not getting it on their Blackberry. Perhaps I'm phrasing my searches poorly, but I'm not seeing this issue anywhere else on the web. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or tell me what other information, if any, you might need?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning and i found out that mail for exchange is unable to get new emails because my user storage is full. I only have about 15 emails in my inbox and yet it is unable to check for new emails and it tells me synchronization failed. So I checked the phone memory and i only have 116.5 MB for installable applications and 18 GB for phone memory. i dont understand why i only have 116.5 Mb for my installable applications i only have about 60 applications and each is only a couply of KBs from the extras repo and from ovi and nothing from extras testing or devel. i have a couple of TV shows and movies. so what could be causing this and is there a way to exactly find out why i am low on memory and fix it. i am able to get email for my gmail account and aol account.

I bought an Instinct M800 from Ebay and it came with a "user locked password" and the seller doesn't seem to remember what it is. The MEID is clean so I don't believe it to be stolen. My problem is, how do I remove the password? I've tried for hours entering random 4 digit passwords and nothing so far. I ended up buying a data cable for the phone but I can't seem to get the phone to load/connect with Vista, be it a driver issue, or because the phone is locked.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a huge problem with texting people who switched phones from iPhone to ie Samsung or Sony and no longer have iMessage option. My iPhone still recognizes these contacts as iPhone(iMessage). Â Everytime I want to text them I have to switch the iMessage option off (or really quickly press the button 'send as an sms'. , but thats no fun or working well whatsoever). Â How can I 'tell' my iphone that these contacts are no longer iPhone users, so don't try to iMessage them? Â
