Samsung Galaxy S II :: How To Skip Music Tracks From The Lockscreen
Jul 20, 2011
When a screen lock password isn't enabled and a music track is playing the phone will display a little widget at the top of the lock screen with the current song and the ability to skip track without entering the default music application. However when I enable a screen lock this widget disappears. Is there any way to have both a screen lock and the ability to skip song tracks through the lock screen?
I just got the Galaxy S6 which of course is running Lollipop. One of the features I used all the time on my iPhone was the ability to skip forward/back while listening to music (e.g. Pandora, Rhapsody, Music Player, etc.). I'm afraid to ask but am I to understand this functionality does NOT work on this phone/OS??? If so, how can I get around this? I do not want to root the phone nor do I want to be forced to use apps that require me to play music stored on the phone. I have subscriptions to Pandora and Rhapsody for a reason.
When trying to import pictures and videos from the S5 to Windows 8 desktop, I connect the USB and then right click "import pictures and videos" button.
However, Windows goes through all of my music first (which takes a while) before it finds my pictures and videos in order to download.
Any way to tell windows to skip searching through music files during this search? Just go straight to music or videos.
So I've been using file properties and windows media player to organise my music library and after the initial struggle of changing from iPhone to Samsung the last 10 months have been a breeze. Last week I decided to play around with some of the album art for albums that were showing up blurred in my lock screen. After changing a lot with Album Art Grabber, none of the current offending files, I checked to see the results and a few were still blurred so I decided to scrap that idea and with too many to pick through I just simply removed all music files and then but everything back to on my phone via drag and drop as per usual. Then I noticed there were around 40 tracks being read as <unknown> artist and a few were the track titles aren't being read also. Everywhere other than on my phone the tracks are correct and perfectly organised. I managed to get this number down to 21 but for the last week I've been having trouble trying to rectify the remaining tracks to no avail.
When things like this happen I wish I had an iPhone still but right now I would just really like to go back to last Sunday and not do what I did.
I've tried a couple of apps to edit tags from the play store but that hasn't worked at all.
Since I have updated my Samsung s5 operating system to lollipop it seem that whenever I play music I don't get the music widget on the lock screen. The only way I can change the track is by using the air view feature.
After updating my S5 to lollipop, the music player controls on my lock screen are no longer visible. I have to unlock my phone every time in order to skip songs and pause/play.
After updating firmware with V50.0.001 version, I tried a lot to update music player with new tracks but I didn't get any track updated in my 'all songs'. even not in 'recently addad'.
i have a serious issue with my unlimited ovi music account.i have purchased an n8, just 5 days back.Tried to download music using the ovi player, but everytime my machine would hang. Then I tried downloading using the ovi suite, I have tried to download almost 20 tracks (1 at a time) and have succeeded in downloading only 2. Every time it is able to download approximately 33-50% after which it gives an error message "Download Failed".
With music playing, I wish I could jump to the next song without having to go back into the music app and hit next. On my Blackberry I could hold the Volume Up button to skip.
I have approx 590 MP3 music tracks on my 5230 4gb memory card and I want to delete them all and start afresh. I have deleted the playlist but obviously my music is still there. I then tried to delete all my tracks by marking them all and then deleting but I got "general system error" message. Am trying to delete too many tracks at once, or is there a way of deleting them, or formatting my memory card to clear everything? I know I could take my card out and use a PC/card reader to clean but I didn't want to remove the card if possible.
Recently, I have been very irritated with my iphone's music playback because the volume is inconsistent. For almost every song, as it starts playing it will start at a normal volume then decrease suddenly to a common level. It sounds like the volume difference created by sound check. Besides this, doing things such as skipping, turning shuffle on/off, turning repeat on/off, and other minor things will change the volume. the most notable is skipping, which reverts the volume back to the loud version (as if sound check was off), while turning shuffle and repeat on/off only changes the volume slightly (barely noticeable unless playing at a loud volume). I have tried to ignore it for all this time. it would be nice if apple had a simple email contact option to ask questions as well, but apparently they either don't or it is impossible to find, and that ****** me off even more.
I purchased an album in the iTunes Store app on my iPhone 6. When I go to the album in the iTunes Store app, it says "Purchased" at the top, and all 29 songs have a "Play" button, and I can indeed play them from there.Â
In the Music App, the album shows up, and it says there are 29 tracks. But when I tap on the album to get the track list, I see only one track. "Show All Music" in the Settings app is turned on.Â
How do I get the other 28 tracks to show up in the Music app?Â
My E63 didn't come with a connection to the computer so I am just using the SD card and plugging that into the computer instead. I'm wanting to use it to put music onto my phone. I move the music off the computer and into the music folder on the SD card but I can't get the music player to find the tracks once I put the SD card back into the phone. The files are there, I can find them through file manager, but I want to use them in the music player so I don't have to select each individual song when I want to listen to it.
Recently updated my Nokia N97 to newest version but now for some reason I got a quite annoying problem. After the update to v21 I updated my music libray as after the update I "had" no songs for some reason 30 mins later it had fond 2500 tracks I then did a new playlist with Ovi music player and transfered it to my phone. The playlist contained 16 songs but only 8 is showing on my phone and my phone says 16 songs aswell but only shows 8!?! Ive checked the storage management and the tracks has been succesfully been transfered. To sum it up: Some tracks aint showing for some odd reason never had this problem before the update.

I am now trying to convert all my DRM music tracks to DRM Free as from last week Music Unlimited has gone DRM Free. There are a few tracks which I am unable to download and something prevents the songs from downloading. When I hit the download button, all it get is ! sign.
I recently bought an HTC One M9 and am generally pretty happy with it, except for the way it handles music files.
The stock music player displays downloaded amazon files with their full (tagged?) titles, e.g.
B00LVIQY6O_(disc_1)_02_-_Archie,_Marry_Me
if I amend the title it the phone claims it can't find the track *at all*.
It also claims that it cannot find some downloaded tracks from amazon *at all*. Yesterday I renamed one track (it disappeared from the phone's half-arsed gaze), moved the 'correctly' (see above) named track from the SD card to the internal drive and back again. Stock music player (and Google music player) couldn't locate it. So I deleted all copies and redownloaded to the SD card. Still bugger all. However, it could find this version on the internal drive so ... go figure.
I suppose the main questions are:
1) Why can't the phone's stock music player find all my downloaded tracks when they're located on the SD card? It's frankly hit and miss.
2) Why do both music players pitch a fit when I try to rename 'ugly' titled songs?
Does the EVO have the Bluetooth Profile that allows you to control music tracks from your headset? I do not remember what the profile is called specifically.
When I refresh library in the N97 music player it doesn't find new tracks. I have tried deleting files in the Private folder, the playlists and tracks dissappear but then when I refresh it just finds the same 232 that were there before and not new one I've added. I had to do a hard reset when the phone wouldn't switch on and that fixed the problem, however once I connect the phone to my computer in Mass Storage mode and the problem occured again. I have done a soft and hard reset and the problem persists.
I have just started to have this problem after using sync for about a year (so I know what I am doing). However, when syncing music from windows media player to my 6303i it shuffles the tracks, they all come down but not in the right order.I know that you can shuffle music to the phone using the 'shuffle music to my phone' button on the sync tab, but I have not done this!I drag and drop loads of albums to the sync pane on the right and click 'start sync', they all transfer over without errors. When I open the album on my phone the tracks are not in the correct order. Is this a phone problem or WMP?I have checked all the options in WMP and there is not shuffle sync option that I can see.
When transferring a number of Albums to my Nokia 700 I've noticed that a number of albums are appearing twice on the phone - with some tracks in one and the others in an apparently identically named Album. All seem fine on Nokia Music Player.
I have a problem with Bluetooth. Have installed a fast Scandisk 128 gig memory card. and downloaded my music from PC. When i playback via Bluetooth using groove music some tracks have no vocals!! only the music...
This is my first post on this site, so I hope I have put my request in the right location. My company has supplied myself a Blackberry Bold 9000, and naturally I use it for a lot of non-work stuff!
When listening to music, I'm finding that the volume increases whenever you go to the next track. This is very annoying, as I am forever getting blasted with noise, and having to decrease the volume on the phone.
