I'm using a 5530 XM, latest firmware and my message tone just doesn't ring! I have 4500 messages in my inbox right nowand whenever i recieve a new message it comes into the inbox but the message tone doesn't ring. The settings in the profiles are correct, i've set the ringing tone and vibration for messages, but it still just doesn't ring or vibrate.

My wife has an iPhone 4 with which we've been having an issue. If it'd either plugged into Apple charger or a Sony digitasl radio/dock, whilst charging there are no message tones activated if a message is received.
Checked and there's nothing in any settings to indicate that it's a turn on/off feature. Last software update was about a week and a half ago, but this has been happening for 3 - 4 months, through a few updates now.
She doesn't want to do a restore, as it takes forever to get it back to the way she wants it. Seems like it shouldn't be that hard anyway, there's no reason it shouldn't work right just as it is.

So the 'Normal' profile of my 9700 (Phone) is set up to play ALWAYS simply because it is on my desk in the office, it is not in the holster, and I want to hear when it rings.
I also have a ring tone that I downloaded (not the default).I noticed that when the phone is in the holster and it rings, as soon as I take it out from the holster the ring tonne changes from the one I set up to the default AT&T ring tone.
I had bought nokia 5230 recently. I have a problem in setting ring tone and message tone.When i trying to set ringing tone or message alert tone in the Profiles(General) it showing an error message as "Not enough memory to show all ringing tones. only tones in read only memory will be displayed". But my phone memory has 50.1 MB free space and My memory card has 1.2 GB memory space.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the N86 8MP, I can't fault the phone other than the ring tone problem that I have tried to live with from when I got the phone in December. I don't know if anybody else has had this problem or its just me, but when my phone rings the ring tone slows down like a broken record and then speeds up and slows down again. Whatever I chose to be my ring tone either one from the phone or one I have put on it, it still has this problem. The funny thing is you can play the songs or ring tone's and they play normaly its only when you set them as a ring tone does the problem occur.

Now I am having a problem setting songs as ring tones, my previous phone was easy select song goto options, set as ring tone done. Now unless I am being thick I just cant seem to do this new X6 as east as that as far as I can tell you have to go via settings...Personal...Profiles...Options... Personalize.. Ringing Tone. Then yo have to scroll the WHOLE SONG LIST.
Also I have downloaded songs via Nokia and I can't seem to use those as a set ring tone(when I eventally find them!!!) says thay are locked. Somebody help me it is driving me up the flippin wall.
so wanted a new ring tone, went into the way apple tellls you to through the setttings sounds then into ringtone and buy more tones so searched and found my desired tone but it wont be a tone now its only playing in my music app

I have checked and double checked that the phone is on loud, i have turned the phone off and even taken the battery out, but it hasnt solved a thing. When I connect my iPhone running 5.01 to my mac vie iTunes, and transfer contacts, it always duplicates the contacts when synching.So if I have a single John Doe entry on both my iPhone and Mac, I now get two.Sometimes it will make 3 or 4 copies.I want to: copy my contact list from my iPhone TO my Mac, and update existing entries on my mac, and add new ones that are on my iPhone and not on the Mac, andtransfer contacts from Mac to iPhone that are new to the iPhone Basically,I have to separate contact lists that I dont want to mix or mesh entirely, and I also want to stop them from duplicating.The User Manual does not address keeping them from duplicating.

I have many rigtones that i have made on my MC, I aslo understand the process of highlighting a contact in the address book & pushing the app button & selecting add custome ring tone. The problem is it gives me two options, (Device Memory & Preloaded Ring Tones) it doesn't allow me the option of searching the media card witch is where the rigtones that i want are stored. If I select edit contact, the option to assign ring tone is not there. Can anyone help?? (PS) I have searched the forums with no luck.
