I just got a new Lumia 900 few days back. It is awesome. But, it has problem with iPhone headphone. I can hear normally but when I was talking to them no one can hear me. (My iPhone headphone is working fine with my iphone and HTC devices).

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my Lumia 920, I've inserted a small plastic headphone jack charm (like this one) and noticed that the audio from the ear piece no longer outputs audio. I'm guessing that the phone thinks a headphone is attached and sends the audio to the headphone, even though the headphone plug of the charm is made of plastic.
This is a little bit annoying since this charm seems to work fine on other phones, including my previous Samsung Focus WP7 device.
Couldn't the hardware be a little smarter to detect if a plastic plug is inserted rather than a metal one? Is there any setting to configure the phone to output audio through the ear speaker even when the jack is being used?
Have been using my lumia 900 for a month. I noticed that there is a white/hissing noise in the background from the phone when listening to music using headphones. It starts right before the music starts to play and stops some seconds after pausing music. There is also a click sound in between songs. I can definitely confirm this is not from music files. If I plug headphones in and unlock the phone when not playing any music, I can hear the white background noise for a few seconds before it goes off. I've seen several posts reporting on the same issue from both lumia 800 and 900 (search white noise in the forum). It is very annoying! In addition, the volume buttons on my lumia 900 don't always work when screen is off, which has also been seen by many users. I'd say listening to music from headphones using lumia 900 is a bad experience due to these issues. I like lumia's design and overall it is a great phone. But these bugs disappoint me a lot.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI really have two issues involving the headphone jack. When I plug the headphone in, the volume will occasionally drop to zero and then no longer go up. A power off fixes this. A second thing I discovered is that sometimes the microphone does not work after plugging in my headphones. I first noticed this when I was trying to use the speakerphone in my car with the line out through my stereo.I started using voice control and I noticed that the microphone was not picking up any sound. I could tell this because of the visual waveform display.

I've tried out the headphones out on different iPhones and they work so it's not the headphone itself. I've had this problem for around 6+ months now I attempted the trick where you get a paper clip and get all the fluff out of the jack however it came to no avail. What is left for me to do? Well the other day I went to use my new headphones on my iPhone4 and the sound was terrible. The sound is distorted and crackly, to get the other speaker to go on I have to put the volume at 100% and that makes my ears bleed lol. I plug the headphone in my computer and they worked fine. I tried another set of headphones on my iPhone and Only sound would come out of one speaker. Same thing happens if I plug it into a stero. Im freaking out bacuse my iPhone is my baby and I have no idea what happen. I have already restored the phone and restarted the device multiple times and still nothing is working.

However, this function does not work and pressing the skip forward or back buttons only turns the volume up or down. I have actually tried several different brands of headphones and experienced the same issue.
So far I've been enjoying lollipop, even with the exceptions ( being no real silent mode) and what I'm about to mention now. I've noticed even when I'm playing in Walkman, I can't select headphone settings where it has studio sound, concert sound, etc. I can scroll through and hear the difference but I can't permanently select it; whenever I exit it, it goes back to none.

I didn't use the earphone until now because I wanted to try if it has a mic and to try it if it works when I call someone. When I tried to test it by playing music in my media, only the left speaker was working. My beats earphone works tho, I even plugged the blackberry earphones on my laptop to make sure if its the phone's problem or the earphones' problem and its the same thing. Only the left side was working. Its so new and I didn't even used it till now.

Do I have to replace the jack? I have rebooted many times. When the headphones are halfway in, the phone recognised them for a short while but then carries on playing through speaker. Have updated the new software, updated to Nokia Drive 2.0 and done a factory reset - still have the same result sometimes get a fix and then it says GPS lost and counts the time since signal lost. Diagnostic feature does not include a GPS test. Have downloaded many GPS programs, always the same - 1 fix and then no further running fixes to give speed etc
