So my iphone 4 is stuck in headphones mode. Can of compressed air works like a charm! But get this: Whenever I blow into the headphone jack, it goes straight back into headphones mode. Any idea?
View 4 RepliesThere's something stuck inside the 'clicky bit' at the bottom of my headphone jack, stopping the 3.5mm plug from clicking fully down into the phone, making the connection to the earbuds very delicate and making it impossible for me to listen to music properly without holding the phone still in my hand, one of my friends (''phone repair expert'') says its stuck inside a mechanism, and that it would require replacing the whole unit, including the silent switch (My silent switch is also broken but not a major concern)The phone was purchased on contract december 2010 so is of warranty, and is also jailbroken on 5.0.1 (I LIKE it that way, @oldwomanwhingers) so I expect the hardware warranty doesn't apply here, so any chance I could be given a vague estimate on what Apple would charge me for this repair?

I have plugged in the headphones and taken them out several times and i've also blown into where the headphones go and it hasn't fixed the problem so I tried rebooting it twice and still can't get it to get out of the headphone mode

So recently my phone has been stuck on headphone mode. I use the Nike running App and had headphones in during a run. After I was done and took them out the phone stayed on headphone mode.
I have did the holding down the home and power button a few times but no luck. I have tried to clean out the headphone jack with can air to try to get any debris out and the headphone mode will come off for a few minutes but later will switch right back to it. The sound works fine when then phone is on speaker phone or headphones are in but it will not allow me to have a normal phone convo by listening normally.
I have also taken the phone to the apple store where the genius guy said I have water damage and I need to buy a new phone for 200 bucks. I refused to believe this however as my phone hasnt been exposed to water in the least bit so I dont see how that would even be possible.

Got the S5 back in March about a week ago my phone went into headphone mode. I've tried all the tips and tricks to resolve it. All except factory resetting and resetting my phone would be my last option. Did the cotton swab, paperclip, inserting headphones in and out repeatedly, restarting, taking battery out, switching to mono and then switching it out.

Is anyone having issues with their headphone jack? On day one of my iPhone 4, I had a issue where my music would crackle if the headphone plug moved around at all while plugged in. Today, no sound comes out at all unless I apply frontward pressure to the headphone plug. As soon as I let go, the sound cuts out. I plugged the same ($70) Sony earbuds into an iPod Nano with no issues at all.
Lastly, has anyone successfully gotten their iPhone 4 replaced at a Genius Bar yet? I have an appointment on Monday. I've also gotten a random "No Sim" error 3 times. A simple restart fixes that problem but it is still annoying nonetheless.
I want record some audio with a better mic, is okay to plug a mixer into the headphone jack using a adapter?

It gets worse when I touch the screen or scroll etc. I thought it was the headphones so I tried a few other pairs/brands, but the same thing happens. I have a standard headphone jack that worked on my 8520, but it doesn't work on my 9900.Does the phone ONLY accept the headphone/mic that comes with the phone? Which is a bit bad, as I think ALL phones that have headphone sockets, allow you to plug your own headphones in them - even down to big clunky headphones.

But if downgrade back to 4.7. Which is what I would like to do due to all the problems with the leaked version. The head phone jack stops working again.

I was on a plane a few weeks ago, put my headphones in and couldn't figure out why I had no sound... turns out all my neighbors heard it cause it was coming out of the speaker... Then when I got back to the US last week, I put it in my car dock and it doesn't send audio to the cable and plays only thru the speaker as well.
