IPhone :: Headphone Jack And Speakers Only Work Half The Time
May 2, 2012
My headphone jack registers half the time, and my bottom speaker only works every once in awhile along with text/keyboard sounds. I can't recall any specific moments where my phone has gotten wet but is this some kind of water damage or just a malfunction?
I have a standard headphone jack that worked on my 8520, but it doesn't work on my 9900.Does the phone ONLY accept the headphone/mic that comes with the phone? Which is a bit bad, as I think ALL phones that have headphone sockets, allow you to plug your own headphones in them - even down to big clunky headphones.
So my iphone 4 is stuck in headphones mode. Can of compressed air works like a charm! But get this: Whenever I blow into the headphone jack, it goes straight back into headphones mode. Any idea?
This just started last week. Once in Awhile my headphone jack will not work and the only way to get it to work is to power cycle the phone, and it is not just with headphones it has also happened with an aux cable. Now this is just a random occurrence Not sure what causes it just happens once in awhile. I've only noticed it twice in the last two weeks.
Are you supposed to be able to see light if you look down into the headphone jack? It really doesn't bother me but I just noticed it and was wondering if it was par for the course.
So I got to work this morning and tried to listen to my tunes on my iPhone and I plugged my headphones in and the sound was still coming from speakers. I've tried three pairs of headphones and tried mine on other phones they don't work on mine but on my friends iPhone it's fine. Anyone know what the problem may be? I'm using a 2g 3.1.2 jailbroken not unlocked.
So my iPhone 3gs, when I plug in headphones, they won't go all the way into the jack, meaning the sound coming out of the headphones isnt what it normally sounds like. also, when i then unplug the headphones, and go to change the volume on the phone, it says that the headphones are still connexted even though they arent.
Is anyone having issues with their headphone jack? On day one of my iPhone 4, I had a issue where my music would crackle if the headphone plug moved around at all while plugged in. Today, no sound comes out at all unless I apply frontward pressure to the headphone plug. As soon as I let go, the sound cuts out. I plugged the same ($70) Sony earbuds into an iPod Nano with no issues at all.
Lastly, has anyone successfully gotten their iPhone 4 replaced at a Genius Bar yet? I have an appointment on Monday. I've also gotten a random "No Sim" error 3 times. A simple restart fixes that problem but it is still annoying nonetheless.
When my phone is charging and I have headphones plugged in I hear a buzzing noise. It gets worse when I touch the screen or scroll etc. I thought it was the headphones so I tried a few other pairs/brands, but the same thing happens. As soon as I disconnect the Lightning cable from the phone the noise goes away
There's something stuck inside the 'clicky bit' at the bottom of my headphone jack, stopping the 3.5mm plug from clicking fully down into the phone, making the connection to the earbuds very delicate and making it impossible for me to listen to music properly without holding the phone still in my hand, one of my friends (''phone repair expert'') says its stuck inside a mechanism, and that it would require replacing the whole unit, including the silent switch (My silent switch is also broken but not a major concern)The phone was purchased on contract december 2010 so is of warranty, and is also jailbroken on 5.0.1 (I LIKE it that way, @oldwomanwhingers) so I expect the hardware warranty doesn't apply here, so any chance I could be given a vague estimate on what Apple would charge me for this repair?
My z5 compact seems to have a problem with the headphone jack. It seems my phone think I disconnects my headphones when i twist the plug a bit. Is it there any other option than to return it? My guess is that its hardware related.
I just bought a new E72, and im noticing something, whenever i try putting in a headphone jack, the phone restarts, and when it doesnt, the sound comes through with cracks, also when texting fast, i notice it misses some keys and i have to type them over,
When I plug my head set in to the phone, it does nothing.(i.e. will keep playing audio out of the speakers) Here is where it gets weird , when I upgrade from 4.7 to the leaked 5.0 the headset jack works perfectly. But if downgrade back to 4.7. Which is what I would like to do due to all the problems with the leaked version. The head phone jack stops working again.
Tried multiple headphones and use aux inputs in two cars for pandora stream. After 1 year of use sounds only comes out of one speak. I can fiddle with jacks and it does work if but I have to lean the phone on the jack for consistancy.
I am having the same issue as many people with the fingerprint scanner. But I found a new issue over the weekend. My headphone jack doesnt work to listen to music. When I plug it in, I can hear that little click in the headphonebut when I go to play music it just plays it through the phone speaker.
My headphone jack stopped working mysteriously after I updated my phone to Motorola's latest software. Please see post by shawnsinclair - I am having same problem. I have tried restarting phone multiple times, tried various sets of headphones, brought it into Sprint store for troubleshooting, taken out battery for longer than 5 minutes, etc. I am very dissapointed that Motorola has said they will not send me another phone while investigating the problem with this one
My xperia z3+ doesnt shows the headphone icon in the notifaction icon bar.....i am using the headphone that came with it..It shows smartconnect icon on plugging the headset firsttime and when you dont assign any event for that it doesnt shows any icon on plugging in..Check the snapshot for xperia sl( showing headphone icon) and xperia z3+ (showing smartconnect icon) with the same headphone.
My phone (lumia 800) thinks all the time that I have headphones plugged in no mater if it is true or not. And when I connect normal headphones, that worked before the issue started, it opens Tellme (voice control). I've already tried hard restart but it didn't fix the problem.
I have been looking hard (high and low) to purchase a few headphone jacks for my blackberry bold 9000s. It seems nobody has them in stock or even knows who makes them. Can anyone here help me find a suitable replacement supplier?
I am trying to figure out if there is a way I can enable audio at the device while the headphone jack is in use. The reason is, I am using my headphone jack to record the call to an external recorder. But I of course need to be able to hear the caller too. Is there a way?
Having problems with RAZR and the audio out abilities? I was on a plane a few weeks ago, put my headphones in and couldn't figure out why I had no sound... turns out all my neighbors heard it cause it was coming out of the speaker... Then when I got back to the US last week, I put it in my car dock and it doesn't send audio to the cable and plays only thru the speaker as well.
Maybe Im doing something wrong...connected two different sets of earbuds to the RAZR and the sound continues to come out of the external speaker.Used a set of Skull Candy buds and Senheisers same result with each. Didnt see any setting that was disabled....did I get a broken phone? No headphone icon shows when the ear buds are plugged in either
I thought that maybe this problem was related to the .484, but have since installed a .419 based hybrid (Driphter v6.3) and I'm still having the same problem.
What is happening is I am using the headphone jack with an aux cable to plug my BB into an external powered speaker. After every song, the volume will reset itself to a lower volume. Once I click one of the volume buttons, it returns to it's previous volume, but does this after EVERY SINGLE SONG. This occurs while playing music in Slacker, GrooveShark, AND the BB Music player, so it is not related to the software that I am using.
I have checked the options in the media player, and enabled/disabled AUDIO BOOST over and over again and it doesn't make a difference, though every time I enable audio boost, it shows the popup warning about volume levels, I select the box that says "Don't Show me this again", yet, everytime I enable or the audio boost this message still pops up.
This problem is driving me insane, it is impossible to listen to music unless I reset the volume after EVERY SONG. This is a replacement 9630 from Sprint, is it possible that it is the phone itself? Should I get ANOTHER replacement?
I really have two issues involving the headphone jack. When I plug the headphone in, the volume will occasionally drop to zero and then no longer go up. A power off fixes this. A second thing I discovered is that sometimes the microphone does not work after plugging in my headphones. I first noticed this when I was trying to use the speakerphone in my car with the line out through my stereo.I started using voice control and I noticed that the microphone was not picking up any sound. I could tell this because of the visual waveform display.
After the motorola update my headphone jack no longer works. When I plugin any type of headphone or cable for my car the phone plays sound though the speaker phone. It was working before the update.
