Nokia Lumia :: Do New Have FM Radio Receiver
Sep 19, 2012Seems unbelievable that the phones are not going to have this feature. And yet after searching the web I see more posts stating that they won't. Is it true?

View 16 Repliesis there someone who knows if there's possible to play music on my iPhone or even iPod from an avarage old Panasonic car radio/receiver with USB input? And then just use the orignal white docking cable to USB? In theory it should be possible to send the audio signals through USB...

Does Nokia Lumia 920 has FM Radio? Everybody is saying that it doesn't. Is it true?
View 19 Replies View RelatedLiving in Belgium, not so far from the Netherlands where I work quite often, I decided to buy a Nokia Lumia 800 since it wasn't available yet in Belgium. Big mistake as I soon found out that I couldn't update my phone (unless I created a completely new Netherlands based Zune account), but still don't have Mix Radio (don't know what it prevents now).In a global world it is ridiculous that Microsoft still feels it should introduce terrestrial borderlines and even limit access to phone updates and functionality (they even don't allow me to spend money in the Markteplace).
View 8 Replies View RelatedI own a lumia 800. The local FM radio reception is really weak on the phone, even when outdoors. While other phones such as xperia and galaxy sii play FM very clearly, this phone is grainy at best. What could be the reason behind this? Should I get the phone checked for hardware issues or is the Zune software at fault.
View 6 Replies View RelatedCan this be done? I have tried to no avail. I can only listen to the, weak, radio through the headphones.
View 13 Replies View Relatedi'm totally happy with my lumia 920 black for about 3 weeks now.I did successfully paired with my Kenwood DDX4021 BT (as i did before with my Lumia 800 and HTC Mozart). The phonebook and call lists were successfully transfered to the radio.
Yesterday i went home and activated blutooth on the phone. It showed message of the features it found and seems to connect (radio showed the connect icon) but then just did a reset and reboot.I tried several times. Every time after/while pairing with the radio the lumia just reboots itself.
I installed Nokia Music 3.0 on my Lumia 800 (UK - no branded) 7.10.8112.7
Location - Kazakhstan / Operator - Beeline
When I run the first time, in menu I can find My Music / Radio Mix / Gigs / Setting. After couple of time I enter/exit from the app, Gigs and Radio Mix disappear, and I have only My Music and Setting. Means I can't anymore listen to online music or download radio mix for offline listening. If I uninstall the app and install again, the first time I found the complete menu, but after they disappear again. Without Radio Mix menu the Nokia Music app is not useful anymore.
I have been using E71 for well over a year, but I have never found information about where E71's GPS receiver is? I know N95 has its receiver located under 0 and # so we have to open the slider to get better reception. It would be nice if I find out there the receiver is on my E71 so that I can avoid covering it with my hands. As you all know it takes ages to lock satellite without A-GPS and that's what's happening to me as I mostly use it when hiking where there is no reception most of the time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded the latest maps to my E63, but I do not have a GPS receiver. Is it not possible to still use the maps purely as a reference atlas to browse and if so, how? I can't get past the instruction to activate a GPS unit.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs LD-3W compatible with E71? Some regional Nokia sites do not list E71 as compatible with the LD-3W, while some sites do. Where can I get one in the Philippines? I have visited one Nokia store, and the sales person mentioned that they don't sell that device. Why is that? Is there any way I can test one of these receivers for compatibility?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have nokia E63. Ovi Maps is installed. Have map version v3.01 09wk44 b01MW map version 0.1.26.113.
I just bought bluetooth GPS receiver and have question. Can I use bluetooth GPS receiver with Ovi maps? How could I pair it and use with Ovi maps?
To improve GPS performance, can the 5800 be paired with a Bluetooth GPS receiver? Does anyone have this working and with which GPS receiver?
GPS problems:
1 - cannot obtain a lock outdoors at all or within a reasonable period using unassisted GPS.
2 - using WiFi assist, gives inaccurate location, off by hundreds of feet to a mile.
The 5800 has the latest firmware, maps software, and maps offered. The GPS receiver would be attached to the car's dashboard.
I was wondering if I could use the old LD-3W GPS-receiver with my Nokia 5630 XpressMusic. My phone was not mentioned in the compatibility list so I would like to have confirmation that my phone works together with said gadget before I buy it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 5800 with version 40. When I go to establish a Bluetooth connection between the phone and my car stereo with BT, the phone finds the car audio receiver but fails to pair .
In the phone help section , it say I need to first assign a pin code to the phone and then enter the same number on the radio receiver and then start pairing .
I have looked all over and can not find any menu on my phone that let me input any pin number . I have tried numbers like 12345 and 1234 on the radio receiver but failed .
Does any one knows how to input the pin number . This apparently is not the Sim number .
This is a number we are supposed to come up with and input in both devices
Does the 1020 have FM Radio? If so, how would one access it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDespite trying the various fixes on other threads, I cant get the FM radio to work.
I download another FM radio app (have tried 3). they all report FM radio is missing.
I love the phone but unless FM radio is functioning its going to have to go back.
I listen to football mostly and due to licensing issues BBC local radio are not allowed to stream football commentary across the internet..
Hope we can get it working. If not I'm sure that you used to able to get a fm radio that was installed on the headphone leads. Cant seem to find them any more.
I have this great bluetooth headset I use to work out with and I would love to be able to listen to the radio using these instead of having to plug in a wired headset. I know it uses the wired headset as a antenna so maybe there is a plug in antenna that will still let the music flow to the bluetooth headset?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm a spotify user. In my car I use a Pioneer bluetooth radio player connected to my lumia 950.
I can control the spotify app (play/pause, next track,...) with the radio's control buttons. When I turn off the car, the track stops playing, when I turn the car on, the playlist/track resumes. But this only works for like 5-10min.
If the car is turned off like over night etc. and I turn it on, it correctly shows the connection to my phone, but the spotify app does not continue to resume the playlist (spotify app is still "running" in the background). Even if configured to open the spotify app when the phone is connected to my cars radio player (via gadget app).
--> I need to open the spotify app on my phone, press play there. --> Now it is possible to control it via my radio again.
How to teach the phone to just "play" when it is connected to the radio and I press play? Or just to continue playing when reconnected? The spotify app has like all permissions it asks for... And it seems not to be a problem with my car's radio player, because it's the same story when testing with my bose soundlink...
Is there a way of turning off Tune in Radio short of shutting your phone off or throwing it against a wall because so far I haven't been able to find it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an icon running the developers 8.1.... So I am trying to stream radio stations on tunein radio and it works terribly. When the stream doe actually play it will stutter and skip, it will do that for a few seconds and then just go into a buffering loop. I even tored different streams of the station and got pretty much the same results. My signal is fine, I have full LTE so speed isnt not the problem. Also its just tunein radio....youtube Pandora and mix radio work fine.
This is an app I used a lot on the android phone and Id really like to be able to use it on the widows phone too but right now its absolutely useless.
After the recent mix radio update, while playing songs it suddenly stops and starts working after restart?
View 4 Replies View RelatedPhone was on desk minding it own business I turned on my Bluetooth speakers bose. And the phone made a horrible sound via its speaker phone speaker. Load static for no reason. I went to the radio tuner as it sound like radio static and sure enough as it was searching the static changed.
So why would turning on my BT speakers cause the radio to turn on with static without head phones and be super loud on the phone speakers. The only way I could stop the sound was to power the phone off.
Nokia Icon received last week from Verizon. I generally like the phone and am excited about using it since I am a Windows user and want to take advantage of using my phone with Windows PC. Heard great things about this phone and wanted to try it after years of Android use. I have heard complaints about lack of apps but I am not an apps user except for the most basic ones. My problem is more with connecting to other devices. After receiving phone, downloading updates to installed apps out of the box, I have had problems with connecting/staying connected to WiFi. Had to reboot phone to get any recognition of networks. Working better now. Bluetooth is the current problem.
Phone does not recognize radio. Just searches and searches. Talked to both Verizon and Alpine Stereo. Alpine says I need to update a file since the head unit is four years old. Took Icon to my wife's brand new Escalade and it will not recognize it either. Just searches away. So, four year old or brand new units don't seem to have been set up for Windows phones.
Sometimes when I unlock my phone I see a round status icon (like a checked radio button) at the top of the screen next to the power, it disappears quickly. Can't seem to find any information on the status icons. What it is?

Checked the forum and did not find any on this post! Ran my battery down to 4% and radio did not turn off. Has Rim done away with this feature? Not very often i have the battery down this low, and i know it is not good for the battery. I just wanted to see if it would turn off. I plugged my phone in at 4% so I did not run the battery any lower. I thought it was at 5% that it would turn off. Is the percentage lower? Or is RADIO OFF gone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI know there are ways to use a GPS BT reciever WITH my Blackberry Storm phone but is there a way for me to use my Blackberry Storm AS a Bluetooth GPS reciever? This might not be a common question but I was wondering if there was a way. The reason is because I have another phone where the GPS accuracy is downright junk but I heard you can use it in conjunction with other BT GPS Recievers as a "band-aid" fix. I do not want to purchase a BT GPS reciever and I had an old Blackberry Storm just lying around and was wondering if I could turn that into a BT GPS Reciever.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB Torch 9810 two days back. So far it was working fine. All of a sudden today morning I realized that when someone calls me and I pick the call, I dont hear anything. If I say something that does not get to the other person. It seems that neither the receiver nor the mike on the phone has stopped working since today morning. Till yesterday it was working fine. When I call comeone, the call goes through but I am not able to hear the ringing volume or the person... After doing some testing, it seems that when I press the "Mute On/Off" button a couple of times, the other person is able to hear my voice for a very short interval..I have checked speakers are working fine, eamil is fine, notification sounds are fine.. To me it seems a H/W issue but considering the BB quality (main reason to switch from Nokia E72), I tend not to believe it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my iPhone 5 for a year and a half. Everything has been great until yesterday afternoon. I can no longer hear calls through the ear piece. The other end of the call can hear me, but all I get is silence. I can only make actual calls using the speaker. I've read all the threads and tried everything, to no avail. My carrier (Verizon) said it would cost $400 to replace the phone, which is utter BS. Â
So here are my questions - 1) Has Apple come up with a solution to this problem, since it's obviously one on their end? 2) If I send this to Apple to get repaired (since I'm nowhere near an Apple store), how much would it cost? 3) Would I get a spare in the meantime? Â
I feel like I'm getting screwed by Apple and Verizon at the same time, and I've completely had it with both companies.
