Nokia :: Alternative Music Player For E52 / S60?
Jun 1, 2010The Nokia Music Player that came with my E52 is not good, are there any (free!) alternatives? How about an iTunes for S60.I have problems with m4a files, and podcasts not being added (or not visible) to Music library (even if the file is there, and I can play it from the folder).

Nov 12, 2012My phone and apps are up to date and yet both Nokia Music and Music + Videos apps seem to be very buggy. In Nokia Music you can't fast forward songs (from what I can tell) In both apps, you can't skip songs, sometimes a song won't even play unless you manually launch another song and then go back and pick the first song. Sometimes a song has some weird audio glitches but other times it plays just fine. Once a songs stops playing, it goes back to song list instead of playing the following songs. I downloaded a free third party player and it doesn't seem to have any of these issues. Come on, Nokia/Microsoft, I shouldn't rely on third party apps to play my songs properly.

Nov 6, 2012I have just purchased a Lumia 800 which has the latest update and find it very fustrating that My music player will randomly pause and freeze/lock the phone rendering it usless until I reset the phone. This happens when I am using the phone while listening to musicThis issue is not an isolated case and has happened to many people with the Mango 7.5 (just google it). Microsoft were apparently investigating the issue, but this was some time ago and since then still no solution.Why does Nokia release newer phones with Windows 8 but dont solve issues with existing ones.Arrrrrggghhhh! my first Windows phone (after moving from Android) and I am NOT happy...Please don't give me a standard response like take it to a service centre because this seems like a software issue rather than hardware and the phone has the latest version already.So my question is,if there is a workaround to this and if not when can we expect to have an update to this problem ?

Jan 1, 2013Since first day I'm having problems with music player. When I click to play a song it takes several seconds to update screen, moreover hardware buttons doesn't do anything. After a few seconds mobile starts to work again, and everything seems well.
It happens with any application that play music (Microsoft, Nokia and mine), and with any music file. Same files where working perfectly on a Lumia 800.

Sep 11, 2012The music player controls keep coming up on the lock screen. I am never using the music player but after some time, the controls start appearing on the lock screen.
I have installed the "stop the music" app and that removes the controls, but they keep re-appearing. A reboot of the phone also doesn't help.

May 18, 2012HeMy Lumia 800 currently suffers from bugs in Nokia Music: you listen to some music and often after 20/25min the volume goes off (sets it to 0) and you can't recover it. If you don't try to restart the phone and leaves the volume at 0, the sounds may occasionally recover at 30 before disappearing again after a couple of secs. I could not find any fix in this forum, is there any?

Jan 24, 2016I have just bought a new Golf R (amazing car btw) but neither of the USB sockets in the armrest or the dash cubby hole charge my phone. Is this because it is a USB C type cable? It is not a deal killer as I usually charge my phone at either end of my journey but it is annoying!
Another annoying issue is that the Media player does not display the music album art but that is probably a Windows 10 issue and might get updated as the OS is updated.
Lumia 1020 :: Won't Sync Music Using Windows Media Player
Sep 13, 2013After being a huge advocate for Windows Phone I'm just about done with it after moving from WP7.5 and Zune to WP8.I can't sync anything using Windows Media Player. I put stuff in the sync list and it looks like it syncs then I check the sync status and everything has "error" in the status and nothing has copied. Doesn't matter if it's songs I own or subscription - nothing syncs through media player. I think I did get it to sync to my wife's 620.
According to MSFT this will not let me sync Zune subscription which is another issue I have - and the biggest issue is that I can't sync playlists period. They show up with 0 songs when I sync using the Windows Phone App. But I was hoping using Media Player might solve that but it's not working.I'm using WIndows 7 on my PC. I'm a long time Zune user/promoter. Right now I can't get music on my phone in any reasonable fashion.
Nokia: 5800 Xpress Music V50.0005 Upgrade Killed The Music Player
May 4, 2010I have upgraded the firmware from v31.0.101 to v50.0.005 and I had the unpleasent surprise to find that the music player is no longer working. It plays only the files stored in the phone memory and is unable to update the library. It shows music files on the memory card that were deleted longtime ago and refresh library does not change anything: always shows refresh complete 0 files added. When I connect the phone to the PC, the Ovi Player doesn't see the phone and even the device manager shows that there is a problem with the portable device (conneced in PC Suite or Media Transfer modes). Done even a hard reset but nothing has changed except that it has lost the applications it had in the phone memory.

After about 20 plus songs or so, the playlist starts all over again from the very top.... In some rare occasions, the list even starts auto shuffling itself even though shuffle isn't turned on >.< It's annoying as I have to keep going back to where I last stopped again everytime it does that.
