May 26, 2010my 6730 classic started fogging up in the top right hand corner of the screen, which has also affected the light sensor and camera. how do i fix this and prevent it in the future?

When asked to connect phone by USB after connected the program recognises my phone but will not let me continue to next stage as it says the device is not in pc suite mode, which it is. Have tried unplugging and reconnecting as suggested.

Jun 6, 2010I am trying to use my Nokia without the data connection but the Ovi Maps can't find any address even I downloaded the local map. The GPS works well but looks like that the navigation application can't read the map unless I search that place manually. If I don't, it just tells me "no results in offline mode". What is wrong? Now it´s just an electronic map, not a real navigator. I´m using the Ovi Maps 3.04 and the phone is 6730 Classic.

Jun 28, 2010I am trying to recover the contact details from my son's 6700 classic, whilst being unable to see anything on the phone screen. I would like to connect the phone to Nokia PC suite and select the backup option to copy all the contact details to my PC. Unfortunately he has damaged the screen and nothing at all is showing.
What I would like to know therefore is exactly which buttons need to be pressed on the phone after the USB connector has been inserted to ensure that PC suite is selected; because at present although the phone is recognised by my PC, PC suite is reporting that a phone is not connected. I have successfully copied all Images etc from the phone (memory card?) but the only way I know to get at the contact data is via PC suite, unless of course anyone knows differently.

Jan 17, 2010I resently bought a Nokia 6700 classic. Before I tranfer al my date from my other phone, I checked my software version. I was 7.60. I check the newest version and that was 7.90. So I decided to update my phone. I made a backup of my data and started to updat my phone. But the update failled. Every time I tried, I go a white screen with the words "Test Mode".
So i tought: "Maybe it is my problem. So I conneceted the USB cable directly to the main board for my pc. I re-installed al software. But still no succeded update.

Apr 16, 2010Ok, I'm new but not entirely stupid (so I've been told). My 3120 Classic tells me, courtesy of the OVI store, that apps do apply to the phone. Yet, when attempting download after sending the link to the mobile phone, I get the same error message - - ovi does not work with the current model. I updated the Nokia software for my phone/model, still nothing.I'm really interested in Adobe Acrobat as an app if that is indeed possible. I did do a search for "3120" and "Adobe" before launching this post.

Jun 26, 2010I installed connectivity cables and nokia pc suite, when I click on connect to phone in pc suite it comes up with usb not recognized and in screen box "unknown device".I have since found out via nokia forum that you now don't have to install connectivity cable driver as they are now in pc suite.Help appreciated.Also this is my first attempt at trying these installs so I may have gone wrong somewhere though I did follow all the instructions.

I have loaded maps for Hong Kong on to the phone, and updated the phone software to the latest version as recommended by Ovi software. When in Hong Kong the phone fails to get a GPS lock despite being left to try for in excess of 30 mins. I have tried setting with and without AGPS, with and without network access.

Jan 6, 2010I am using the nokia 6700 classic and when I select "recently used" to populate the To: field of a text message I get the same 4 contacts every time. It seems to have stopped updating at some point, because even if I select new recipients from my contacts they do not get added to the "recently used" list. This is sort of a annoying, so I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem or found a solution. I would rather not do a factory reset of the phone if I don't have to.

Mar 12, 2010I just purchased the really magnificent phone 6720. I have a problem playing songs I have bought in iTunes with the non-DRM'ed format .m4a.
The player seems to recognize the tracks as playable and imports them to the library alright. But when playing a particular song the player skips to the next after a brief attempt. It looks like a bug.If I side-load my SD-card with the exact same tracks into other S60 devices there are no problems at all. So:

Nokia :: Need To Format N95-classic For Firmware Upgrade?
Jan 22, 2010My first consern is do I need to format my N95 phone memory to be able to perform clean installation of firmware.
My Nokia N95 has very old firmware v12.0.013 19-06-07 RM-159 Nokia N95 (66.01) and it freezes from time to time which means that I cannot do anything for certain amount of time and I can see Nokia logo on my display. It starts to work after but I tired of waiting for this phone to unfreeze. There is one more problem which I have. I have Garmin mobile XT installed while ago and I am unable to uninstall it. I comes up with error message "Removing Failed" I do not want to drag all this problems back to new firmware. I am IT support so as far as I know the save way of rebuilding for any operating system is to format a drive before you do it. I do not like upgrades which may keep prevous faults.
I have found all necessary guids for update but I am not sure should I somehow clearup everything from its memory and then perform clean firmware installation via NSU.Then I am going to use new NSU to install a new fresh firmware. In case that my phone stop to work I can use 3,*,call (green icon) and hold it. Then turn phone on and release 3 buttons when I get prompt for security code which is 12345 (as I didn't change it).
Do I need to whipe out old firmware before new one is installed? If I do please advise how? I just wanted to add that I have made backup using Nokia PC suit already.Also if there is something what I didn't say in here please advise am I going to install firmware right?

Mar 25, 2010Have just purchased a Nokia 2730 Classic, and using my T-Mobile contract sim in it.When sending texts I can not find how to access the smileys? Graphical Smileys are on cos it says Yes in, Messaging, Message Settings, General Settings, Graphical Smileys.I thought you just had to go to the *+ key and hold that down to get to the punctuations, and then press it again to get to the smileys, like on other nokias, but they are not there? Do I need to press something else, or switch something else on somewhere on the phone?
The smileys worked with this sim until this morning in my old phone, so it cant be a network or sim problem.
I have read through the user manual but it didnt solve this.
Nokia :: 6303i Classic - No Drafts Folder
Aug 3, 2010I have bought 6303i classic and it seems to be an okay phone, except one thing: there are no Drafts folder! Is it possible that such a basic feature is missing in a world famous brand of a phone?! I am having problems exchanging this phone now because technically there is nothing wrong with it, but I am not at all happy with the absence of the Drafts feature. I didn't check it when I was buying the phone because I assumed that this folder would be present in ANY modern phone these days! Can anyone suggest any way to update this feature into the phone (I hear there is a separate SMS application that you can download onto your phone).

Feb 3, 2010I had the Bluetooth problem before and got new HW (motherboard). Everything was ok for 1 day and then the phone starts to shut down when it at idle. could take 1-2 hours before it just decides to shut down. it seems very ramdom. first few times it started again but suddenly I had to take out the battery...wait a while and then start it and today it decided to shut down and I can't start it at all. Had the battery out for 10 min but not any life signs when I try again.
