Nokia :: 5800XM Restore - Doesn't Function After Reboot
Apr 23, 2010
I had made a backup containing "Message, Contact, Calendar, Note, and Document" via OVI Suite before hard resetting the device and update firmware to v50.0.005. Then I update the firmware via Computer, connect it to OVI Suite, and restore the backup.
But After the Restore process is complete, it told me to confirm the restart on it. However, it doesn't function after reboot.
It can run software but the phone function was broken (unable to dial or receive call),
I have the same experience with it on v40 and v50 (no matter via PC Suite or the buildin recovery feature), with the restore function not working after automatic reboot. In the other word, when I was told to confirmed restart on the phone, I need to manually reboot it (by removing the battery and start it), so that I can use it after reboot. So I wonder is there something wrong with the automatic restart function after restore?
I have recently updated to v50 firmware. I did first OTA, and then through Ovi Suite. I am experiencing several issues, the most severe of which is a substantially patchier internet connection. The internet connection worked well previously, but now it's a coin toss whether it will or not. This change coincided with the update. The auto-rotation has also become substantially slower. I have tried reinstalling the firmware, resetting the phone, rebooting, removing battery and SIM card, to no avail.
I am very happy for Nokia to be updating the firmware for a phone that came out a while ago, so this is just constructive criticism. I am overall happy with the phone, and all the improvements are very welcome. The main issue I had been experiencing was random crashing of the browser, and occasional random reboot from the phone.
Ive got a problem with my space bar. Normally if i touch the left arrow under and then spacebar u get the search lamp with more symbols now i have to touch them at the same time. whats wrong? if i do the arrow first and 1 sec later the spacebar is doenst work, then got a space. So the Spacebar( more symbols ) only work if u touch them at the same time.( leftunder arrow and spacebar )
i wasnt sure whether here is the right place to put my problems facing.i bought my nokia e72 5days ago.at the begining was all good.till one day when i started using the sms function.the space bar button couldnt work but other keypads were fucntioning well.what might my problem be? i tried pressing hard on the button but it just wont give me the space bar function after swicthing off and on then only it works.
when i turn on my Nokia 5530 XM i get an eror : "Home screen: function doesn't work on this device" . What's the reason of this error and maybe i could fix it on my own?
I finally updated my iPhone to 5.1. I waited so long because of the fiasco updating my iPod Touch when 5.0 first came out. I thought it worked, I was pleased Apple worked out the bugs. Lo and behold, all of my apps and folders disappeared before my eyes. No problem I thought, I did a back up. Restore from back up. Fifteen minutes later, it looks exactly the same. Isn't a backup supposed to be of everything on the system so that if something goes wrong, you just revert back to the back up and either try again or wait for the process to be fixed? Seriously, get your stuff together.
Does anyone know how to restore the In Pocket Detection function? Since ICS update it isn't in the Settings, Display menu. The touch screen is much more sensitive now and when the phone is in my pocket it accesses apps and commands, etc.
I work at a camp and I just discovered that my brown paper lunch bag with my iPhone was wet. Some kid's water spilled in the lunch bin and got my iPhone. The screen works but the home button won't work. Right now it's in a plastic bag with rice to try and dry up the water. I don't have any warranty and I get my upgrade in December. Will Apple replace it for free?
Last night I was playing Angry Birds, it froze on screen so I did the Off+Home reset. The screen went black, and it has not lit up or been able to finish a restore since. iTunes recognizes it as being in restore mode when doing the Off+Home combo, but it will not finish the restore. It keeps giving Error 1601. The phone has not been dropped that I'm aware of, and is in pretty decent physical condition. I was using it all day without issue, and then this happened. It was just updated yesterday before using it all day.
A few days ago my message had lost and I wanted to restore back.My friend suggested me to use the restore function but after it complete, my files such as photo and contact and even new message had all lost. How can I recover back all of my files or undo the restore and make it back to the phone just like before I did my restoration.
My nexus 5 is having screen issues and the screen basically doesn't function due to what I can only assume is a bad connection on the mainboard ( if I press in the right area with the back cover off the screen will flicker and work a tiny bit if I reboot the phone.) My issue is I still have tons of pictures that are very dear to me on the device and need to get them off of it.
When I connect it to my pc (windows 7) it connects and shows up as a nexus 5 device but nothing will appear in the folder. Im fairly certain I have the correct drivers installed as well. So how can I get it to connect properly with having basically no access to the screen?
how come the board express pro app doesn't have a skip page function even though it says ( board express pro for tapatalk ). Because I had tapatalk 2 on the Samsung galaxy and that thing had more features. I read somewhere that it's made by the same developer too.Sent from my SGH-i677 using Board Express?
In the Settings, Applications, I noticed the Double Tap Home Launch function. I've tried using it, and it doesn't launch anything. I've tried setting it to camera, messages, and text...but nothing. Should I exchange the phone?
why my iphone unable to take video, and the camera doen't have any function .. only taking photo.. ohh unexpected .. please anyone could share any information with me... also my iphone often unable to charge battery just appear battery whin thin layer red only...
My iPhone 5s will not respond. i was in the middle of doing a system settings restore when it became stuck on the load screen. now when i manually shut it down it wants to turn back on and still be stuck on the load screen and the bar will not fill up at all... if i call apple will they fix this over the phone or will they tell me to get lost since i purchased the phone second hand a few months back?... I love the phone i just want to forget this whole restore thing didn't happen
is going to have a new function where the screen doesn't react when you hold the device in one hand with a thumb resting on the screen yet allows you to continue to control screen normally with other fingers.I have 57 year old hands that get numb from holding items and this would be wonderful for us semi handicapped folks to see this comes out with all ICS releases, even the original Xoom.
I did some cydia updates, against my better judgement, it worked ok for a day or so then choked while txting. Its an unlocked 3g on ios3.0. I think it was mobile substrate, I ssh'd an older version, a deb file but no luck. Is a restore my only option? I have my old 3.0 ipsw.
I'm new to this forum and therefore I don't know if I posted this right but I have a problem, verytime I reboot my phone the notification flash blinks and it doesn't seem to want to go off.I tried everything: disabling the flash all together, disable in some applications, every possible solution. But it keeps flashing although I have no messages. The only way to get it to go off is to receive a message, this is bugging me a bit.
I tried to take out my memory card, but it stilll connnects without asking. Is there a way to check what app connects to 3g? I dont want to uninstall apps or do a reset. I tried to disconnect it with connection manager but still does the same.
I have seen on the Internet that there is an v40.0.005 update for Nokia 5800XM. But I can't download this 'Over the Air' and in Nokia Software Updater? Product code: 0578577.
I got a Nokia 5800XM with the v31. Now I've been trying to update it to v40, But it won't let me update it. It still detects that the latest update is v31 not v40. My RSM is 365 and code is: 0587678
I understand that FW v40 has introduced some new features like kinetic srolling etc. But also it removed appointments/todo lists from Home screen! What else it improved? Did it fix shortcut disappearing after USB disconnect? Or phone hanging on restart unless memory card taken out?
Whenever I set a place and select "drive to", it always ask me: "Online connection required to enter the shop. Connect now?" when I select NO, it will not work. It can show where I am, but don't tell me how to go to my destination.
I bought an unlocked 5800XM (RM-428, fw 21.2.025) for my wife a couple of months ago. It is actually Cincinnati Bell branded, but we are using it in AT&T. Until yesterday everything was going smoothly until she was not able to send SMS's anymore.
I verified the SMS center #, all other settings etc., but to no avail. I even put my SIM in the phone and I wasn't able to do that, either. The phone was able to receive messages, though. And she was able to send messages on another phone.
So... I decided to use my Nokia PC Suite and Software Updater to check if there is an update available. No, there wasn't, but I still decided to go ahead and do a reinstall. Just in case.
The process went great, no problems, error messages etc. Except a "phone disconnected" (I never touched the phone or cable while the update process was going on) message a couple of times, which the PC Suite said is okay. Until I tried turning the phone on.
NOTHING! I press the power button and the screen lights up briefly, but that's it. Then I decided to press the button a bit longer so that I would feel the usual brief vibration when turning it on. Well, there is a vibration, but it continues for about a minute, or so, and then stops. But the phone still doesn't turn on.
I wonder if anyone else has experienced this bug on the 4s with iOS 5.1 ? I have:
Cellula Data > OFF
Enable 3G > OFF
After a device reboot I notice the battery is draining fast and I check in cellular data settings and sure enough 3G has turned itself back on. I have reported this using Apple Feedback but wanted to see if anyone else has uncovered this bug / can reproduce it. I can reproduce it after each and every reboot.
