Nokia :: 5310 Xpress Music - Default Access Codes / Setting Call Barring
Jun 17, 2010
I have a problem setting my call barring on the 5310. According to 5310 manual, the default access code for call barring is 12345. The problem is the input field only has 4 spaces for numbers so it fails to activate because I can only enter 1234. BTW, I haven't set any of my own security codes yet. From searching the web I have found people have have this issue with this phone and the access codes. They were given various codes to try, but the matter was not resolved. None of them work. Could someone please tell me what the default access code is for the 5310?
I just bought a 5310 a couple of days ago and am pretty happy, everything works out fine. Except one thing, out of 15 cds I loaded up, only one displays the artwork. All the cds in question have the artwork on my iTunes (Mac) and I've read a 'solved' topic here that covers the subject but it didn't work out for me at all. Either using Bluetooth transfer or NMT. Is embedding the artwork in the file the only way of get it right? Does anyone know how it can be done? Or maybe attach the artwork from inside the phone?
Could anyone help me in removing the preloaded music files that come with the Nokia 5310 Xpress Music phone (and no doubt countless other handsets too). I don't particularly like them and I can't seem to exclude them from playing when the music player just going through my tunes (that is when it's actually playing and not giving me the white screen of death).
I want to delete the demo games on my 5310 Xpress Music but the delete option is grayed out and won't let you. Is there a way to get rid of the demo games? I want to install other games and clear up some space, and I have no need for these demo games.
I dropped my new Nokia 5310 Xpress Music phone and thereafter my display is not working. This is the second time I dropped it accidentally. I can receive calls on it -But as the display is not working ,I will not know from whom I'm receiving the calls. As you know I can receive calls,SMS,etc. but I cannot see them. Just using my phone for incoming calls. I updated the firmware recently and it is not useful. I purchase it in India and I'm abroad now,is there any way I can get it fixed? It is just this handset in May 2009.
I bought this Nokia 5310 Xpress Music. Few months after buying the games started crashing. i.e. when I go to the games folder, the phone restarts. Though once when my brother sent me an application that got saved in the games folder via bluetooth. I could open the folder for about 5 sec, before it again crashed.
I have a 5310 which has been working quite well so far but about 2 days ago it froze when I was using it. I put it of then turned it on again but it went of. Now when I turn it on, it starts up, shows the two hands connecting then shows a page asking for date entry then the screen fades, lights up again then fades.
I don't think it is a battery problem though. Been quite worried as it has been working fine and just 7 months old but is imported so no warranty for the UK. If I have to take it to a care centre, I'm also wondering how much it would cost.
My 5310 won't connect using opera, ebuddy or any other application trying to use the internet. I've sent the settings from the Nokia site and everything is set (Access point) and the builtin browser works fine, but still won't let any application to connect. my friend has a Nokia 5200 and the same phone operator, I've put my mobile line in his phone and everything works fine (opera, ebuddy). I've tried everything and nothing is working on my phone it's really frustrating.
My Nokia 5310 says the SD card is unformatted. Which it is not since it is full of music etc and have worked fine in the past. I assume the card was corrupt so I copied the stuff to a new card but same result. Both cards work fine with my PC but placed in the phone, it says unformatted. I have used both the orginal SD card + scandisk card. Impossible to format the cards from the phone as well. I use the latest SW from Nokia.
My Nokia 5310 Xpress Music runs just 1 1/2 - 2 days with approx. 15-20 min of talk and 5-7 sms send/or received (phone was shut down overnight) and no other functions used. The phone is just a few months old. The same thing (more or less) happens to me all the time. Please let me know what is your experience with the same Nokia 5310 Xm, particularly regarding charging cycles. I have it checked by Nokia for the same problem, but nothing has changed. Battery is standard, BL-4CT.
It started after I transferred some data between the phone and my PC (yes I did infact disconnect the USB properly), and now when I try to turn on the phone, everything seems fine till after I entered the PIN code. The screen keeps turning itself on and of, none of the buttons are working and after 5-10 secs it just turns itself off. Is there somehow i can fix this, firmware update perhaps?
My phone was pressing buttons in my pocket and I looked at it and it was in the message centers and it made me put in a number, so I put in mine because I didn't know what to do and now when I send text messages they wont send and just stay in the outbox forever.
I recently purchased a Nokia 5310 Xpress Music about a week ago. It is a great phone, but the problem I am experiencing has to with the memory card. When I try to format it, I select "Options" while "Memory Card" is highlighted but I do not have the option of formatting it. Is there something wrong with my phone? Currently, my phone is V 06.68, which I am assuming is the latest version, since I have the Nokia Ovi Suite installed, and when I select "Update", it says I have the latest version.
I have a problem with my 5310. whenever I'm trying to open applications like calculator, currency converter, installed java apps etc. I receive error message saying "File supportive. nothing to display" and then it'll error out. Just happened suddenly without doing anything strange on my phone. I tried upgrading the firmware but the error is still there. My firmware when it started acting like this is 3.xx now it's 5.81.
I bought a 5310 Xpress Music, and I had a 2 gb memory card, I used to lock the memory card with a pass. 3 days ago my set was stuck in music player and then I had reset the phone. After the reset my memory card asked me the password. I have provided the same password but its not working. My password was 123456 and i provided 123456 after reset my phone. Its not working.
I would like to know if there is a setting to display a missed call.I have just got this phone so I am still learning! Obviously you get a little icon showing an envelope when you get a new message, but ive noticed that i dont get a little icon when i get a missed call. In order to find out if i have a missed call i have to unlock my keypad and there is a message saying 1 missed call or whatever. On my previous nokia phone, I had the icons at the top of the screen to show a new message/missed call and I would like to know how to get this on the 5310.
i was wondering if i can lock my memory card with password so if someone took the phone wont be able to access my log, cntact list, messages, images and videos and i wanna know if there's a way to lock each of them with a different password i mean the messages with a password and the log with another..
I'm using a Nokia 5130c-2 v 6.93 and I'm frequently facing a problem is "out of memory error" while using some games or applications. I had got 22 MB free in phone memory and 100 MB in memory card. I don't think any mobile game uses that much memory so what might be the reason??
Second thing is while trying to use some 3rd party application/software when I tries to access Application Access> Data Access> Read User Data> then I'm able to access only 2 options out of 4 available. One is 'Ask every time' and another is 'not allowed'. How I can add that particular application for 'always allowed' or 'ask first time only' access.
I have a problem in my Nokia 5610 Xpress Music. I can't access Applications! When I enter an application, a message says: "supportive file. nothing to display". However, I can enter some of the 'Applications' from the 'Go to' button in the stand by screen. My 'Calculator' has disappeared from my Organizer.
I am using Nokia model number 5530 express music's.But i am having problems for call answer and cancel also.I want to answer means always i am using my unlock key. Then only i have to answer or cancel. Can you tell me that any options there?
I have been receiving nuisance calls on my Nokia 6300 from a particular person on a particular number. This matter is being dealt with by the police but it is incredibly unnerving and I would like to stop the calls. I know that you can bar all incoming calls or whatever but is there a facility to bar an individual number?
I have recently experienced an issue when trying to call to another country, and the message I get on my 920 is that I need first to de-activate my call barring. I was trying to do that, yet I can not find this option. Is this problem related to the network provider (Virgin France) or to the phone itself?
In call settings there is a call barring function that requires a password? T Mobile say they can do barring at network level if required but do not know what the barring password is that's being asked for on the phone, or could this be an N8 function that is not used in this case. By the way I've tried 0000, 1234, 1919 from other internet searches but no success.
I have just bought a 1208 and the manual does not include the default security codes so I can't change them. Does any one know what the default codes are? And perhaps where there is any doco on any other aspect of the phone - the 40 page user manual has a total of 5 tiny pages about actually using the phone.
I have a Nokia 5300 Xpress Music, and it was running fine for me, until yesterday when i transferred some songs via USB from my computer. The Phone can open my memory card, and open the songs, but the actual music player, which is supposed to read music from all over the phone and memory card, is only reading music from the actual phones music folder, which can hold about one or two songs. I really need it to read music from my card as well.
I have upgraded the firmware from v31.0.101 to v50.0.005 and I had the unpleasent surprise to find that the music player is no longer working. It plays only the files stored in the phone memory and is unable to update the library. It shows music files on the memory card that were deleted longtime ago and refresh library does not change anything: always shows refresh complete 0 files added. When I connect the phone to the PC, the Ovi Player doesn't see the phone and even the device manager shows that there is a problem with the portable device (conneced in PC Suite or Media Transfer modes). Done even a hard reset but nothing has changed except that it has lost the applications it had in the phone memory.
I have a 1 week old Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset running on the firmware v30.0.011 and I have around 2 GB of music in the phone at the moment. Since yesterday, I am experiencing a problem with the Music Player in my phone. When I go to Music Player -> All Songs option, a pop-up appears at the bottom of the screen with the word "Opening ..." on it and we can see the first few songs in the phone displayed in a sort of grayed-out manner in the background at that moment. These would typically be arranged in alphabetical order, so I am seeing music starting with the alphabet 'A' on this briefly displayed list.
However, the issue is that once the "Opening" pop-up disappears and the entire list should now be supposedly shown, I can only see songs which are starting with the alphabet 'S' ... going all the way to 'Z'. I cannot see the upper half of my song collection. Now to make things worse, if I go ahead and double click on the first song displayed now on my screen, the music player plays the REAL first song on my list.
This may be confusing for you to understand, so let me use an example: a. I go to Music Player -> All Songs b. The "Opening" pop-up appears and I briefly see in the background (grayed-out) the songs with title starting with 'A', which in my case are are "A Tout Le Monde", "Another Day In Paradise", etc. c. The "Opening" pop-up goes away in a few seconds and the list now shows songs starting with 'S', which are "Send Me An Angel", "Somewhere I Belong", etc. d. I double click on the second song "Somewhere I Belong" to listen to it, but the music player actually plays the real second song "Another Day In Paradise".
Now, what steps have I taken to try and rectify this: a. I have tried restrarting the phone (note ... not reset). b. I have removed the memory card, started the phone, then switched it off, reinserted the memory card and tried again. c. I have used the Music Player -> Options -> Refresh Library tool, which remained stuck indefinitely with the pop-up "Refreshing. 0 file(s) added." with the candy-stick like scrolling at the bottom ... till after 8 hours I had to press the Stop button.By the way, I also think I know what triggered this ... I just deleted a song from my phone library via the media player only. Not sure, but I think this was the point after which the problem has started occuring.
It's also interesting to note that the all the songs do actually exist on the phone, because I can still go to the other options like "Artists", "Albums", "Playlists", "Genres" etc and access all the music correctly. It's just that "All Songs" list display is mucked up.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm experiencing several problems using Nokia music software. I deleted all of my tracks on the phone via the PC using Nokia music (USB connection). But when I view the music folder on the phone, under albums, I still see the deleted albums, although they are now empty. They are, however, no longer visible in Nokia music. So it seems like they're looking in two different places. Yesterday I transferred a large amount of music files to the phone, and when I got home I found out that the phone wasn't able to play any of them! It attempted to play the selected music file for a while, then just skipped on to the next, etc. Afterwards, a broken icon appeared on the track list.
However, when I connected the phone to the PC, there was no problem playing music files from the phone. Today I then deleted all the music files and transferred one of the albums again, and now it can be played from the phone all right. However, as stated above, the deleted albums still appear on the phone, but not according to Nokia music . As a small grumpy side note, I have to say that so far the phone is not living completely up to my expectations. This is my third day with the phone, after having had a Sony Ericsson k750i for several years, and there are several small things that I somehow expected to be better.
For example, the lack of USB charging, the orientation sensor doesn't always catch the proper orientation, the touchscreen or the phone seems to be a bit unresponsive or slow at times, and I was expecting to be able to use a lighter touch than what is actually necessary. Also, this survey pop-up window on the support pages is driving me insane. It keeps on popping up for each navigation, even though I filled it out already once! They are small things, and I'm still happy about the phone, but they are the kind of things that would make the product really awesome.
