Sep 7, 2011Why do numbers show below the letters in the message field as I am typing? There must be a setting to turn that off but I haven't found it yet.

Jul 22, 2012Woke up this .morning and had 4 text messages but no notification in my status bar but just y.esterday it was working fine I could get text notification. I did everything reboot my phone cleared cache from recovery and nothing seems to work I checked my messaging settings and its checked for vibrate when receiving notifications but it don't vibrate or nothing. The phone vibrates when.I get a call or email but it don't vibrate when I receive a text

May 7, 2012My text messaging has stopped showing the name of the recipient / sender, instead on the list screen I see the phone number, but for some reason the international +1 has been inserted in front. The +1 is not in my contacts, hence the phone no longer recognises the number as a specific person. It is not on all the numbers, just some of them. how to turn this off, or alternatively, to have all my numbers with +1 in contacts?

Nov 16, 2011I have spent number hours on the phone w/tech support. My orig phone wouldn't save my #s to reactivate. I was constantly having to reactivate via tech support to no avail. I am not able to upload photos or videos and send them via email or text msg, but they will upload to FB. I received a replacement phone yesterday. Uploaded and sent 1 photo via text and it seemed to work. Shut off phone last night and this morning when I turned it on it said I need to reactivate. I did it without having to call tech support but just tried to upload and send a photo via text and it won't do it.

Jan 15, 2012Is there anyone out there that can help with this? I have only had my phone for about 40 days (10 days past Radio Shack's return policy, unfortunately), and beginning 3 or 4 days ago my phone stopped consistently charging. I would put it on the charger and it would look like it is working for a few minutes, then simply stop charging. I have tried 3 different chargers with the same results-- one with a USB connection to my computer, one in my car, and one plugged into a wall.I already exchanged this Triumph once because of serious software glitches including a keyboard that wouldn't always type. I am starting to feel like perhaps this isn't the phone for me, but it feels terrible to feel like I have been cheated $300 for a phone that doesn't want to work.

Sep 19, 2011Besides us waiting for some sign of a software update to address the issues with our Motoroloa Triumph, does anyone else find it curious how difficult it is to find the accessories for the Triumph? I mean, it's impossible to find something by going to the Motorola Store for the phone. However, if you circumnavigate the site and search on all Android Phones, and find the one phone for Virgin Mobile (by carrier), then find the teeny tiny link for Accessories, one does determine there is a BT headset and also a car charger. But wait, the car charger isn't even available yet.
It's not good commentary that there isn't Motorola badged batteries and car chargers and earbuds, Micro HDMI to HDMI cables, USB charging cables available for the product from Motorola, when clearly, this stuff is available on eBay. And I've recently purchased a very good OEM Motorola Charger and USB charging cables... so the question becomes, where is Motorola's support for the phone? I propose someone feedback to Motorola that besides waiting for needed SW updates, we could use a little product support in the way of accessories.
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Non-standard Numbers For Contacts Don't Show Up On 2.3.4?
Aug 13, 2011On 1.83, a Contact will show as many phone numbers as I entered for it.But on 2.3.4, if one of the numbers is non-standard, like "*82-1-800-555-1212" (entered without the hyphens, of course), it doesn't show up under that contact. It still stores it, but I can't use it, can't dial with it, etc...Is there any way around this bugEdit: It shows up okay, if it's the *only* number for that Contact. But if there's another one (formatted normally), the non standard one doesn't show.

Dec 12, 2011I have my Atrix 4g with AT&T. I'm having a problem with text messaging. I'm not for certain (hadn't noticed), but I think my phone was not originally doing this and it started about a week after I got it.What happens is that all images I receive in MMS text messages, appear to be the same image. Say I received a picture of a dog from one contact. All future images received, from all contacts, appear as the exact same picture of the dog. However, if I hold my finger down on the image and select "view picture", the picture will display correctly. If I save it to my gallery, etc, it appears correctly. But it continues to display incorrectly in the text messaging conversation itself.I tried rebooting my phone, and all this did was update the "universal" image to the most recent image I received. All images were still displaying the same thing. I've also tried Googling this problem and haven't found anything about it so far.

Aug 6, 2011I am trying to fing out what happened to the ability to select multiple contact to send or forward a text message or email by ticking the "head" icon, which brings up your phone contacts list and then checking off the contacts you want to send to. All I can see is you have to select them one at a time using auto complete in the "to" field. Is there a way to select them like we used to? If not, then when can I expect Moto to send an update that fixes this? This was an option on all previous Adroid releases, so why is not there now? I know I can create groups, but that is just ignorant, I dont send to the same people every time, so groups are a waste of time.

On the original I had the text message notification setup so that every time I received a text message the phone both vibrated and had a notification ringtone. Jan 30, 2010I have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.

Sep 6, 2011i already had a moto defy that could support delivery reports in text messaging,now im on Atrix, my device is international, but there was not any option to activate delivery reports on sms setting,so i installed sql editor from market & changed the value of "sms-mms-delivery-reports" from 0 to 1the option discovered in sms setting but it didnt work (attached photo)also i tested other apps like GoSmS & ... but they didnt work too,i've tested this method on froyo and also othet 2.3.4 roms based on 4.5.91 AT&T and 2.3.4ORFR, but nothing at all,why moto have missed this trivial option in a high end smartphone?this is critical for me & i dont want to sell my phone just for this, i love moto, i love my atrix, but what should i do?

Jun 22, 2011my biggest complaint about Gingerbread reared it's ugly head this past weekend. The lack of "+" symbol in the "to" field of the stock text messaging app.
I wanted to text all of the people in my contacts list who are fathers, to wish them a happy father's day. Unfortunately, to address a text message to multiple recipients, I must remember every one of them, and type in their "letter" individually. I have to type in a letter, then pick one contact, then type in another letter, then pick another contact, then type in another, then pick...I'm sure you can see where this is going. And of course, once I thought I had gotten everybody and pressed "send", I then went into my contacts list and realized that I had forgotten several people, and had to do it all over again. Something that should have taken less than a minute instead took several minutes, and I'm sure I still likely forgot someone!!!
Just who's brilliant idea was it to remove the "+" symbol (that would open up the entire contact list for easy multiple picks) and replace it with the stupid "suggestion" arrow! They should be fired and shot...not necessarily in that order!
Motorola Photon 4G :: Enable Vibrate For Text Messaging?
Sep 30, 2011I would like my phone to vibrate for text messages and all other notifications when set to silent without having it vibrate at all times, is this possible? If I go to menu/settings/sound/ and select vibrate in silent mode it won't vibrate when im in silent mode. The only way for it to vibrate is to go to Text messaging/menu/messaging settings/ and select vibrate(also vibrate when notified) but this makes the phone vibrate at all times which is what I dont want. I took the phone to a sprint repair center and the display model did the same thing, the tech just thought it was weird and that was it.....

Nov 1, 2011I really wish the Photon would display the actual time when an incoming text was sent rather than the time the phone received it. For instance, someone sends me a text at 3am while my phone is turned off. Then at 8am I turn it back on and received the text. But I have no idea what time the text was actually sent because it will be marked as 8am. With previous phones I had it would always show the actual time it was sent. I get the sense the phone is trying to do something else at the same time - like find my GPS. I killed and deleted a bunch of apps to see if that would work and it didn't. Dec 1, 2012What is the size limitation for these attachments? I recorded a 23 second clip in MMS mode which totaled 368KB. It won't go. I had one rep. tell me the limit was 15 seconds regardless of size. I thought I had read on VZ site it was 500K but may have dreamed that.
Or is it neither size or length but something else? And finally is it the same for GMail?
Motorola Electrify 2 :: Text Messaging Suddenly Stopped Working?
Sep 7, 2012I'm probably going to have to take this in to the local US Cellular store to see if they can figure out what is going on. I tried sending texts to three different individuals this morning and all are not going through. Initially I was using Go SMS Pro as my default SMS program. Thinking something may be messed up with that program, I switched my default SMS program to the phone's Text Messaging program. Still cannot send or receive any messages. I am on a business plan (which my wife is on as well). She is receiving and sending texts fine. I tried sending her a test text, and it tells me "Message Not Sent". I had her send a test text to me. It shows that it sends fine on her end, but I never get anything.
Is there any error log I can look at to see what's going on? I have powered my phone off and on 3 times already this morning and that hasn't fixed the issue. Any suggestions or am I just going to have to take it in? I hate doing that because they're just going to do a Factory Reset I'm sure since they aren't too good on the technical side of things.
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Text Messaging - Sending To Multiple People By Accident?
Jun 27, 2011I've noticed that some times when I get text messages from certain contacts, the way it shows up on my informs me that it was sent to myself and X amount of people (and I can view those numbers/contacts if I have them). But what's annoying is when I try to reply to "said person" it replies to all contacts that recieve the message. Now if I hold down the message and get options, I can view the details and open the message/delete the message, and I can Reply to All... but it never lets me just reply to that person. There is no option for it. I just reply and they all get it.
Like I stated before, this is not every time I get a mass text message from someone. Some of my friends have iPhone 4s so I tested it last night with a friend sending out a text to two of us and when I received it there was no indication that it had been sent to multiple people. Also have another friend that does this a lot with his Droid 2, no issue with his either. I'm wondering if this is happening because of the way it's being sent to me (and others) but even if I can see who else it was sent to, I'd still like the option to just reply to one person.Any advice on this? I foresee people telling me to get another text messaging app though which makes me think AT&T/Motorola should really add a lot more features to their text messaging app just incase of the people that would like options..

Sep 23, 2011This just started happening to me yesterday afternoon. All the sudden none of my messages would go out. I called Verizon in a panic. They opened a ticket. A while later I received a message from my sister and was able to respond back fine. Turns out the Motorola messaging app does not like international prefix in front of the number. Now i get to go through all my contacts and manually take out the +1. I tested this on my Bionic, Droid X2, and Droid 2 R2D2, all with the most current software release. OG droid still works fine, I'm guessing since it doesn't use the Motorola app. Also tested and am able to send messages fine with the +1 prefix on an iPhone and windows mobile confirming Verizon answer that it was a device issue when they called me back in regards to my ticket moments ago?
