So I made a dead set at ordering the RAZR from the UK (I live in Russia), but suddenly found out there's no Russian language on the list of default ones. That's kinda weird. Not that I don't understand English or something, but it's nicer to have your native language, you know, anyway, now I hesitate to order
View 9 RepliesI am interested in an export set for Ray selling $100 less than a warranty set but the sales man said there is no support for Chinese messaging input. $100 saving is very tempting, and Ray is not known for hardware problem.Seek expert advice from seasoned Android and Ray users - If Sony really did not preinstall Chinese as one of the list of languages to choose for messaging input, then is it easy to get it installed by updating to the latest software from Sony Ericsson website from my region? Or need to buy a messaging app for Chinese with the language built into the app from the Android Market? Or must root the device in order to re-install the OS used for this East Asian region?

I even checked the online gallery on the Verizon site and that has no photos in it. Where did it sent the picture? It is not in the gallery, it is not on the SD Card, it is not in Handcent's download folder, not in the default DCIM or download folders on the phone.

I would like to way to know which of the stock apps can be added to the list. I have noticed that my battery usage for idle phone in the range of 30-35% (which I believe a bit high). May be the default apps I already have added to auto-kill are required by motoblur and hence started automatically, thus causing a loop.I have installed only 3 apps uptill now so i am sure they arn't causing this problem

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just 'upgraded' from my trusty DroidX to a Droid Razr Maxx HD (what a mouthful).The new device has a nice screen but (apart from the backside) the overall finish / design is nowhere near as elegant as the DroidX. Sigh.My question is this: on my old trusty DroidX the external SD card that came with the device was already pre-configured as the default location for all app data (I'm not talking about the app executables), the camera storage (/DCIM etc), music and my own files (text, excel, pdf etc). On the new Razr Maxx HD there is an internal 'SD Card' (how can an SD Card be 'internal'?!?) and this is the default location for all data files.
After some snooping around I found that the internal 'card' is at /mnt/sdcard and the external card is at /mnt/external1. How does Verizon/Motorola expect a consumer find out this or work with this information?Of course, I can go into camera settings to re-point the camera to store photos on the (real) external SD card. But the screen capture utility (power and volume down) still writes to the internal area - as does the Download capability (ie from email) - and as do all other apps for their 'data' files (remember, I'm not talking about the apps executable files here).Is there a simple way (for us non-rooted phones) to set the true external SD Card as the default destination for all data files? The current set-up is sooo frustrating. I can't just whip the SD card out of the phone and know all my data is in this one place.
I am with Verizon and have the Razr Maxx. Using the default text app I am sending out texts to friends who almost always respond quickly.
However, I am noticing that a lot of them are not replying. Sometimes they get them, sometimes not. I ask them to reply so I can make sure they got the text, but no reply. If I text my wife, she recieves the text ok and replies to my phone. The text messages sent show a "sent" status.
Anyone know of a web site that lists Smart Actions that folks have created? Seems to me that this would be a great thing to share. I can see where the Smart Actions app could be very useful.

I have selected first name first from the menu in > contacts in both fields but without success. It only changes the "me" profile. View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I had 1 default ring tone. It was an MP3 snippet and it worked on any contact set to default ring tone or to an unrecognized call. No issues.ast week I changed this default ring tone to be a different MP3 snippet.What I am finding is that any contact that is set to 'default ring tone' now plays a Motorola electroni telephone ring sound instead of the new default ring tone.Im looking for a way to correct this globally. What I have done in the mean time is edit a contact, change the ring tone to something else then back to default and it works from that point on.

Recently my SD card got full while I was taking pictures, and so the new saved pictures were moved automatically to the internal memory. Now, each time I take a photo or a video, it is automatically saved to a "DCIM" folder in the device storage (the photos taken with the Facebook app are saved in the same folder too).Since the folder changed, I have problems with camera apps like the default camera app, the facebook camera app or the paper camera app. They freeze each time I try to take a picture.I also have a problem with the gallery app, which cannot upload (display?) the photos and videos I took anymore. It is refreshing, but nothing shows up.I would like to restore the default gallery folder in the SD card, so that each time I take a photo or a video, it is saved in my SD card.
