Sep 20, 2012My wife replaced her Droid 2 with a Droid Razr M last week. When I activated the phone for her I discovered there is no toggle option to move any Apps from internal storage to the SD Card. This is usually found by going to Settings-Manage Apps-Download-App Info as a toggle "Move to SD Card/Move to Internal Storage". I went to Motorola's chat and exhausted their knowledge base and was then directed to a phone support number. After talking with a level 1 and level 2 help persons, they synched into my wife's phone and then compared a Razr M on their end. They finally admitted that the move option does not appear in the Razr M version of ICS. This is a critical omission considering the limited size of the Razr M internal storage.I was told by the level 2 that there might be Apps available to fix the problem. I tried App2SD but found it directed me back to the missing toggle.Is this true of all Razr M phones or is it a bug in the software of only a few? In either case, is there a service patch available to correct it?

Jan 20, 2013I don't care if its not an HD resolution display, or if some apps are not compatible because of the Intel Chip.But I can't really buy a Razr I if I will not be able to install/move apps to the SD card, I can't have only 5Gb for Apps! Specially now that some apps/games can take around 600mb-1gb of space. I know some apps need to be on the internal memory, but most not.
So my question is, will this be addressed with the Jelly Bean update? If so, I think this is the phone for me, if not I guess I'll have to keep looking for another one.
Motorola Droid Razr :: Move Data Files In File Manager With ICS?
Jul 5, 2012I received the 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OTA update for my Droid Razr on Tuesday morning July 3, 2012. The install was uneventful. One feature of the previous operating system I use frequently is File Manager. I noticed that after the OTA update to ICS that the feature to "Move" does not work, or at least doesn't allow me to move files from Internal Storage to the SD Card. I searched the Forums and didn't find any discussions about File Manager not working the same in ICS as it did in Ginger Bread. I read the numerous marketing guides and preparation documents that were published on the Motorola Razr website and didn't read anything about File Manager changing. I downloaded the new Razr Operating Guide for ICS and found no discussion about File Manager being different.
I tried Motorola Live Chat and ended up getting referred to Level 2 Tech Support. I have powered the device off and on numerous times in the last 48 hours. I have also done a Power + Volume Down restart but the Move option is still not working. Specifically, I can select a file from a folder in Internal Phone Storage and select Move. I can press the Back arrow-key but as soon as I am back at the File Manager main screen (so I can select SD Card), the option to Move disappears. If I press SD Card (like I did before with Ginger Bread) the Move button does not reappear at the bottom of the page.

Nov 27, 2011I got my Razr on November 12th and I have only had one issue with the phone so far. My screen will not auto-rotate when I move the phone.If I open an app or watch a video that is in landscape it till rotate, but when I close the app/video the screen will not rotate back.I have to turn off the screen, rotate the phone and the unlock the phone to get the screen to rotate.I have my display settings set to auto-rotate.I have this issue using Blur launcher, GoLauncher, and ADW.

Mar 19, 2012What I finding is happening is that images (captured with the camera in the DCIM folder) and MP3s are being removed and placed into the LOST.DIR folder of the SD Card (internal memory isn't a problem). For example, the most recent occurrence was where by I copied on 4GB of music onto the phone and then a short time later after disconnecting the USB cable, I found that quite a number (2.7GB) of the files disappeared into the LOST.DIR folder.
I verified that the files were the orignal MP3's by changing the extension of the files to .mp3 and was able to play the file. Other times I've taken a photo with the camera and saved the JPG on the SD card, a few days later the file disappeared. The problem has occurred on Android version 2.3.5 and even now after updating to 2.3.6. I don't have any 3rd party music or photo apps. The SD Card is a 32GB Kingston class 10 card which I formatted in the phone before copying any data to it.

Jun 6, 2011my sister has the last remaining pics of our father on her AT&T Razr just prior to his death in 2008. She no longer has phone service to this phone nor does it have a memory card. I went to RadioShack and was told that using this "Gigaware"~ 'USB-A Male to Mini USB-B Male retractable Cable'I wouldn't need to install a driver or program to download the photos. My PC recognized the Motorola but that's all it does. I have tried searching online for a program/driver to use but am hitting dead ends. Its all so ambiguous to me. I tried using Motorola's Media Link for Windows--a dead end.i have tried BitPim as well -another dead end.One more thing, I too have an old Razr through VERIZON (no longer in service) which is the one i have been using as a guinea pig. My sister had used AT&T on her Razr. Does that matter much in re to downloading? Is Verizon's phones more protected than others?

Oct 26, 2011I am wondering about the speed potential of the Razr. I am not to concerned about having 4g at this time, my primary use of my current Droid (D1) is so I can have my photo albums with me and organized the way i need them to be (that's why I will not get an Iphone) when I go to conventions as I need to be able to go through them with vendors. My current issue with the D1 is its slow response time when going through the albums and apps, how do you think the Razr is going to perform when dealing with photo albums and opening and closing pictures in a quick manor. The lagging is irritating when most of the vendors I deal with have Iphones and can go through the pictures a lot quicker then I can.

So, when we got her new phone, I put that microSD card into it. The phone found the music instantly, but it did not find any of the photos on the microSD card. I was able to find the photos on the card through the file explorer app on the phone located in a DCIM folder, but I cannot figure out how to get the phone to "see" and upload them to the phone's library.

Feb 8, 2012Several weeks ago, I installed Blackberry Desktop software on my PC. In the process, I inadvertently upgraded to release 6.0 Device software. Hated it. Found instructions on line to remove it and download 5.0 again. Now I am unable to copy pictures, taken since then, from my BB to my PC. Before installing the desktop software, I did this manually using Windows software. Now Windows can't see any pictures I took after the device software change. I also can't find them using the BB Desktop Manager. how I can fix this so I can find these pictures and move them to my PC?
