This is my first post and I'm not too familiar with the cell phone industry, so bear with me.I have a chance to get a good deal on an unlocked Motorola Milestone from someone. Will it work with simple mobile? What do I have to do to make it work? What are my other prepaid options for unlimited talk/text/web with this phone? I'm in Nashville Tn. and T-Mobile coverage is pretty good hear.

Has anyone else got Mobile Hotspot to work? I've got an A953 (UK unlocked) and it upgraded to Gingerbread fine, and I can connect to the Internet on the phone.When I start Mobile Hotspot, my laptop can see the phone and connect to it (receive an IP address by DHCP). However I can't connect through the phone to the rest of the Internet.Does it have something to do with me being on T-Mobile USA? Unfortunately I'm not really able to test other options, but it would be good to know if it work successfully for others.

Cannot use e mail on phone because, according to Simple, Verion has not released the service book for e mail on this phone. Is there a solution to this issue other than pulling out my hair trying to pry information from Verizon ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of buying an 4s unlocked to use on Simple mobile carrier which they allow iPhones to be used on their not work but don't support it as stated on their website. Giving that it's an unlocked iPhone, all I would need is a Simple mobile sim card and I'm good to go but my question is.... will all features work? It would suck if I bought it at full price just to find out some features may not work on the unsupported network. It would defeat the purpose of having an unlocked iPhone if I can't use it on any GMS carrier.

It has worked fine.Day before yesterday, the Zune software(music player of the phone) stopped updating. I was instructed to reset my phone. Since then I have not been able to figure out to get the data working on my phone.I've tried several things. I've been in the apn settings many many times. View 3 Replies View Relatedis there anything i can do to improve flash video playback? after the 2.2 update i was excited to be able to use flash on my phone, but video playback on it seems so bad that it's unwatchable.it's like a slideshow at best, and at worse i'm only getting one frame every thirty seconds or so. oddly enough the sound never skips or stutters at all.i've tried it over wifi and 3g. Internet videos in the native app and other non-flash streaming media seem to work perfectly.i'm using the stock browser with flash player 10.2.157.51 (the latest one available in the android market), and i've tried several different videos linked from m.flash.com
View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my Milestone which is UAE version to Froyo yesterday after a long delay, was really excited all evening until i discovered two problems with my wifi.The Device does not connect to the corporate network as my office uses 802.1x EAP and there is no place to enter proxy where as my friends using samsung galaxy s (Froyo 2.2) connect to the network and browse using the wifi advanced settings to enter the proxy in their device.

But after some minute It restart with a blank screen then reboot to OS and MSU says update failed. My last resort is to flash it via RSDLITE but when im trying to get into bootloader it shows blank screen then reboot to OS. I cant enter to my bootloader.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave a brand new install of Windows 7 64bit and a 6 month old Milestone 2 which has always succesfully connected to PC/Mac in USB mass storage mode, but when trying to connect to new Windows & PC the PC tries to install MTP drivers that fail.Solution is to select the failed device in device manager and manually install the driver selecting the device as a USB mass storage device and not the default MTP device.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter spending 2 hours on the forums and 2 hrs on motorola website, downloading the motorola software update and finding that the updater says that your phone is up to date with 2.1 (where as the motorola site says 2.2 is now available) and browsing thru unending discussions, I was unable to update my Motorola milestone to Android 2.2. I last week sent my phone to the service center to ask them to update it to 2.2, they returned the phone saying it is up to date.I am sick of removing applications and always worrying about the remaining ROM availability. If the official version is not available in Dubai can someone tell me of a shop where I can get it updated, as I dont really understand the concept of rooting and stuff like that.
I have been following this community since I bought my Triumph 2+ months ago. I am generally happy with the phone, although I am annoyed by the intermittent lack of responsiveness from the touchscreen and the GPS issues. I cannot believe that there are actually Motorola and VM employees who are saying that they are not aware of any issues with the phone - and they say this in the context of forums like this that are FULL of people reporting issues with the phone. I am extremely disappointed with both companies for refusing to either acknowledge that they are working on a fix (or Gingerbread upgrade) or announce that there will be no fix/upgrade. Matt, the Forums Manager, posted the following on the Droid Bionic forum yesterday:
"I know everyone is eager for updated software. We have been working diligently on a software update for DROID BIONIC and have a version in the testing stage; we expect to deliver it to users in 30 to 60 days. The update is targeting issues identified through owner feedback and we're confident it will improve device performance."
Why can't we get an answer one way or the other as to whether there will be a fix or an upgrade for the Triumph? I think a lot of us would be happy with a simple acknowledgement that it is coming, even if the timeframe is still unknown. If it has been decided that there will be no fix or upgrade, then we would like to know that. Triumph users are entitled to the same treatment as the Droid Bionic users, and we have been waiting longer.

Trying out Milestone in home. Keeps disconnecting from wifi have to keep checking it and reconnecting. Btw, is there an app that gives a wifi symbol at the top of the screen? Wifi works perfectly with my laptop.

Screen shows some lines n then when i press the screen lock button the screen goes black and the shortcut screen still glows.Phone recieves the call and if i press the volume button it correctly vibrates and beeps. I have tried formatting, flashing from the service centre everything. The people here in service centre are dumb. They say that the fone have problem in flex, but My phone used to work fine when I had 2.1.

Anyways, recently bell called me saying that I owe them about $250 for tethering my phone, I apparently used about 15mb by tethering. I got pissed and told them I never did that and they said the best they could do is reduce the bill to $100, I took what I could get.
After talking with them, I realized that I always connected my phone to my computer in order to recharge it during the night (it's more convenient and safer then using the wall jack, the wall jacks are in places people can step on my phone). I figured I must have been accidentally tethering with it.Anyways, I still wanna use my computer to recharge the phone when it needs recharging. So how do I disable the tethering to make sure this doesn't happen again? Also, is there a good way for me to confirm that tethering is disabled?
