Pictures disappear from internal and sdcard when uploading to MMS and facebook. They simply vanish when using the built in Files app and Root Explorer. Lost so many pictures before I noticed this problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was uploading pictures to facebook using the facebook app, and my photos froze, so I didn't know how to cancel them so I turned off my phone. After that I turned it back on and went to upload the pictures again and I seen Iron Man 2 pictures there, so I went to my galley to check it out and they were there. Five pictures I think, I can't remember I deleted them, they were pretty small. Anyone else have this or an idea of what happened? They weren't on there before I turned my phone off?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively new Razr M. I have taken several pictures with it over the past 2 months with no problems. Starting a few days ago, I am having this problem: I'll be viewing photos in the gallery, and all of the sudden the photos go blank. There is just a gray square. I can flip from gray square to gray square -- no image shows. If I go back to the main gallery, it may or may not show pictures. There might just be gray squares, or all the pictures might be there. I have tried turning my phone off, then back on. The pictures will show up initially, but then when I start flipping through them, suddenly they turn to gray squares again. I have transferred the pictures to my computer, just to make sure they are saved somewhere. But can't figure out why they will show up and then turn to gray squares.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to upload pictures to facebook today and my entire gallery was cleared. went to file manager and all the photo folders are empty. checked the sd card on my computer and there was nothing. I've tried saving pictures taken with my camera, screenshots, and downloaded pictures but every time i open the gallery, it's completely empty. i haven't changed the storage method from internal to sd memory so I'm at a loss. I'm using the t-mo d851.

Also, if I move an app to the sd card, when it's not connected to a computer, it disappears from my home screen as well.It seems like a recent update to the phone has caused problems with app to sd functionality. Is there any way to fix this other than moving all my apps back to the phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have not had this problem before Gingerbread and have just now noticed it after backing up some SD card data to my PC.Turns out that, when I connect the Droid X to the PC and the SD card is unmounted by that process, several icons disappear from my home screen. It appears to be apps that have partially installed themselves to the SD card (I have not manually moved anything to the SD card or installed apps there because I still have several gigabytes of space on the phone itself) and only those apps. Interestingly they appear to only be games (Angry Birds, Need For Speed Shift, The Sims 3...)I ran an experiment on the phone itself and simply unmounted the SD card and, sure enough, the same apps disappeared from the home screen after I replaced them. Then I did it again by connecting the phone to the PC and again they disappeared.
So this only happens when unmounting the SD card for me. I looked through as many postings on this as I could and I do not have any of the apps mentioned that may be causing this problem, I have gigabytes of free space on both the phone and the SD card, RAM is not filled, and nothing but the basic phone apps are running. Rebooting or battery pulling does not bring the icons back.And this only happened on Gingerbread. The same games did not disappear when I connected the phone to the PC on Froyo.
In my quest to transfer my apps from internal phone storage to my SD CCard I discovered that Motorola refers to (or is it Android) to your SD card as 'media storage'. In an attempt to use the 'Manage Apps' feature and selecting 'Media area' I see apps with check marks and those without. I thought that the ones with checkmarks are those already on the SD Card and those without are those that are not on the SD Card, but might be able to be put on the SD Card. (Another user via another question I put out there indicated that the check marks indicate whether or not an app can be stored to the SD Card . . . is that true?). At any rate I am getting the following message when I select an app and select the 'move to media storage' button.
Failure to move application. There is not enough storage left. Here is the particulars of my current state of storage -
Application Storage - 1.04 GB
Internal Storage-
Total Space: 4.36 GB
Available Space: 4.88 GB
SD Card -
Total Space: 29.71 GB
Available Space: 28.79 GB
*So I have plenty of SD Card space, why am I getting this error? Is the one user correct that just because I see an app in the media area tab, that doesn't mean that it can be transfered? Also, when I select an app and the button to move it to the media area is selectable (not greyed out) . . . shouldn't it be selectable without getting the failure I keep getting? Obvoiusly I have PLENTY of SD Card space, so there is something I obviously do not understand.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a variety of apps that create export or backup files. How can the apps access the SD card storage directly? I recently replaced (under warrenty) my Bionic and it was a pain. I backed up everthing (app data that is) thinking the "backup" was going to the SD card, since all I got was a file address (or name). Once I moved the battery, SIM and SD card from one phone to the other, I realized that all the files were on the internal staroage and still on the old phone, not the SD card. This meant moving all of the hardware back to the old phone, finding all of the files stored on the internal storage, moving them to the SD card, switching everything back to the new phone and moving the files from the SD card to the internal storage - all the time hoping I got them in the right place (which wasn't necessarily the case all of the time).

I do have two questions about downloading music to the phone via MotoCast.1.) Is there a way to designate downloads to go to the External SD card instead of internal memory? It seems like it will only go to internal memory until you max it out and it gives you the option to move things to the external card. This seems like a silly step, couldn't it just go directly to the external card?2.) My music displays in playlists when streaming from my computer, but when I select download a playlist and disconnect from the computer (in a no-data environement) the playlist disappears and all of my music is just dumped into the app unoragnized. Is there a way to maintain the playlist after data is dropped and you can't access your computer?

That is not the case with my Droid 3.
1) I've added a Facebook Account
2) There was no pre-installed facebook app so I downloaded and installed the Facebook App from the Market.
No pictures in my contacts although my facebook contacts did appear (in text form). I did wait a day to see if they'd come down. Next, I removed the app and the account. This time around I switched the order...
1) I installed the Facebook app from the market
2) I went to add and account. There was a small facebook icon and a large one. The large one looked "new" so I tapped it. The screen when blank for a second and then back to the account icons.
3) I chose the smaller facebook icon and was prompted for my login.
Facebook is listed as an account, but still no pictures in my contacts.
I would like to upload a short video to facebook right from my phone. I can send a photo via quick upload but can't seem to send a video.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid X back in December and the Facebook pictures for each contact haven't updated once since I got the phone. I've tried telling it to sync, but the pictures remain the same. Also, with some of my contacts it lists their Twitter name as their name, even if I type in a new name. Is there some way to set a default name? When I'm searching for someone to call/text, I don't normally think of them by their Twitter name, so it can make some people difficult to find. Other people come up by the names I set them to. Not sure what I did differently there.

I had an OG Droid and I loved the fact that everyone's pictures were just brought in. I have signed into the same account on Motorola's Facebook app as well as the Facebook for Android.

I can't figure out how to get the pictures off the memory card to the internal memory so I can put the 2gb memory card back into my tour that it came with. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Bionic is connected to my Exchange Server @ my Firm. My Firm requires Device/Storage Encryption, which the Bionic supports just fine. Now that our phones/SD cards are encrypted when the phone is connected to a PC and the SD card mounted the pics are no longer readable because they are encrypted. Windows is unable to read them, if I email that pic from my phone to my gmail I can open it just fine. If I try to open it direct from the SD its a NO GO. I already ruled out that its my PC I tried 5 other including my personal PC at home...NO GO! So how to I access the pictures direct off the SD?
