View 3 RepliesAfter the Market was replaced with "Play" I had replaced the home screen icon with the new one, and it had been working fine for days. But this morning the icon on the desktop was no longer connected to the new Play Store.Or anything else.
I couldn't get it to fire up from the app drawer either, so I took a look at the application manager in Settings. One of the uptions was "uninstall updates" so I figured if I did that it would go back to the original Market and then I could let everything update from there.
That appears to have been a mistake. I got an error that said it was unable to uninstall the updates, but now the app manager shows the Play Store has a 0KB size, and it still doesn't launch.
my friend has the bionic and got the update Monday night, she was dropping data signals by the next day. we tried everything, airplane mode on/off, battery pulls, uninstalled all apps, factory reset, new sim, cleared history/cache/cookies and everything else mentioned here (I had 3 bionics myself) but it is still dropping.what prompted the new SIM was her attempt to return the phone but was outside the return period...rep stated between the update and SIM, it would resolve the data dropping, but 20 minutes after leaving the store it dropped, which led to the factory reset.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have not noticed the SD problem. But, it that is also not working, it may be something that I can take back to Verizon for a new phone, and just keep taking it back because none of them are going to work.
I did as you suggested and checked my phone using the Astro File app. It is as you said, the SD card is different than the SD ext. I moved Dropbox mannually to the SD ext, and it promptly disappeared from my list of installed apps. There is nothing on my SD ext except for some music files that I put there manually while hooked up to the computer. So, all of the Apps2SD are really not going to the SD card at all. You are right, apps should install automaticall on the SD if they are capable, or at least as you where they want you to install them.
So, is there a way to actually move an app to the SD ext card?
I have music on the Bionic and it seems to be stored on internal storage.. The sd card seems to be empty and i want to store my music there..how come its not stored on the removable storage? how can i get it there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to make my apps install to the SD Card (32GB) like they did with GB installed.I know there has got to be a way - I did an FDR before and after ICS, So I've downloaded 2 apps that I've bought and don't see how to move to SD Card (says internel and/or phone, but no SD option)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues when I move apps to the sd card using the installed software. The app icons disappear from the app menu and if I have a widget on my homescreen I get a message saying the app isn't installed. When I go into the manage app setting, I can see the apps but their icons don't show. I've had to uninstall them and then reinstall them to get them to work. I guess for now, I won't be moving apps to the sd card, but I'm trying to keep my internal memory free.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am finally maxing out my internal storage and I really have not tried, or paid attention to storing any of the apps I have to my SD card. Also, I am getting these notifications everytime I power off and power back on again that say I am low on internal storage (hence the desire to start saving to my SD card). I do not find the directory structure of the SD card for the Droid X2 very intuitive . . . on the other hand, to be fair I haven't really spent the time to understand it either because I didn't have the need to until now. As an example, I have an Angry Bird "update" that I tried to download. However, when it gets to the point where it is almost done, it says it cannot complete the download because I do not have enough space. It is referring to my internal storage of which I have 0 GB. How do I switch the storage to my SD card instead of my internal storage, or does it depend on the app (and in this case Angry Birds just doesn't allow SD card storage?).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a variety of apps that create export or backup files. How can the apps access the SD card storage directly? I recently replaced (under warrenty) my Bionic and it was a pain. I backed up everthing (app data that is) thinking the "backup" was going to the SD card, since all I got was a file address (or name). Once I moved the battery, SIM and SD card from one phone to the other, I realized that all the files were on the internal staroage and still on the old phone, not the SD card. This meant moving all of the hardware back to the old phone, finding all of the files stored on the internal storage, moving them to the SD card, switching everything back to the new phone and moving the files from the SD card to the internal storage - all the time hoping I got them in the right place (which wasn't necessarily the case all of the time).
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Bionic is connected to my Exchange Server @ my Firm. My Firm requires Device/Storage Encryption, which the Bionic supports just fine. Now that our phones/SD cards are encrypted when the phone is connected to a PC and the SD card mounted the pics are no longer readable because they are encrypted. Windows is unable to read them, if I email that pic from my phone to my gmail I can open it just fine. If I try to open it direct from the SD its a NO GO. I already ruled out that its my PC I tried 5 other including my personal PC at home...NO GO! So how to I access the pictures direct off the SD?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the application Ibird Pro and it installed. Now when I try to use it the splash screen appears and then I get the message that "Ibird cannot function without a SD card"There is a 16 Gig SD card installed in the Bionic. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy only "complaint" is that whenever a call comes in or when I make a call, it always has it on the phonespeaker and not over the car dock audio connected to the radio. View 10 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of any surefire way to transfer files to and from the Bionic to a windows 7 PC?
I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa. Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

View 8 Replies View RelatedAny one have any luck getting the FIOS Remote app working on their Bionic? I got it downloaded and followed all the directions but it wouldn't sync up. Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedGmail is my email. I long ago disabled the "conversation" (threaded) view of messages in Gmail iitself on the web, and in settings on any device. However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave experienced this with a couple of applications (Freecaddie Pro and My Tracks) the program is suppose to store to SD card and it saves to internal memory. Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to "My Accounts" on my Droid Bionic, and then click on "Add account", I get the error message "Sorry! The application My Accounts (process com.motorola.setup) has stopped unexpectedly."
I wiped out my Bionic and then re-set everything up, and it was working fine until I added my FB account, and then removed the account. Now I can't add any new accounts at all.
I used Google's https: market.android.com to transfer all my apps from my Droid 1 to my Bionic. By and large it was seemless and quick. However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not looking for an answer (although if someone has one I'm more than happy to hear it), I'm mostly just putting this here so someone at Moto can read it. I went to use my bluetooth headset and got nothing (a problem I reported earlier), so I rebooted the phone. That fixed the sound, but I noticed I had no network. I saw a post that said it would come back if I toggled airplane mode. It put the phone in airplane mode just fine, but when I asked it to turn off airplane mode, it immediately rebooted.

In the last week and a half or so all of a sudden it would start suddenly resetting, 4 times in the middle of calls that I can remember definitely and 3 or 4 times while it was sitting on the counter charging (once multiple times in a row). It doesn't seem to be tied to any specific action and I was wondering if there is any kind of diagnosis or app that I can run to try to figure out of it's a memory/freezing problem?
