I just downloaded the application Ibird Pro and it installed. Now when I try to use it the splash screen appears and then I get the message that "Ibird cannot function without a SD card"There is a 16 Gig SD card installed in the Bionic. Why does it not see the card and what can I do to fix this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have not noticed the SD problem. But, it that is also not working, it may be something that I can take back to Verizon for a new phone, and just keep taking it back because none of them are going to work.
I did as you suggested and checked my phone using the Astro File app. It is as you said, the SD card is different than the SD ext. I moved Dropbox mannually to the SD ext, and it promptly disappeared from my list of installed apps. There is nothing on my SD ext except for some music files that I put there manually while hooked up to the computer. So, all of the Apps2SD are really not going to the SD card at all. You are right, apps should install automaticall on the SD if they are capable, or at least as you where they want you to install them.
So, is there a way to actually move an app to the SD ext card?
I have music on the Bionic and it seems to be stored on internal storage.. The sd card seems to be empty and i want to store my music there..how come its not stored on the removable storage? how can i get it there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my bionic now for two months tomorrow and have had this problem for almost the whole time. However it has randomly gone away. This time it isnt going away. On tuesday I was sending a text message and my Bionic froze (data, text, etc as we all know they do because of the software) But because of it a text wouldnt send. I went to put it into airplane mode to kick start it back to life however it got stuck in transition between the two. So I shut it down instead. Once it turned off it would not turn back on. (it still had about 15% battery left too) Once home I plugged it in and turned it back on, It came on I turned it from airplane mode to regular. The text failed to send and I resent it. Since that one failed I have had the message not sent notification at the top of my screen. When I touch it. It says message not available. And sometimes it gives me an error message and shuts down the text message app. I am using the stock app. I have tried deleting all conversations, restarting the phone, everything except factory restart which I dont necessarily want to do.
BTW I spoke with Verizon yesterday about poor service when purchasing the phone and she said that google was aware of the issues with data connectivity but the other issues I was experiencing such as texts and restarts were not something that other bionic users were experiencing and I should have the phone replaced with a certified like new replacement. HA! I said upgrade me to a razr and she said that she could not do that.
I seem to be getting this error about once a day.

is there a way to get mesage notigication beeps ONLY on getting new text messages, but NOT on getting any email messages? Also, I want to continue to hear the phone ring when a voice or video call comes in.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNow that I've had this happen a couple of times and I know I wasn't hallucinating, I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed it.Sometimes, when I get a new text message, I pull down the notification bar, click the notification, and it takes me to a blank text thread, addressed to the person who sent me the message, just as if I was sending a brand new text in a brand new thread to that person. If I back out of it and go back to text messaging, their name is still showing in bold blue, indicating there is a new message, and I can click it and everything is there as expected.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI get no led notification, screen off or of course screen on. Occasionally the led will flash a single time when the phone goes into sleep mode but no more after that. Not for email, text message, nothing. Tried a reset and no led even before re-installing 3rd party apps. None of the led apps worked either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed that when I get messages (usually MMS with pictures) from my someone who sent the message to multiple recipients, if I touch the icon at the top of the message thread, next to "Multiple Recipients", with the four greyed out heads (where the normal contact picture is), I'm able to see who else the message was sent to. This includes people and phone numbers that I do not have in my contacts list. I'm concerned about this, because if I were to be the one sending a message to multiple recipients, I could see a situation where I would send it to multiple people but not want to disclose everyone's phone number to everyone else. Isn't this a privacy concern or violation? There should be a way to turn this off on the sending end.

The app icons disappear from the app menu and if I have a widget on my homescreen I get a message saying the app isn't installed. When I go into the manage app setting, I can see the apps but their icons don't show. I've had to uninstall them and then reinstall them to get them to work. I guess for now, I won't be moving apps to the sd card, but I'm trying to keep my internal memory free.

Whenever I try to view pictures, through the camera or gallery, I get an error message that reads, "Phone memory is full, not enough memory to start application. delete some files." Because of this, I have had no access to any of my pictures.
I have deleted many files and do not think there are more that can be deleted without losing things that I need. I have deleted some apps from the phone. How do I clear the cache on the phone?
Airtime FREE VZW software update! Due to network changes you must dial *228 in VZW coverage area, press SEND & choose Option 1 to reprogram phone.I tried it for kicks. It won't let you on a 4G device with a SIM card. The message tells me "SIM card has activated your service and updated your phone's roaming capabilities."So I guess with the SIM we no longer have to update roaming using *228 as in the past. I am guessing Verizon sent the message by mistake.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a variety of apps that create export or backup files. How can the apps access the SD card storage directly? I recently replaced (under warrenty) my Bionic and it was a pain. I backed up everthing (app data that is) thinking the "backup" was going to the SD card, since all I got was a file address (or name). Once I moved the battery, SIM and SD card from one phone to the other, I realized that all the files were on the internal staroage and still on the old phone, not the SD card. This meant moving all of the hardware back to the old phone, finding all of the files stored on the internal storage, moving them to the SD card, switching everything back to the new phone and moving the files from the SD card to the internal storage - all the time hoping I got them in the right place (which wasn't necessarily the case all of the time).
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Bionic is connected to my Exchange Server @ my Firm. My Firm requires Device/Storage Encryption, which the Bionic supports just fine. Now that our phones/SD cards are encrypted when the phone is connected to a PC and the SD card mounted the pics are no longer readable because they are encrypted. Windows is unable to read them, if I email that pic from my phone to my gmail I can open it just fine. If I try to open it direct from the SD its a NO GO. I already ruled out that its my PC I tried 5 other including my personal PC at home...NO GO! So how to I access the pictures direct off the SD?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had some troubles with my Bionic the past few weeks.I have a Wifi network at home but not in my Office or car.I will keep the Bionic's Wifi at home on all the time,but will turn it off whne I leave.Many times when I will either walk into another place of buisness or just get a text message when the Wifi is off,it will turn the Wifi on.So,it's searching for Wifi and taking the battery life down as well.I have taken the battery out with the Wifi on and rebooted.

I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedGmail is my email. I long ago disabled the "conversation" (threaded) view of messages in Gmail iitself on the web, and in settings on any device. However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."

Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.
