I've been using the face recognition unlock feature on my table (ASUS Transformer Prime) since it got ICS early this year, and have been pretty happy with it, so I was excited to have the option on the Bionic. I've been disappointed, however, as it doesn't recognize me the majority of the time. I've tried the "improve facial recognition" function, but have difficulty getting it to "lock" on my face

I'm trying to use the trusted face and trusted location methods for keeping the phone unlocked but it's been very inconsistent (title of post is wrong - shouldn't say WiFi, should say location). I can sort of understand the face one not working well (although I've tried the "improve face recognition" option many times), but I don't understand why the location method won't work when I'm at home. Does it take a few seconds for the phone to recognize my location?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI 've downloaded PurpleVRS to my new Driod Bionic and it worked okay. I've tried to call VP (video phone for the deaf) to my friend. It's worked.Purple VRS is relay service for the deaf.Then next couple days, one of my hearing kids told to downloaded Tango Video app and it worked okay.So I can talk to my hearing kids using the Tango Video. BUT the problem is that I noticed when I tried Purple VRS calls, I can see vrs person but she or he can't see me at all. I noticed that my face camera is not shown on the Droid Bionic.
I've decided to remove the Tango Video app and tried again with PurpleVRS still same problem.Is there an option to tell Droid Bionic to settle the face video camera mode to turn on whenever using the Purple VRS?I've tried with PurpleVRS Support and they forward my problem to Mirial company ( appl software company).He doesn't know how long will they response. That's why I came here to see if you know where the video mode turn on/off.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFor some time ago I updated my X10 to Android 2.1 and today (a week later) I noticeed all the sudden that Mediascape has linked alot of my pictures stored in my phone to some of my Facebook contacts automatically. Of course Mediascape got it all wrong, linking my children to old friends I haven't met in several years etc.
1. First - how do I disable Face recognition service entirely. I find this very unuseful since I have found it not that good at identifying persons even when trying to learn.
2. How come that Mediascape did this automatic link between my Facebook contact and my pictures?
3. Is there a way to clear this linking data that Mediascap does. It's pretty time consuming to have to go through all Facebook friends and select the image and Delete the link between the photo and the friend.
I guess Mediascape must have downloaded images from my frieds facebook galleries and analyzed them somehow. However this isn't something I want my phone to spend time doing. The battery time of my X10 is poor already, it doesn't need to do image processing - at least I should have the option to turn this off?Overall I find Mediascape pertty crappy. Mostly because it's performance. I guess the ideas behind it is good, but the implementation isn't near good enough.For example, slow browsing between images. Compare with iPhone, Samsung galaxy, HTC phones, older SonyEricsson phones such as W715 or C905. All these perform much better. Is there a way to remove this or use another media viewer?
I miss the ability to push the top wake button and be able to slide slider over to move from Vibrate to Ring like I used to be able to with my Droid X and Droid D1. You can only switch from Ring to Vibrate that way now.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had my first storm replaced because the screen stopped clicking, and now I am having never ending problems with the screen lock. Ill be in the middle of the call and the screen will be locked but then suddenly it will unlock and ill hit a button and end the call, or flash, or mute. I have prematurely ended hundreds of calls now.
I got a new one, and it is having similar issues. I know that the face recognition works off of heat, so i don't know how the Texas weather is affecting it, but this is getting pretty ridiculous. I have been counting and I am up to 2 out of every 3 calls either get muted, flashed, or ended unintentionally.
I tried using storm lock, but it does not lock the end key of course, so i can still end the call, which I do often. Has any one had any problems with theirs? Any ideas how to fix?
After doing recent updates, the normal swipe-to-unlock feature of my Bionic stopped working. When I press the power button, I'm taken right to the home screen; I don't have to unlock. Even if I use Settings -> Location & Security and add a PIN or pattern lock, these do not work; each time I turn the phone back on, I go right back to the home. Sometimes the swipe screen flashes up but then disappears. The "Security lock timer" setting does not matter (i.e. it is set to 1 minute, but even after that, the phone is never locked. Occurs even after a hard reboot (shutdown, remove battery, power back up), although sometimes the swipe to unlock works for a short time. I've never rooted this phone or done much else beside install some apps from the Android Market. I do have Lookout running.

The Droid Bionic was to be the best phone Moto put out, but delays made the phone pre dated as the Razer came out soon after. Then software updates to patch the connection issues were delayed patch after patch after Patch.Now Moto says they will NOT unlock out phones, the will NOT give us Icecream in the 3rd QT, and they will Prob NOT give us jelly Bean untill 2014, just so we cant get there $100 claim to fame Jelly Bean promise, yet still stuck with an out Dated Phone.
I Can't get another phone it was my last one before my son was born and I wanted the best so it would last. Then Verizon descided they needed to limit my choices and make me pay more to do so (well No new contract) I still get mostly 3g in an area that has 4g, still have to use airplane mode once in a while to get my internet, battery drains constint, no Jelly Bean and LOTS of LOADED Bloat Ware....

I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

View 8 Replies View RelatedSometimes I use headphones while in noisy locations in order to hear calls better, but I still have to hold the phone up to talk into it. I noticed that something kept beeping, and figured out that the screen does not blank when against my head as it does without the headphones in place.
Is there a way to change that behavior, or do I just need to retrain myself to hold the phone differently when using headphones?
Any one have any luck getting the FIOS Remote app working on their Bionic? I got it downloaded and followed all the directions but it wouldn't sync up. Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedGmail is my email. I long ago disabled the "conversation" (threaded) view of messages in Gmail iitself on the web, and in settings on any device. However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."

Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.

I wiped out my Bionic and then re-set everything up, and it was working fine until I added my FB account, and then removed the account. Now I can't add any new accounts at all.
