I'll try to keep this short and sweet. When I'm in my contacts and "edit" them to place a picture I have in my gallery, there's no option for selecting the exact face or spot you want before finalizing the perfect fit for the contact you just edited. My Droid X does this and it is a nice feature. Am I mising this somewhere on the Bionic?

View 15 Replies View RelatedIs there a permanent fix that anyone is aware of for disappearing quick contact pics every time you shut off and restart your phone? I can delete the widget and set-up a new one and it fixes the issue but only until the next time I shut the phone down.

I had an OG Droid and I loved the fact that everyone's pictures were just brought in. I have signed into the same account on Motorola's Facebook app as well as the Facebook for Android.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince the ICS update, I've noticed a glitch while trying to edit search terms in the search box at the top of a Google results page.If I double-tap on a word to select it for editing, an editing menu pops up and covers the search box.In the attached screenshot, you can see that the selected word is bracketed but covered.I'm wondering if this happens on other Bionics running ICS with the stock browser.

All of my contacts in Microsoft Exchange have contact icons associated with them, and on my HTC Thunderbolt the icons synced without an issue. On my Bionic none of the icons are syncing, so all of my corporate contacts are without icons. Why are corporate contact icons not syncing, and how can I get them to sync?

I have a lot of pictures transfered over and I'd like to selectively delete them but I can only figure out how to do it one at a time from within the Bionic. I guess I could hook it up to the computer and selectively delete that way, but when away from the computer, is there another way?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt doesnt group any of my pictures into files even though they are saved that way on my SD card. They are all grouped under All pictures. I also have a problem with the gallery just duplicating pictures randomly. I have only took 6 pictures since i got the phone and it shows i have 437 all most of them are all the same picture. Does anyone else have this same problem? I have tried using the .nomedia trick but that doesnt even work either so i need some help or i will have to return the phone this weekend.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen accessing a contact group, the bionic will always open the last opened contact group. I worked through some settings with motorola last winter, but the problem has never corrected. I even received a new phone when the speaker jack crapped out, same issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Bionic is connected to my Exchange Server @ my Firm. My Firm requires Device/Storage Encryption, which the Bionic supports just fine. Now that our phones/SD cards are encrypted when the phone is connected to a PC and the SD card mounted the pics are no longer readable because they are encrypted. Windows is unable to read them, if I email that pic from my phone to my gmail I can open it just fine. If I try to open it direct from the SD its a NO GO. I already ruled out that its my PC I tried 5 other including my personal PC at home...NO GO! So how to I access the pictures direct off the SD?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid X back in December and the Facebook pictures for each contact haven't updated once since I got the phone. I've tried telling it to sync, but the pictures remain the same. Also, with some of my contacts it lists their Twitter name as their name, even if I type in a new name. Is there some way to set a default name? When I'm searching for someone to call/text, I don't normally think of them by their Twitter name, so it can make some people difficult to find. Other people come up by the names I set them to. Not sure what I did differently there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Handcent SMS for texting. I just received my Razr Maxx last week. I can not get the texting program to show the pictures of my contacts. I think the problem has something to do with Verizon Backup Assistant +. If I go in manually for the contact and put the contact photo in, then I can see them in Handcent SMS. I have many contacts, and I really don't want to do this manually.

I have selected first name first from the menu in > contacts in both fields but without success. It only changes the "me" profile. It doesn't matter if I try and change the SIM list or the phone list.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis error sometimes disables access to my contact list (both directly through the dialer or through text messaging) for several minutes. I can delete contacts and add new contacts (although adding contacts sometimes results in the same crash). I have, on maybe two occassions, been able to successfully edit contact information through the contact list on my Photon, without this error appearing. But it has been several days since then. Yes, I've rebooted the phone several times without any effect on this problem. I've also killed the application through the task manager and then started the application again, also with no effect.

It seems to have immediately synced with my Facebook, which is cool and all, but I don't have the ability to merge my existing contact with a person's number to their facebook profile contact. Furthermore, when I attempt to manually add the number to the Facebook contact, I don't appear to have the ability to execute such a function. All but the first few frames were not usable, but it was over 3 minutes before I realized what happened. Now I have this long video and I want to extract a still image from the first few seconds of the overall clip. How do I do this? I tried uploaded the file to my computer (running Windows XP SP3) but I don't have any s/w that will edit the file that was in .3gp format.
I guess there's no way to edit the clip on the camera? Assuming not, how to edit that format?
Does anyone know of any surefire way to transfer files to and from the Bionic to a windows 7 PC?
I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

View 8 Replies View RelatedAny one have any luck getting the FIOS Remote app working on their Bionic? I got it downloaded and followed all the directions but it wouldn't sync up. Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.
