The camera on my Droid 2 doesn't autofocus anymore. For the first couple months, I was taking crystal clear pictures without any problems, then one day the camera refused to autofocus and now all my pictures turn out blurry. I can say without a doubt that the lens does not need cleaning because if I take an extreme closeup (just a few inches from the subject) the pictures are clear. Any further than a few inches, the pics come out blurry. Holding the shutter button down a little only causes a red box to come up, not green. Using the touch screen shutter button doesn't make a difference. I tried factory resetting my phone and this didn't solve the issue.
I bought my wife the Razr M from AmazonWireless and she loves the upgrade from her Droid X, but we're having problems with barcode scanners.
When taking pictures using the built in camera app, autofocus works fine. However, when scanning a barcode using any app that supports barcode scanning, the camera never autofocuses and since the barcode is out of focus, it can't be scanned. We've tried it using ZXing Barcode Scanner, the Munzee app, and the walgreens pharmacy app.
I haven't been able to find any reports of others having a similar issue which makes me think it might be a hardware issue.
For some reason today when i opened up my camera to take a few shots it had problem auto focusing on items close to me, as you know when you tap the screen to focus on a point in the screen you get the circle and a small beep to let you know it's focusing ok, it seemed to have problems getting to this point and there was an audible high pitched buzzing or clicking sound coming from the lens itself and the screen image would not come into focus
the phone has not been dropped or roughly handled so i am 100% sure it's not an issue caused by being knocked, i have tried a reset and a reboot but the issue still remains, also i have done no recent updates and there are none showing so that's not the issue either
I purchased my Photon at the end of September, and for the most part it has been the greatest phone I have ever used. That is, until my camera stopped working correctly! I launch the camera app, and the screen switches to landscape and the camera initializes, but it will not focus!! I have to tap the screen very hard and rapidly for it to force focus, and any situation other than bright daylight will not focus at all. The phone does not even make that little clicking noise that I think it made when going into camera mode, which I believe meant that the shutter is activating (right??).
This happened once before to me, and I took the phone to a Sprint store. The rep simply toggled the image resolution from 3mp to 5mp and back, and it worked. I then left the store feeling like a dope.....until the next week when it started happening again. Now, I've tried everything to get the camera to work again, but nothing.
My iphone 5 rear camera won't focus on close objects. This happened a few months after I upgraded it to iOS 7. I'm not entirely sure what the issue is and there are no genius bars nearby to take it to. Later I noticed this tiny black spot in my pictures. Its unlike any 'speck of dust' pictures I'm encountering.Â
I would just like to know whether this is a scratch or a hardware problem or if its something on (not in) the lens that can be removed with cleaning. This is the camera at maximum zoom. The size of the spot increases when I zoom in.
Back in August 2011, shortly after an OTA Update, I noticed the focus function was no longer working.Sometime around October, I finally was fed up enough that I tried to do something about the problem. Unfortunately, my warranty had expired in Sept. Verizon Tech Support suggested a factory reset, so I did this. With no apps installed, I first tested the camera, and the focus still did not work. I reloaded all my apps and set up the phone, and, of course, this made no difference. At this point, I gave up and assumed this functionality had failed.
In November, I realized that the focus feature had begun working again. The only thing I'm aware of having happened is that the phone fell off of a coffee table onto the floor the day before. The phone was in a case and the table was about 18" high. I am sure that I did not load or unload any apps during that time. I may have recieved an update to an app, but since the focus did not work after factory reset, I doubt this to be a factor. The focus feature has been working up until today! I used the focus on NYE and all was well. No changes from then to when I discovered focus to be dead again. Here's a list of what I've done after the 2nd failure of focus:Shut down/battery pull Uninstall Shop Savy (uses camera), shut down/battery pull Install Vignette Demo to see if that app could access the focus. Nope.Uninstall Vignette Demo, shut down/battery pull Clear Data for Camera App under App Management, shut down/battery pull Force Close, then clear data for Camera app, shut down/battery pull.Lighting, ambient temperature, with/without case, inside, outside, upside down (j/k) doesn't seem to help. Can one of the Motorola guys (or anyone who knows for sure) tell me how the focus works? Is it a mechancial thing or is it all digitial? My theory is that either something mechanical is stuck or some sort of electrical connection has lost continuity.
As we know it is not possible to use the E7 camera less than 1m distance, would it be possible to use the front camera? Especially for business cards and then scan it?
I seem to be having a problem with the Autofocus function. It works fine for close up pictures i.e. I press the button softly once and the camera focuses then the square goes green to say it focused, then I press again and it takes the picture fine. When I do the same for further away pictures I do the same process but the square never goes green....so the autofocus did not work. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? The camera settings are on normal for autofocus BTW.
I've had my S6 for nearly two weeks now, and I've noticed a strange trend when taking photos with the front camera. Things that are relatively up close such as my face end up being a tad blurry whereas everything in the background is nice, sharp, and detailed. No matter how I position my face in the shot, despite it recognizing my face, it just won't bring it into focus. After a few more shots, it doesn't look like the front is auto-focusing at all. I've checked all of the camera settings, and everything is defaulted except for Beauty mode which I have set to 0. How possible is it that this is a hardware defect?
I got a problem with the N8's camera. It seems that the auto-focus does not work at all. This issue applies for videos and still pictures. It did work however once. But somehow not anymore and i did not change anything related to settings and neither did i update/install any software.I already had to reset the phone to factory defaults once since the "keylock button" refused to lock my phone when i slided it. This works now, but then again, the camera appears to be broken.
I just got a new Z3, and the auto focus on the main camera isn't working. I can hear a click when I open the app, or when I switch from the front camera to the rear one - is that a normal sound? I changed the camera settings, cleared the app data, tried using Google Camera, and even reset the phone. Is there anything else I should try? Is my camera defective?
My 1020 photos are appalling at the moment. They are just unfocused. Took photos of my daughter seeing Santa yesterday, no time to fiddle with settings. Ended up with awful out of focus shots, friends Iphone pics were fab. So fed up, I nearly missed the pics altogether because of the loading screen.
Have a severe focus delay when launching the camera?? It takes my camera (& gf's) about 10 seconds to focus. It's like the camera is set on macro when it opens.

My main idea of purchasing Xperia Z2 was the 4K video facility. It attracted me a lot..but once i started using it...quality is just acceptable and the continuous auto focus is really annoying...even when nothing moves in the frame the camera just make it focus again and again...this makes some worst videos after all.
I just realize my camera won't autofocus, it's only focused on the objects that is quiet far it doesn't work with the nearest objects. Any idea what's going on with it? is it because of some photography apps? cuz i have lots of photography apps.
My N82 while taking pictures focuses properly in macro mode. (Green rectangular box). Other than macro mode I can see only red rectangular box (indicating improper focus?) and the photo seems to be blurred. Macro mode photos seems to be good. Even if I put camera settings to 'Auto' I am getting red rectangular box most of the times instead of green. Software or hardware fault?
I recently got the droid RAZR. When I activate the camera either taking a pic, vid or going on skype it stays horizontal. Is it ment to stay on its side when you make a video call? Does it auto-rotate?
