View 1 RepliesJust got a Sprint Admiral, paired my bluetooth with it easily enough (Blueant T1), but at random, the phone will disconnect and reconnect bluetooth.I have actually watched the bluetooth icon go dark, then light back up so I know it is not an issue with the earpiece itself. It is becoming very annoying, and talking to others who have this phone, they have reported the same issue with other bluetooth earpieces.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAt least 5 or six times since I got this phone a month ago the BT will turn off during a call. 2 different H730 headsets do it, as well as the Belkin Aircast, so I know it must be the phone. I turn off the headset by closing the boom and re-opening, but it doesn't link back up. I have to toggle BT in settings to get it to work again. Someone tell me they didn't sneak in windows 95 into my phone!

I'm now using the Motorola H730 BT and all I hear is Call on Phone One. I know that I can set the phone to read the ID on incoming calls but sometimes the phone is in my jacket pocket and I don't always hear the ID.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone notice the bluetooth volume is low when you first make a call? I notice each time I place a call, I have to tap the volume rocker up or down to boost volume to the preset listening volume. I've tried this on two separate headsets and both results are the same. I do make sure the volume is at the max on the my headset (plantronics hd pro) I am not sure if this a normal function on the admiral to protect the eardrum from unexpected sound.

I like this feature especially when driving, however, could it be modified to first wake the screen if it's blank then wait for a second press to end the call? If a notification appears during a call, there's no way to see it without hanging up on the caller.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had a strange, but very frustrating behavior on my phone twice recently. My alarm will go off, but it will not make any sound whatsoever. I have the app alarm clock extreme and the regular android alarm. During this time, neither will make any sound. The default alarm will vibrate, but alarm clock extreme will not - although it should. A soft reset will fix the problem. Additionally, my ringtones will not make any sound when someone is calling. I'm trying to remember how the behavior was this morning, but I feel like pressing the volume up and down keys while the alarm was going off first snoozed my alarm, but then beeped to let me know the volume level.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Admiral freezes/lags when dialing/redialing and the Touchscreen is unresponsive. Its really bad on missed calls. I can hit the green dial icon 20 times in a row and nothing happens. Finally wait for about 30-60 seconds and it will dial.
I routinely reboot. Not running alot of apps. Latest firmware. I've also noticed the browser is slow to render webpages no matter how fast the connection is.
Just wanted to start a discussion on battery life. Whether is be pro, or con. What do you think of the current battery life of the Admiral?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought the Motorola MOTOACTV because I have the Motorola Admiral, and they are supposed to be able to work together. However Google Play states that the Motorola Admiral and the MOTOACTV app are not compatible. And while the latest release states that the MOTOACTV app should work with all Android 2.1 and higher, the Motorola rep that I called (level two, ID 5545142) states that the app will only work with the RAZR, which is contrary to everything put out about the MOTOACTV. I'd be interested to know if this is correct.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have myiphone 6 withios 8.1.1 connected to my 2013 Honda Pilot with Bluetooth. Everything works fine when I am listening to music with the native music app. However, when I make or receive a phone call thebluetooth drops in and out every couple of minutes. How do I stop it from dropping out? It makes usingbluetooth for a phone call useless. And why would it work for hours on end if it is only playing music but won't work for more than a minute on a phone call?

way to check the Bluetooth protocol version being used for a given device connection on the iPhone? Is there a status screen or logfile somewhere?
E.g., if I connect a headset, is there a way to verify whether the iPhone is communicating with it using 3.0, 2.1, 2.0, etc? This isn't the same as what the device specs say it supports as (all?) Bluetooth devices are capable of falling back to earlier protocol versions. I'm envisioning a situation in which a 2.1 version device isn't fully compatible for whatever reason and so falls back to 1.1- how would you know this has happened?
I want to be able to verify what protocol a given device is actually communicating at for various reasons (security, power usage, etc.)...

I could not get the Nokia 700 to connect using bluetooth DUN, to a laptop running WinXP.Really weird since this has been working for me for years with every other phone.I am using web/web which is the usual pair, but this is contract internet, not PAYG...The connection goes through the login/pwd bit OK and then fails when it says registering your computer on the network', with Error 734, terminated.Googling suggests things like disabling the multilink option but it doesn't help.I can get a connection using Joikuspot, so maybe this is a good time to drop the bluetooth But, after a lot of googling, it was solved, so here it is for those (many) with the same problem:One needs to add+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet"into the modem initialisation string box (windoze XP).Totally bizzare. I found a clue to this in some vodafone forum.Disabling multilink in the Network tab for the network connection is also seemingly required, and this proved quite difficult since windoze keeps putting that option back in.
It is curious since the phone already knows the APN because mobile internet works on the phone itself, just by inserting the SIM card. Clearly it uses the auto-APN protocol to get that. Similarly when I use Joikuspot touse the phone as a modem - no APN config needed there either. why use bluetooth DUN when one can just use wifi, with Joikuspot? Well, JS is not a great solution either. It delivers a computer-computer wifi connection which most windoze computers will not connect to, or not reliably, unless configured to ignore all "infrastructure" (i.e. access point) wifi networks. If there is a normal wifi network in range, the laptop will keep trying to use that instead and won't connect to the JS one. Also, JS offers only WEP encryption which while easily secure enough for this type of occassional usage is not correctly supported by many very modern computing devices (it confuses the h*ll out of Apple IOS stuff, for example) which support only WPA etc. Also wifi uses a lot more battery power in the phone than bluetooth.
I loved my Lumia 1020 but could not get music to play via Bluetooth in either of my cars no matter what I tried. It says it connects fine for phone and music and I can receive calls, I can hear and dictate texts, but when it comes to music the phone plays one song for 1 second and then continually loops trying to play the song but only ever makes it 1 second. In the Toyota, it also doesn't send any song information. I have unlinked bluetooth, relinked it, reset the phone, disconnected voice and left music, and had no luck.
My cars are a 2011 Tundra Platinum and 2013 Infiniti JX. I've also read some people had the same issue with Audi and Lexus.
Additionally, both of my cars have USB jacks to interface and play music through with the Navigation/sound system directly and that doesn't work either. The cars completely don't recognize it. Androids and iPhones all work flawlessly.
I honestly had become a big Lumia 1020/WP8 fan and love what Nokia offers in software. I actually really like the WP8 interface as well but not having Bluetooth connectivity to my vehicles (for both voice and music streaming) is a deal-breaker.
I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling. My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location? If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals

View 4 Replies View Relatednot sure if it is already been discussed, but I was looking at a post for tabbed browsing and I just found that the standard web browser on the 5800 supports even a better feature: you can open N pages and then you can get a "slide view" of them. Open a page, then oper another, and another, then go to the option menu and click on the "Panoramic" button (not sure if Panoramic is the term used in English, anyway is the symbol with 3 sheets of paper one on another), and just swipe your finger to get the page you need.
