Moto X Pure :: Voicemail Notification Won't Go Away
Oct 22, 2015
I just got my MXPE yesterday, and ever since I activated it I'm constantly recieving a notification that I have a voicemail. Every hour my phone will go off telling me I have a new one, but when I access my voicemail there are no messages. I'm on Sprint, and I've called their support and they've walked me through everything from resetting my voicemail to reprogramming the Sprint code in the phone, but it still won't go away.
Everytime after i get a chat app notification, after the default notification sound I hear a certain pop following it... With headphones I don't hear this.
I am not receiving an audio notification of an incoming message when I am on a call. I typically end a call to find important txt and email messages waiting for me in the notification bar. This is a feature that I have had on every non-android phone. My emails and sms apps are set to Priority. Call and message interruptions are turned on.
Is there no way to have a little battery % meter displayed next to the battery icon in the notification bar? It was super easy to find on my M8, but I'm just not seeing the option on here.
How do you set the notifications on a Moto X Pure to have one type of notification for text messages and a different notification for email?? So far loving the Moto X
The android system (6.0) update notification came on my phone yesterday (Moto X Pure 2015). Since I couldn't connect to a WiFi where I was, I decided to switch to my cellular data. But as soon as I did that the notification disappeared. I tried finding it on my phone settings, where you go to settings-->about phone-->system updates. It says my device it upto date. How can I retrieve the notification? I was waiting for my android OS update for a month and then this happened.
I clicked "OK, I get it" to get rid of a marshmallow Android update and it went ahead and scheduled it... Now the notification tray shows System Update and I can't get rid of it.
I can't send a decent quality video clip taken with my phone over mms. It will only let me send unwatchable video, even if the video is only five seconds. Is there something I'm missing?
I have 2 apps that I prefer to not have notifications from; boom beach and clash of clans. In settings under apps I set both apps to block all notifications, yet they seem to reset themselves to allow all notifications.
I have one day left before I can return this phone and I just discovered that it does not even see my bit30 nes controller or my sharkk Bluetooth speaker. I have used these devices countless times on my OG X and my nexus 10 (both on 5.1.1) without issue. I have a nexus player and it sees that fine (haven't had a chance to try to connect it yet).
I did some research and all I can find to try is to put it in safe mode and try pairing. It still doesn't see either. Is there anything else I can try? If I can't get this resolved by tomorrow, I am sending it back permanently because I don't want to play risky games with the replacement they will send me.
"7. Enable Developer options (and speed up animations) Moto X Pure Edition Developer Options
No matter which Android device we get, as soon as it boots up we immediately jump into the hidden Developer options and speed up the animations. This will make the entire phone feel so much more responsive and snappy.
Here’s how you do it:
Jump into your Settings app Scroll down to the bottom and select About phone Scroll to the bottom and press Build number 7 times Press back button and select new Developer options at the bottom of Settings Find window animation scale, transition animation scale, animator duration scale and select .5x for each"
I have since disabled the developer's option but it still will not recognise any bt devices..
I'm running Nova launcher and have checked those settings as well as the X's settings and can't find out how to get rid of the vibration when sliding to unlock.
I've just got a Moto X Style and mostly love it (especially coming from my ancient Galaxy S3 which was slowwwww at opening apps)
One problem I'm having though is the seeming inability to turn on or off vibration when I get notifications. I used to use my phone in one of three ways:
1) Outdoors - Ringers/notifications on full volume, plus vibration 2) Indoors - Ringers/notifications quieter, no vibration 3) Bedtime - Ringers on but quiet, notifications silent, no vibration
I can't seem to get anything close to this. Even when I've gone into individual apps and turned off the vibration setting, it still vibrates! And this motor is almost as loud as the sounds!
When I get a new message from WhatsApp it doesn't notify on the top bar, it appears just the icon for this app. If this icon is already there, it doesn't change anything if I've received a new message, (I've to check pulling down the bar to see if I received new messages and who has sent it). My older cellphone used to show the message "Message from..." for like a few seconds, so I could see instantaneously when I'd got new messages.
When I'm listening to music, either through Bluetooth or the phone's speakers (haven't tested this with headphones), and I get a Google Voice call through Hangouts, the music will pause while the phone rings, but a second or two after I answer the call, the music will start playing again. It's much quieter and awful quality, but still loud enough for the other person to hear and drown out their voice.
I'll answer the phone and start talking, then the music starts playing again and I have to tell that person to hold on a second while I pull the phone away from my face to pause the music. It's extremely annoying and it's never happened on any other Android device I own.
When my phone vibrates you can really hear the vibration, so if the phone is in my pocket and it vibrates someone next to me would be able.to hear it.Is the vibration suppose to be loud that way?
Since I've had the phone from last Wednesday, the MXPE has woken up over a dozen times in my front pocket. I've ****/pocket dialed at least 4 people because of it. And I'm sure my battery life is suffering because every time I take it out of my front pocket, the phone is awake. In my car with the radio on, my phone has come to life several times because it believes it has heard the launch phrase, even though my phrase is pretty obscure. I know the simple solution is to turn off Moto Display/Active Voice, etc.. but I actually like the features.
I recently upgraded to marshmallow and so far it's not going well. Mainly with access to my SD card and external HD. With lollipop I usually use ES File Explorer, no problems transferring media to and from SD card or external. With mm it doesn't allow 3rd party app to access any storage and forces you to use OS. How to go back to lollipop?
So, when I am on my works wifi no emails will come through from my exchange account which is put through gmail. However, I took it off wifi and they came right through for some reason. I was on a Nexus 6 up until a few days ago and I didn't have any issues when connected to wifi.
What happened: (Moto X Pure, just purchased new from Moto)
Came with Android 5, and I have upgraded it to Android 6 with the update straight from Moto. Been on Android 6 since the first day of use, about a week ago. Then today ...
1. Left phone on (Moto OEM) charger overnight, was at about 23% to begin with. 2. 7am Alarm went off (one I had set). 3. I silenced the alarm. 4. Unplugged from charger. 5. Phone would not work at all. No display. Could not get it to power on or the screen to come on (if it was powered on). Depressed the power button. Held it in, etc and so on. Nothing worked. 6. Plugged it back into the OEM charger and it came on and booted up. 7. After starting up it showed a 99% charge level. 8. Working fine now.
