Lumia Icon :: Slow USB Charging Message Always Comes Up
Aug 3, 2015
I noticed my Lumia Icon started to charge slowly in my car, battery pack(even 2.1A kind), PC etc. The slow USB charging message always comes up. However charging with the Nokia charger 1.8A is fine though. But, I remember it used to charge fine with most places, only recently I noticed the message showed up more frequently. Also, any app like Ampere on Android for windows phone? It is useful to see the actual amp during charging.
I'm getting "Saving" after taking a couple photos in a row on my Icon. At first it would shoot and shoot, now I just get a couple and then it slows. I've filled up and emptied the phone a bunch (I shoot a LOT of photos/videos).
I have both the DT-900 wireless charging plate and the DT-901 wireless charging stand. They both have a charge light that stays on when charging and goes off when charging is complete. I've notice that with the Icon the light never goes out when the phone is fully charged. When I charge my 822 the light goes out when it's fully charged.
I have tried using my Lumia 950XL on the Nokia Wireless charging plate (DC-50), however it appears to charge very slowly, is this correct? To put it into perspective, placed on charge when the phone was completely flat at 7pm, but 12:30am (5 1/2 hours later) the phone was only at 64.the phone was placed centrally on the wireless pad, not in a case, etc.
I did a hard reset on my 1520 and reinstalled Build 10149 after there was a problem, which I solved by doing the reset, but now charging it takes a year and a half to complete (5 hours remaining on 50%) and the charging icon keeps blinking?
I just received my icon the other day and coming from an iPhone 5s the web is painfully slow. Google can take a good 10 seconds to load sometimes while on the iphone is was virtually instant.
On my icon I'm running the Developers preview. It seems when I hit the power button to wake my phone there is a slight delay. It seems to happen when i'm at home and not so much at work.
I'm not sure if this is related more to Denim update or enabling "Hey Cortana" but now, when I press the power on button I see the top indicators show up immediately, then after about 10 seconds the rest of the main screen displays.. Subsequently, pressing power off/on will resume immediately, but after a few minutes the same behavior occurs again.
I just picked up two new nokia icons off ebay.. it was listed as new at least.. came in a box etc..
If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.
I just updated last week to Gingerbread but this was happening before that. I plug my phone into my factory charger and when I go to unplug it it says it is still charging. Dosent go away until I reboot the phone, any ideas? When it is fully charged the green led even stays lit. Dosent do it all the time just enough to be annoying. I really dont want to trade my phone for a reconditioned one since it is only three weeks old.
i bought my xperia just 3 weeks ago and it was fine. it just took 2 or 3 hours to charge full. but now i have noticed that it is charging too much slow..it takes about 3 hours for half a battery to charge and about 6 hours to fully charge...and it doesnt last long.
maybe its just me, but when i try and charge my 9700 with a usb charger its slooooooooooowwwwwwww. like almost worthless. it would seriously take hours to get it charged.
is that just me? it doesnt matter if its plugged into a cigarette plug adapter, or right into my computer...
these are the same cords that charged my 8310 beautifully.
After i upgraded my mobile from kitkat to lollipop android i charged my mobile .. from 5% to 70 % it took over 6 hours !!!!
Before updating the maximum time was 3hours from 1to 100%. The same cable and charger is present .. Nothing new used !!! What happened after this update ??
I have a launch day N5, rooted stock 4.2.2 running ART. A few months ago my car charger died and I picked up a Duracell-branded charger to replace it that uses a USB cable. (I can't recall if I'm using the one that came with it or the old one the old charger had.) It was fine for a month or two and then I started noticing occasionally I'd take it off the cord at the end of a drive and it was lower than I'd started. The screen had come on and the charge icon appeared, but the battery graph was a straight line down.
I dug an old $1 Monoprice charger I had and it just treads water, perhaps gaining a percent or two after 20-30 minutes; nothing like a wall charger (or car charger before) which does 25% per half-hour. I bought a PNY 2.1A charger and it's only marginally better. 30 minute drive home and it only increased 4% with Tune In feeding Bluetooth. To rule out the cable I took it and used it with a wall charger and it was fine, charging full speed. I'm really at a loss as to what's causing this terrible charging performance. I'm going to try the power point in the console as opposed to the dash, but I don't get what difference that should make.
as the title says I have a iphone 5s on 3 uk network and i use it for tethering, when the phone is not plugged into a usb or charging I am able to pull down 20meg speeds but when the phone is on charge my signal drops from 3 bars to 1 and the speed is really slow just able to pull down 1meg if I am lucky Â
I have a samsung wireless charging pad and i charge my g920f with it every night since i bought it a week ago. It was charging well in about 3 hours from 0%, but now it is charging very slow (25% in 8 hours) and it is heating. I installed an app to see cpu states, it is 99% on 800mhz. I tried changing cables and chargers but nothing worked. Charging with microusb works just fine. If i turn off the s6, wireless charging works as normal. I don't have root nor modified the system in past and i don't plan on rooting. I have latest 5.1.1 from romania(vodafone).
Whenever I plug my Nexus 5 into a wall charger, it normally charges at an AC rate. However, I've found with external batteries that it charges at a USB rate even if it's plugged into a 2.1A port. I find it odd because my Nexus 4 seems to charge at an AC rate when plugged into these batteries.
Since the time I have received my phone, while my phone is charging, typing becomes very slow and glitchy on all the messaging applications. I was previously using Google Keyboard, then downloaded swifkey pro, but the problem still persists.
I have a problem with my htc explorer. I plugged in the charger when battery was empty. Its 8 hour pass still battery is not fully charged. Its now 80%.
I charge my Defy when I go to bed. When I hit the power button first thing in the morning, the phone response to touch, click, etc.is all slowed down. This goes away when I turn off the phone and turn it back on, but I'm lazy and don't want to reboot every day. (I normally reboot every 3-5 days)
Put on charge (turned off) about 1:30am at around 14% and when taken off at about 10:30am or so at 76%. That more or less happened the night before too. All this last week the battery really has been appealing.
I reset cache, not improved. I uninstalled most out of the few third party apps I had. (Only had 3 pages on my phone, now two)
The only apps I even use are chrome, Skype, and since a few days after this problem started Gsam battery monitor.
When connecting my Droid Bionic to my laptop via USB cable for charging purposes, the phone will charge very slowly. I have left the Bionic on the cable for 3 1/2 to 4 hours and only see an increase in the charge of the phone of about 10%. I have installed the Motorola mobile drivers, and still no better performance. I have used multiple cables, and tried different USB ports to see if ther was any change. I have attempted while the laptop is conneced to power, and when it is running off battery, no difference.
Recently sometimes my Nexus has been charging extremely slowler than usual. Its so bad now that while in use and plugged into charge, its losing battery. Was 19% when I plugged it in now its 16%.
I tried rebooting to see if it was a bug showing the wrong percentage on the bar but that didn't work.
I bought the device mid December last year, direct from Google. Is this something I should seek a replacement over?
