I am confused on the file sizes/ reading many many reviews I keep reading about 16:9 photos at 30 plus MB, but for me so far my photos 16:9 are around 13-15 MB size? Maybe I got my Megapixels and MB confused. One photo is 7712 x 4352 =33 Megapixels , The JPG file size is 9.37 MB ....
View 4 Repliesi have been very much looking forward to getting this phone for about a year and have been in ownership for about 2 months now. Ok, the issues are as follows;The camera so far has delivered nothing but bad photos ! Most of the images are slightly blurry or out of focus, and the colors not quite right.Now I know what this phone can do...yet it doesn't appear to offer much on simple 'auto everything' setting ?
I have only today found out that there is a high res secondary file saved in addition to a standard shot, when viewed through the computer explorer rather than through the phone or email....however, despite this, I have recently taken some shots last weekend which i cannot take again as they were with visiting friends...and lone behold none of them have a secondary high res copy ?!? is there any way to increase the image size and quality of these images with no secondary high res copies or are they doomed ?!
I recently got myself the nokia lumia 1020 after seeing and hearing about the camera on it. Well, I'm disappointed with the photos after transferring them to my computer and I am wondering if I am only getting the 5 mp shots off of the phone. I have a mac, and so I downloaded the Windows Phone app onto the computer so that I can hook my phone up via USB and take the photos off. When I take them off, they are grainy when you zoom in a couple of times. They also only appear to be, on average, 2mb in size. It seems to me that the full sized photos would take up more space than that, or am I wrong?
View 10 Replies View RelatedRecently i was going through all of my photos - older ones and the new ones. I did notice, that older pictures are bigger in size than those i snapped recently. I'm talking about oversampled ones (5 MP). They used to be ~1.6-2.3 mb size, now they are 600-800 kb.
Am i doing something wrong? I'm copying my photos directly from the phone, so there is no compression going on.
I updated my phone to the 8.1 and now my photos on the internet are only showing half the size. I do not have the option to auto fit the photos to the screen and the fonts are to the smallest they can go.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just recently got my 1020, I love it, I'm new to Windows Phone, I've been on iPhone since it's inception. When I take a photo on the 1020, and view it straight after, is it showing me the 41mp (or 34mp perhaps) version or the 5mp version? In settings it's set to take both 5mp and 34mp. But it seems as though the quality of the photos is quite low, especially when you zoom in a little! I'm still trying to work out if there's an improvement when I export it to the computer, maybe this is something to do with viewing it on the phone? I used the HD Photo Viewer app, I didn't notice a difference but maybe I will after a take more photos.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm curious what others are using on their 1020s in Nokia Pro Camera for the Settings -> Pictures -> Aspect ratio. Do you use 16x9 or 4x3?
On one hand, the 4x3 pictures use more of the sensor's megapixels, but don't display well on the screen (which is 16x9). An additional crop is needed for the down sampled versions to look their best, but setting the camera to take photos that way that way just ends up feeling like throwing away pixels unnecessarily.
I want to delete the background photos/album. The only place I can see this album is through the lock screen setting. It will not let me delete the album or pictures.

i have noticed that, when im taking a Photo with SmartCam, and later im going to save my edited Photo. I can only save one edited Photo from the original file. How can i save 2 different edited Photos? When i go back and i want to edit/save another Photo from the original file, it always overwrites the last saved/edited Photo.
When i take a Photo and i edit it, for example i zoom into a area, and save that zoomed part, it always replace the last edited Photo from the original file.
I tried,so many photography apps..certain apps good,but,the problem is,when we save after we make editing in that apps, they save my photo in low resolution..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been searching and searching on how to change to contact photo size when you make a call or receive a call. I prefer to see the small thumbnail in the upper left corner as opposed to the entire screen being taken up by the contact's photo. After checking multiple threads on this website every answer states that when you use the Address Book on the Mac it syncs the small thumbnail and when you apply the photo on the iPhone it displays the full screen photo size for the contact. Well this solution is not working for me. I've tried deleting the contact's photo then applying them using the Address Book on my Mac and after they sync with iCloud and I make a call it still displays as a full screen photo.

I have a iPhone 4 with the latest iOS. When I add a contact to my phone, I choose a contact picture from the photo library. I make a test call to the number, and the photo appears full size. The moment I leave the contact screen and try to make a test call again (for example, adding the contact to my favorites and using a favorite link to make a test call) the picture appears as a thumbnail. This happens immediately and to every contact I have. I sync the contact list with Google contacts.

When you upload a photo from your phone to FB for example, do you notice that it uploads a very small compressed image? For example, using the native Gallery quick upload feature, i'm alerted that the photo is 2MB and needs to upload over WiFi, so it uploads. But then that same pic on FB ends up being only around 86KB. Uploading straight through the FB app is better, but still only around 325KB for the same image file. Is there any way around this at all?
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe size of photos taken by my Lumia 950 is about only 4 to 5 MB although I set it to JPEG(16 MP) . Another confusing point is that their dimensions are about 3000*5400 which roughly gives 15 MP not 20 MP!!
Apart from the size and dimensions, the quality of photos also do not sound superb in general, there are just fairly good, so I guess that something might be wrong.
Does anyone know if there is a way of increasing the font size as when I look at contact info it is very very small and as you cant zoom in on this info I really need to increase the font size to make it much easyer to read.
