I bought a new Ip4s and naively wanted to tranfer the data from my previous iP4. Stupid me, I have updated on my previous iP4 the latest software 5.1.1, while the nwly bought iP4s didn't have it.When i connected the iP4s to iTunes for the first time, the bloody thing didn;t allow me to restore from the previous phone, because I needed first to download the latest iPhone software and, to do this, I needed to create a new environment. After doing this, no way to be able to restore from my previous iP4. So disappointing ... as if I have hours and days to manualy load my 400 contacts and thousand of pics, arrange my apps etc.
I know just connect the data cable to computer and transfer data but when i connect data cable to computer it does not show any thing on the computer and not even on the phone.so how should i make my phone able to transfer data to pc.
my iphone 3gs with IOS 5.0.1 broke, and it was backed up on my itunes. i had to revert back to my iphone 3g with 4.1.2 until i can afford a newer phone, but the problem is... i cant transfer the backup of the 3gs because the 3g does not support 5.0.1. how can i format the backed up data to work on my 3g? or am i just out of luck until i buy a newer phone?

I have a 3gs and I am upgrading to a 4s in a few weeks. Please can anyone offer help in transferring my current 3gs content across to my 4s and then 'emptying' my 3gs to pass across to my friend to use. I have icloud but to be honest I'm struggling to follow how the transfer would 'work' and I'm scared I'll lose something.
I had my iPhone shut off, and then turned back on. Thing is, I wiped the phone clean, but had everything saved to my iCloud account. Is there anyway I can have it all put back onto the phone?
My son and I share an account under different user profiles. I would like to separate the two and make a new one for him without his losing data. At this point we share money and the account password. When he dowloads apps they show up as ghosts on the screen on my phone. Can we save his apps and music and transfer them from my account to a new itunes/iphone in a painless way?
I have an iPhone 3. I now have a new iPhone 4.I have my computer with lot more official and company related contacts and other data which I do not wish to transfer onto new iPhone.I would like to transfer only the same old data fro iPhone 3 to my new iPhone 4.How can I do this, preferable without going thru computer or icloud.
My iPhone's screen no longer works. I never turned on iCloud, and my dad just ordered a new phone for me. My question is, is there a way I can transfer my old contacts, pictures, music, and apps without iCloud?
1) How can I save/keep/transfer all Messages and Notes when I put my SIM card into a new iPhone?I have done that but only some of the Messages and Notes are there on new phone.
2) Also/or: are all Messages and Notes saved on my Mac whenever I Sync / Update it? And if so, WHERE on my computer do I find them? The Apple site says to be sure to Sync phone "to keep all data" (of course) but I want to make sure that includes ALL Notes and Messages and know where to find them on my computer to truly save and access them. * I have a 4S and the newer 4S with Siri. I am going to give the 4S to a daughter and keep the 4S with Siri.
3) Will the Genius Bar people help me with this if I can't myself, or do I need to go to AT&T (gag)?
