IPhone :: Ringtones Cannot Transfer To Ringtone Folder?
Jun 10, 2012
I downloaded a few ringtones for my iPhone and as i tryed to drag them into the Ringtone folder, it wouldnt go.I started reserching and I read all about the .mr4 thing so I know that thing is its impossible to drag the file onto my desktop... Why does Apple have to make things so difficult.. Why issnt it possible to do the most logic thing, simply drag the file into the ringtone folder?i have had iPhones for years now, and everytime i want to do something that is so simple to do on anyother phone int he universe, it feels like getting a razor wire enima when i have to do it on apple productes. and its suppose to be so simple and everything, but a ringtone i have to drag out to my desktop and delete it from my itunes then rename the file format and add it back in?.in what world is that easy?.. on top of that, i cant even do it.
My question has nothing to do with a hardware issue. In itunes I have about 300 or so ringtones in the MUSIC folder. How I did that is beyond me. I would be grateful if someone could tell me how to move them all to the TONES folder where they belong.
I assigned individual ringtones to my contacts in contact list but when they call, the default ringtone is ringing.Does anyone know how to fix it? I guess this situation accured after I erased everything on my iPhone and installed backup from my computer. I searched everywhere on internet but couldn't find anything, and then this idea came up; I deleted all the assigned rigntones, created a new backup on my computer then deleted all contacts and installed the backup but still when I assign a ringtone to a specific contact it's still ringing default ringtone when she calls.. Btw I also checked for duplication errors, there is only one for each contact..
Previously, I've used Audacity to edit a song in my iTunes library for use as a ringtone. I'd open the .mp3 or whatever file it was, copy out the bit of the wave that I wanted for a ringtone, save the file as a .m4a and then rename that file to a .m4r for importing as a ringtone in iTunes. I've never had an issue with this process until iOS 5.
Since updating, not all of the ringtones I've created sync to my iPhone 4. I've tried recreating several of them and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. of the 43 ringtones I see in my iTunes library, only 26 actually sync. I checked to make sure that iTunes is set to sync all ringtones for my device and tried recreating some of them. I noticed that even ringtones that I didn't create myself are not syncing, as the free ringtone for "Want You Gone" off the Portal 2 OST from Valve will not transfer!
i am trying to transfer ringtones that i download from an app to itune but i download itune on my pc and connected with iphone but dont know what to do next
Samsung Rant (M540) on Boost, How in the word do I add mp3 ringtones, put them on my phone but cannot set as ringtone. I've researched this for days, maybe something about DRM? And if that freak of a moderator puts my post in a thread where it does not belong 1 more time, I'll pout. LOL But really now Stop putting everybodies post under wrong phones/problems, we will never receive help that way.
Having issues with the S6 ringtone and message alerts? I copied a folder called media to my S6 when I first updated to 5.1.1 and I could select my ringtone and message alert tone from this folder, but yesterday it went back to default and now i can't select anything in the media folder, coincidentally my video folder i used to be able to see is now not showing in the video player but is there if i browse my files?? Is there a cache clear for the system ringtone notification app?
My friend upgraded my sister's OS with v5.0.0.509 (bundle {18}, Platform 3.5.0.44) and I just discovered that is also wiped out all the Sample ringtones on the Device Memory. Anyone know where I can download that ringtone bundle, or transfer from my 8330 (although the device memory sample ringtones are "read only")? Or, do I have to reload an OS. If that's the case, any tips on websites with a v5. FYI: I'm using a Mac.
I got a new iphone 4 phone a couple days ago bc i was having issues with my original iphone 4. I purchased a ringtone on itunes on the iphone. Can I get that on my new iphone?
I have 2 ringtones on my phone which I purchased. Can I transfer those to my husband's phone as we are on a shared plan or do I have to purchase new ones for his if he wants the ringtones?
I have downloaded a ringtone and the app says to import it to the "ringtones" tab in itunes but I cannot find such a tab. I have the app downloaded to my iphone 4s but cannot find a way to attach it to a contact.
Which folder is being accessed for ringtones. I know how to get to the point of changing the tone: Menu > Settings > Sound but the list of available ringtones is super short considering how many I have on my SD card. There are several basic AT&T/Motorola tones and then a couple of random ones of mine, but I'm not even sure how those made the list. I set one of the tones/files on my SD card for my "default" ringtone many months ago, but it's not coming up now on the aforementioned list.
I even created a new folder on my SD card called Ringtones (because I had a bunch of random folders on there... Music, Tones, Audio, Sounds), but there is absolutely no way -- as far as I can see -- that I can use/access ANY of them for setting as a ringtone, default or otherwise. When I go into the Sound Settings, as previously mentioned, the list is not using the Ringtones folder from my SD card. Do I need to move tones from the SD card to the phone in order to use them? If so, then how or to where.
Often make my own ringtones using Garageband on my Mac. Transfer the tone from Garageband into iTunes (can either be shared as a specific ringtone file ('mpr' I believe), or can transfer as a regular song ('mp3').Then I use Bluetooth to send the new ringtone file from the Mac to the Phone (E7-00, Symbian Anna). It gets stored, initially, in the E:/Received Files folder. Fair enough. But now here's the problem - where can I store the new ringtone file after that, so it would appear in the phone's 'Tones' folder, the one that's displayed when I want to, e.g., change the ringtone / text-message / email alert, altogether? What I'm getting at is that I'd very much like my new ring / alert tone to feature on the default list of all the Nokia-assigned ringtones that comes as standard with the phone?Otherwise, it appears I have to save the file in the generic songs list to be played (and used as a ring / alert tone), amongst all the other actual music I listen to with the Music Player function, which I don't want to do...
I have Samsung Moment the notification ringtones are ogg files. Anyone knows how to pull them off the sd card. When converted it puts it in music folder but you can select them from there
I have searched high & low for drivers for this phone. When connected via. USB, it shows up in Dev. manager as drivers not loaded. They are not on Verizons/Samsung website.Phone is viewable in "My Computer" as "Samsung Phone Browser" .Have tried using Samsung PC Studio 7, but it will not recognize the phone.Just want to transfer some ringtones.
