IPhone :: Restrict The Notifications To Only The Inbox?
Mar 29, 2012
Every time I delete an e-mail, whether it be on my phone or computer I get a notification that there is a new e-mail in the deleted items folder. Is there a way that I can restrict the notifications to only the inbox? Essentially I am being notified that I deleted an e-mail, which is annoying.
Noticed a little while ago that some emails I was waiting for were sitting in Inbox (the app) all along. I've done some troubleshooting (reboot, clear cache, clear data, bouncing the notification settings in the app, bouncing sync).
In the end I uninstalled inbox and enabled gmail and went through all the above with that but no difference. Test emails, as well as genuine ones are all turning up immediately but I get no notification on the notification bar, led, no sound/vibrate etc.
I've tried in safe mode - same thing. I've turned priority mode on and off too.
I did finally get the latest sony update a couple of days ago and I can't be certain this has worked properly since then (Inbox, which I quite like, is set to not notify me for the majority of emails i get.
After a long wait, my company renegotiated our cell phone plan, and I've upgraded from an iPhone 4 to an HTC One M9. So far I'm really enjoying it, save for a few minor details.
I have two email accounts. A gmail account (personal) and an exchange account (work). I really dislike the stock email app so I switched to TypeMail. I really like the layout and the unified inbox; however, more often than not read emails on my computer, and doing so doesn't clear notifications on my phone. This is something I never had a problem with on my iPhone. Reading emails on my computer generally doesn't make them appear as read IN the TypeMail inbox on on the TypeMail widget either. I have to refresh. This is true for both email accounts.
I have been given a lumia 950 at work but used to have an android based phone. I have configured my work email and can see the inbox and all other folders as I should.
The problem then starts here, on my desktop outlook I have email rules that move new emails from certain people into relevant folders for them but on the lumia I only see a notification saying there is new email in the inbox and not for the other folders I have. On the android I used to have this would show all new emails on one screen even if they were in another folder.
How can I be notified of new emails arriving into other folders within my mailbox or have them showing up on the first screen like the android or otherwise the phone will be unusable as I will miss too many important work emails because they don't show me notifications that they have arrived.
My Iphone4 email inbox is showing there is over 1,000 messages in the inbox but in fact there is only a few and email on my pc shows correctly. I cannot get the phone to show me the correct number of messages. Apart from this problem all email related things are working correctly.
Does anyone know how to set my phone access to my e-mail a/c so that it does not automatically allow access. Is it possible to restrict access i.e. with a password?
I need to be able to restrict mobile network outgoing calls. I want the iphone to receive calls, but dialing out needs a password or is somehow disabled. Ideally this would be done adding "phone" to the restrictions list so that making a call would require a password, but unfortunately Apple decided not to have "Phone" listed in settings>general>restrictions.Any ideas/workarounds/jaibroken apps?
i don't understand why it is not possible to restrict access to messages and mail, this feature is important in different cases like:
you give you child a phone and don't want to text all day with their friends, also if your kid is less than 13 years you could block this feature so that he can't chat with strangers.
also this feature is important because if you enable this feature you could have 2 different passwords for accesing messages or mail, this is important when your friends or family knows your main password but they don't know they password for restricted apps.
why would some one wants to block Internet, camera, safari, and other apps but you can't block messages or mail?
We all hand our phones to friends, colleagues, children, for them to use for various reasons but I can't be the only one that doesn't want everyone I hand my phone to to have access to my personal messages and information.
Looking for a guest user pass code solution that would allow the owner of the phone to choose what the guest has access to, like the guest user on a computer.
We are introducing iPhone into the business but have a question regarding security. We need to restrict user access to the settings on the iphone probably via a passcode. We also need the user to have access to their emails (which when using exchange enforces a passcode). Is this the same passcode that is used for both by default? Because if it is then by allowing the user access to their emails they would by default have access to the code that allows them to change the settings of the iphone? How I can achieve something similar.
I've just bought a Nokia 5800 handset recently. It seems to me that even though I actually saved a contact's number in my phone, when he messages me the phone inbox only shows his number and not his name, even though I already saved his number under my phonebook.
Is there anyway to solve this such that it'll display his name instead? Its kind of pointless if I have to keep checking back to my phonebook to see who has messaged me, since I don't remember my friend's numbers and stuff.
On a note I saved all of my friend's number without the region number. That is as im living in Singapore, a contact's number would be saved as follows: 91234567 without the region code of +65. Thing is in my inbox all the phone number displayed shows the region code of +65 along with the number, but seriously even my super old phone can recognise that both 91234567 and +6591234567 are of the same person and displays the name correctly in the inbox.
So I set up my gmail account via the BIS or whatever plug-in, and all seems to be working ok. The problem is that the emails go straight to my general "Messages" inbox, but nothing shows up in my Gmail account inbox when i click on that specific icon. I do have SMS/MMS broken out into a separate inbox, but i'd like to use the gmail inbox where it threads messages with the same topic instead of the general messages inbox.tried resending service books.
I don't know why this happened, I woke up this morning and it was like this. Whenever I try to open my email inbox the SMS inbox opens. Even if I go directly to my individual accounts on my BB (yahoo and gmail) and try to open them directly, it still opens my SMS inbox. I can't figure this out and can't find an answer. I have to check all my emails my going onto a computer. I still get notifications of new emails on my BB, but can't view them because only the SMS inbox will come up. I need my email inbox to show when I click on my email inbox.
i have black berry storm 9530. when i try to make a call it gave me" Identity Restriction not subscribed turn feature off and try again" and i cannot call, how can i restrict my identity.
My BB Curve 8530 was stolen. I changed my passwords for email and facebook. I filed a police report and discontinued service to that phone. What else do I need to do? Is there a way to wipe my phone remotely so that person doesn't have my contacts? Do I need to do anything to make sure this person doesn't get to use my phone?
I was wondering if it is possible to restrict any installed application on N97 to restrict accessing Internet or network or sending any sms without asking permission?I have installed VOPIUM client and its automatically keep on sending SMS and huge list of SMS billing for me ot UK .Java applications can be disabled by using Java Suit in Application Manager but I am not able to find any settings for SIS files.
But is there anyway that I can block or restrict certain numbers from my phone? That is, to have the phone send that particular number/call straight to voicemail with the call just showing in my call log. I would like to if this can be done from the phone without additional software. Or can someone recommend a program that can accomplish this. (Ideally, a free software!)
I have set up sync profile for my calendar on Nokia E72. However I am not able to find following features. => How to restrict the sync for just say a week with my calendar server ? Currently when I synchronized, all my calendar entries got updated on my phone.=> How to automatically synchronize the sync profile ? I do not see any options Any inputs are welcome?
I want to specify at the application level whether or not mobile data can be used - is there any way this can be done on the Galaxy S6 ? Restricting background data doesn't do this. I also don't want to set mobile data limits, or have to monitor mobile data usage. I simply want to know whether or not mobile data can be turned off for certain applications so that they only work when in a WiFi area
is there any way to restrict the folders accessed by the gallery on the 5800?
it's getting increasingly annoying that every piece of album art in a music folder i copy onto my memory card, and every single jpg used by any installed applications, just automatically gets added to the gallery when i don't want it to, nor need it to.is there any way to stop it? none of the files are being added to the image folder, the phone just seems to automatically add EVERYTHING with no thought for where it is and why it's on the phone.
want to be able to restrict the outgoing calls completely. So, if i want to make a call then a pincode must be entered and then the call can be made and if the code is wrng then the call cant be made. I tried doing the Menu>settings>managecalls>restrict calls> all outgoing. But when i enter any pincode i get an error saying "all outgoing command error". I currently hve a w595 and if it worked would this work, if this sim was put in any other phone, I mean would it ask for a pincode again or would I have to set tht up separetly on that phone?
