I reset my iphone 3gs, erasing all data and contents. The process seemed to go as planned, but now I'm stuck with my phone showing just the apple logo,, nothing else.
The phone is not recognized by any of my machines, I've tried everything.
None of the buttons on the phone seem to do anything - I can't switch it off with the top right power button, not by pressing or holding it, it doesn't react to any other button or combination of buttons. It only switchs off by pressing the power + home combination.
I tried with the phone disconnected from everything, tried connecting to the pc, to power supply, no change.
Also tried the tips to hold buttons and than connect the usb, I think I pretty much covered any combination and solution I could find or think of, now I'm more or less out of options.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to restore my 3Gs. It was jailbroken on 3.1.3. The restore failed. I tried using tiny umbrella and RecBoot and it still said i could only restore and upgrade, so i decided after trying that a bunch of times to just do the manual reset from within the settings on the phone. It was on the apple logo with the spinnging thing for like an hour, and now its just stuck on the apple logo. I put it into DFU and tried exiting DFU (like i did earlier) using recboot but now it just wont leave the apple logo.

I have a iPhone 3gs, it is stuck at the apple logo screen and when I plug it in to my computer to reset it, it asks for a password I forgot. I won't sync!
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've changed my apple id and changed password; but when I try to "update" my apps..it reverts back to my old apple id.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this is everywhere, but my case is different. I had problems with my lockscreen which never turned off. I went to another forum and asked for tips, they said to Reset All settings (not erase all content). I did that, and guess what, it is stuck in the apple logo and sometimes with the spinning wheel. Now I CANNOT go into DFU mode because I do not have a backup of anything and if I restore im screwed and all my apps, contact, etc. will go away. I have access to the iPhone system folders (iFunbox, diskaid, etc.)
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy phone went under recovery mode after a quick dip in some water today, after plugging it in and doing a factory reset, it went to the 'Hello, hola, bonjour' screen. When asked to enter my Apple ID & password to activate my phone, it said the email was incorrect. I've called Apple & they said it was the corresponding email. I've used the same Apple ID to sign into everything; iTunes, iCloud online, Facetime on my MacBook Air. I even used it to sign in to ask this question .. It's just my phone that won't accept my Apple ID.
Also, when plugged into my laptop, error 2005 & 9 came up.

It had been working fine until this morning when the iPhone is now stuck in the loop of restarting and stuck in the Apple logo screen.I have tried to hold both the sleep and Home button to reset. But, it just goes back to the same loop.Since the iPhone does not reach the Passcode screen, it is not even recognized by iTunes. So, I cannot restore it, either. How should I proceed?
Apps and the Appstore are without doubt one of the key features and strengths of iPhone & iPad. They are one of the reasons why I'm using an iPhone and why I've ordered an iPad. However, many useful apps seem to eat up more and more memory for no obvious reason. For example, recently I deleted and reinstalled an IT news app that needs about 11MB itself, but memory usage had grown to over 100MB. These apps normally load new stuff from the internet at startup. As one typically only wants to read the latest news, there is no need to waste more memory than needed and no one can tell me that such news apps need lots of MB for some text and a few small-sized images.
It is not quite "Apple-like" that I need to delete and then re-install such apps (which also requires looking them up in the appstore app and then entering my itunes password, downloading, re-installing, finally placing the app where it used to be). Therefore I wonder whether upcoming iOS versions could get a feature that simply enables resetting apps without deleting them. Ideally one could choose to keep user settings and only delete temporary data. If I now check memory usage, I can only delete the whole app, which is not what I actually want as I told above. I just want to free up some memory from time to time, memory that is just wasted for whatever. I'm not familiar with iOS programming, therefore I don't know if it's possible/useful to separate the memory into distinct parts: one for the actual code of the app, user settings, and temporary data. Maybe that's how it's done already.

The story so far: I bought an accessory in Nov 2011 at an Apple Retail Store. (Philips dual-dock speaker) It started malfunctioning in Mar 2012. (Dock not charging anymore) I brought it to an Apple Store (closer to my place), they were happy to replace it on the spot, except that there was none in stock. So I was advised to go to an other Store (the original one), where they had stock. So far, so good for service. I went to the other store, but there I was told that they could not replace it because I had bought it more than 14 days before, so I had to contact the manufacturer directly! So my questions are:
- What is, if any, the actual policy on non-Apple product repair & replacement?
- Why don't all store follow the same policy?
- Should I just try my luck again with another person, until I strike gold and get it replaced?

I made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?
