IPhone :: Not Being Able To Connect To Wi-fi At Home?
May 29, 2012
will updating to iOS 5 fix the issue i am currently having of not being able to connect to wi-fi at home? i had my phone alomost 2 years and was able to connect until a month a go or so and not i can't.
Up until recently I've had no issues with my iPhone 4, however, as of late, the phone can't detect my home WiFi network. I have several other devices that can find and connect to the network without issue, and have power cycled the router to be sure. the issue is most definately with the phone itself. iPhone has no issues connecting with public WiFi networks at McDonalds, Starbucks, nor the Airport. As far as iPhone is concerned, there is no WiFi networks to connect to in my home. I can't remember if this issue began before or after I installed 5.1 on my phone. I'd like to try all avenues before fully resetting the phone, as I have alot of data, settings and un-backed-up photographs, documents, etc. I'd rather not risk losing. So far, I have reset the phone (Hold Home and Power until phone resets.), Reset network settings, turned the phone on and off both with WiFi turned on and off to no avail. For the record, I have searched out and read alot of threads on this issue, and tried many if not all of the suggestions contained therein. Most of these issues pertain to iPhone not detecting ANY networks, or detecting but not connecting.
All of a sudden I cannot connect to my home wifi, nor home wifi at my daughters house. It finds the connection right away, but after putting in the password, I immediately get a message "unable to connect to ......" I have tried connecting to free wifis at public places and it connects fine. The password on mine has not been changed, nor has my daughters?
I bought an iphone 4s yesterday, and last night I connected to wifi at a friend's house. This morning, when I tried to connect it to my home wifi, it wouldn't work. I've tried changing the wifi setting in my phone, and turning my router on and off, and resetting the wifi settings in the phone.
I have a D-Link DIR-825 Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router connected to my Telus high speed modem at home. The router has been set up for WPA-2 security with a 63-character passphrase. A 17" Macbook Pro (2010) (built-in Airport) and a homebuilt PC (2011) running Windows 7 (D-Link DWA-160 Xtreme N Dual Band USB Adaptor) are able to connect to the router. I have copied the same passphrase to the Notes section of my iPhone 4S and then tried to connect to the network. Passphrase is correct. Connection times out and says it was not able to connect.
I just got a replacement iphone 4s and am having trouble connecting to my home network. When I type in my password it says it cannot connect to the network. Before I got my replacement, my previous 4s was able to connect to the same network.
My iphone 4s is having problem connecting to my home router. (ASUS)I was able to connect my home router using my laptop, and my Iphone can see all the nnetwork in the building, but it just did not connet.I am at work and my iphone is able to connect to work wireless. What can be wrong?
I have tried both turning on and off the wifi on the phone. I have done the forget this network and reinput the wep password, I have reset the router 3 times. I am sitting next to the router and my macbook pro ( which is connecting with no problem) I have input the wep password perfectly.
My iPhone will not connect to my home wifi. My iPad is connected and my husbands phone is connected.¬ My cell¬ phone gives me the error message it is unable to locate my wifi address. Do I have an incorrect setting? How do I connect?
so, lately my phone started acting up whenever it comes to connecting to my home wifi.
this problem started not long ago. when im standing right next to the router it connects. but if i move a step away i start losing signa;. so even if im in the room with the router i barely get any wifi (while all the other devices work even from outside the house)¬
but when im out it connects to other wifi's (eg the McDonals wifi) and it works perfectly
i reset my network settings& restored my iphone but¬ it didnt solve anything.
My husband and I recently purchased the iPhone 4S. Exact same phone. His will connect to the home WiFi, but mine won't.Any ideas on why? We checked the settings and both have the same settings on our phone. It will bring up the WiFi name, and when I add the password, it says that I am unable to join.
I can not connect my new iPhone 4S to my home WiFi network, whereas other networks are OK. A possbile explanation - the password contains 26 characters, and I haven't tracked don't how to change that password.
Yesterday my iPhone was connecting to my home wifi and it was fine. Today it wont connect for no aparent reason. I have restored the phone, reset networked settings and much more but still no good result. It keeps asking me for my password when i have typed it like thousands of times. Is there any fix for this?
