May 15, 2012I can make calls but I cant receive all of the calls. What happends is the phone rings then you swipe the screen to receive then there is nothing but the call has been answered, sometimes(not all) I can put on the microphone to fix this but this does nt work all the time.
The person is on the other end and No "mute has not been hit" the only thing i can think of is a loose wire internally or a software problem?? that does not mean its right, hence I am asking?

May 18, 2012I haven't been able to make or receive phone calls on my iPhone 4 for the past 3 days. I've restored the phone and network settings and it still doesn't work. The phone will "make" the call, but there is no connection via audio on either side of the connection. When someone tries to call me, the phone either freezes on the incoming call screen (and rings, and rings, and rings until I shut it down completely), or it just doesn't connect as far as audio, again on both sides of the connection.

May 21, 2012Ok so i recently got an iphone 4. I have a problem that if someone tries to call me and i answer i can hear them but they cant hear me. Even if i put speaker or a headset they still cant hear me. I looked thru the settings and i dont see anything that can interrupt it. I tried doing the voice record and it records my voice but doesnt the voice record use the same mic when you make calls? I mean if it is then theres something thats blocking me from talking when someone calls me.

May 31, 2012I have 2 iPhones, iPhone 4 16 GB and iPhone 4s 16 GB, both using a T-mobile UK monthly plan.when I use viber app (viber free calling) on data plan I can speak and hear the reciepient for 10 seconds, after that there is no sound, and the call just disconnect, if I use wifi for calling from viber, everything is fine.I think the problem is with the carrier, but I searched for discussions and troubleshooting from t-mobile website and had no luck.by the way, the APN setting on my iphone does not show, because it is automatically set by the carrier, however, everuthing else require the use of internet works just fine in the iPhone, except for the Viber problem I pointed out.

Jun 2, 2012I upgraded my iphone 4 from AT&T about 3 weeks ago to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1, I think. It could have been 5.1. I still get texts, everything works perfectly except my phone application!It hardly ever makes phones calls, it dials and connects to the other end both recieving and outgoing, but there is no sound and the speaker phone button is highlighted. The person on the other end has no audio either. It does this for 95% of phone calls, but even the bug is incosistent; every once in a while I can make or recieve a call without a problem. I restored my phone without installing the saved backup several times, problem continues. I'm convinced it's the software upgrade.

Jun 13, 2012iPhone 4S will not making outgoing calls. I don't know if I can get calls or not, but outgoing calls are a no go. It stays stuck on "calling" and never connects or says call failed. Can't even connect to voicemail, and all the messages I had saved are no longer listed on the voicemail screen. It's just blank, but I can't call voicemail manually because it won't connect. Texting seems to still work, sometimes. Occasionally, I'll get the "Message Send Failure" notice, but usually the texting works fine, even though the phone does not. I've restarted, rebooted, changed the date and time settings like I read somewhere, and nothing has worked. I'm running 5.1.1 and it is not jailbroken.

Mar 19, 2012I have an iPhone 4 with Verizon. I have the message plan unlimited. Recently after installing the update sometimes I can't text people. I can iMessage, and receive regular messages also. When this happens I can't make phone calls either. Full bars and 3G is fine. Everything works fine besides sending text and making phone calls. I have talked with Verizon. Go to apple and the give me a new phone because it's a software problem on my phone. Now with the new phone same problems. I have reset the network. I have turn off iMessage. Also tried reboot, and restore.

Mar 27, 2012So lately I've noticed that some of the phone calls I make now have either choppy reception or the person on the other end can't hear me at all, no matter how much I yell into the mic. Its not the mute button, and I've had the problem happen to me a handful of times on completely random occassions. Sometimes I get good call quality, other times the person on the other end can't hear a single word I've said.
I've also noticed another oddity on my phone. Sometimes if a contact calls me, it shows up as a Blocked Call. This has happened when my family has tried to call or friends. Its also a problem that is completely random on my phone.
Anyone know anything that could help me out here? I'm not sure if the issues are related to me once dropping my phone. It has a small little scuff on the right top corner as a small little battle scar, and I'm not sure if that caused something to go wonky inside the phone itself, and if that totally voids my ability to get a replacement phone or not.
