May 30, 2012I have downloaded a new audio book, but when I sync my phone, it doesn't get transferred. I can do a general search on my phone and find it when I'm home, most likely due to home sharing, but it doesn't exist in the Music app. Am I doing something wrong?

Jun 9, 2012When I imported Address Book to my iPhone, it also imported my prefix field. When I receive a known phone call or I am searching for a contact, all I can see is "Mr. and Mrs...." in the screen. Certainly I need the prefix for my Macbook when writing letters, address labels, etc., but not in my iPhone. I cannot seem to find a satisfactory way to delete the prefix on my iPhone.
I did think about making a copy of AB and then deleting the prefixes, but even that seems difficult as (so far) the only way I can make that work is my deleting each prefix, individually. I have a thousand contacts and that seems awfully laborious. Finally, I'm not even sure how I could merge that into iPhone without screwing up my original Address Book.

I am wondering if there is a way to delete contacts from my phone, while keeping them in the address book of my Macbook? I have many contacts that I would like to keep permanently for future use, but am hoping to clean up the contacts on my actual phone. Each time I delete a contact from the iPhone, the contact is simultaneously deleted from my Macbook address book.

Mar 2, 2010I downloaded a CSV file of 2800 contacts to my new (used) BB 8700c. Turns out most of the contacts were garbled. I'd like to delete them all from the BB 8700c and start over. Is there any way to do a "select all" and then delete? Or even to shade multiple contact listings, scrolling down, and then delete? So far all I can see is being able to delete one by one, which would be impossible with 2800. My desktop manager software was installed for my BB Curve 8330 (Sprint). It seems to work partially for the BB 8700c (unlocked, formerly Cingular) but is unable to recognize applications on the device, and reports that a "certificate" is missing preventing use of the Media Manager (this may be because the 8700c does not have a camera so may not handle photos).

It seems that I end up with multiple copies of a contact and then the synch gives me an error code 0x80040fb3 - error encountered. I tried to delete all of the contacts in the address book and resych. After attempting to delete the contacts, there are seven versions of the same contact. I cannot open or delete the contact. I have tried deleting the address book from the Blackberry desktop but that did not work.

Jan 20, 2012I was trying to create a sub folder in my address book & now I can't find my original add book. The add book icon is still there, but there are no contacts in it. The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. But if i go to sms/mms & do compose sms it shows "No Addresses"....well I spoke too soon...now if i go to email & type in a letter it don't show a list of ppl that begin with that letter.... I have tried taking the battery out with the phone off & on & it's still the same....

This problem started recently. My bluetooth headset connects, and can trigger the call to be answered, but the iPhone doesn't use it as the audio source. In fact, the button that normally selects the sources, now shows only the speaker icon (and toggles speakerphone).
After updating to 5.1, it seemed to be fixed -- that same button again let me choose the audio source. That was yesterday, but today when I answered a call, it didn't go to the headset, and the source button again shows only the speaker icon.
The iPhone answers the call when I press the button on the headset. It's just not seeing any audio source.
I've powered on & off, not fixing the problem. I can't poinpoint the start of the trouble exactly -- it seemed to simply work one day and not work the next. I honestly don't remember if it coincided with updating to 5.01.

Sometimes the audio will work fine (notice this more when I'm on WiFi) but sometimes, in all apps (snapchat, facebook, regular gallery view) the video will play but the audio will cut in and out.
Not sure what it is. Phone is rooted (systemless) and is running the EX Kernel. I didn't mess with the audio settings in the EX Manager...
This is a huge issue for me as I spend a lot of time on Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube (I'm a vlogger, etc.).
Motorola Droid Razr :: Audio Pop Or Click Before And After Audio Plays?
Feb 28, 2012I've had two Razr's behave the same, whenever audio plays, especially using the headphone jack and external speakers, one can hear an audiable click or pop just before and after the audio plays. This happens with Pandora, Rhapsody, and Google Navigator. I haven't tested other audio based apps yet.Verizon and Motorola say they've not heard of this issue, so I'm wondering how many other Razr owners have noticed this pop? Hearing such noises as the audio turns on and off is not acceptable quality for a Motorola branded phone.I don't know enough about how the Android OS works, but I'm thinking there are two possible causes. First, as different apps access the audio hardware the internal electronics of the phone produce an audible pop as the circuits power up and down. Alternatively, the Android OS may be probing the headpone jack trying to determine if it's connected to external speakers. I've noticed that the pop gets louder as the phone approaches 100% charge.
With a 90% charge or better I've even had the audio output go quiet if the headset cable is moved, even though the audio application shows audio is playing. I know that removing the headset cable will pause the player, but in this case hitting play starts the player and it shows progress, but no audio is heard.
Motorola Droid :: Distorted Audio When Using Headphones, Audio Jack?
Nov 9, 2011I've been using my Moto Droid, running Android 2.2.2 for some time now. Up until recently, I've been able to use it to listen to Pandora and mp3s loaded onto the phone. Now, any time I plug a set of headphones into the audio jack, the audio is really distorted. It sounds like a channel is out or something, and this happens across all volume levels. It pretty much sounds like you're listening to music underwater. Doesn't matter if it's streaming adio through Pandora or mp3 audio. When I unplug the headset (any headset, mind you) and go to external speaker, the audio is fine.
