BB Bold :: Way To Delete Duplicate Entries In Address Book?
Dec 1, 2011
Somehow my Bold made a duplicate entry for each address I have in my address book. I don't know how or why this happened, but now when I go to sync my device with Outlook, it wants to put all those duplicated addresses on my desktop. Is there a way to delete duplicate entries in my address book?
How I can delete duplicate contact and address book entries on my Storm 2 (running .428). I initially installed Google Sync app which synced the contacts correctly without duplicates but the address book entries got duplicated. I subsequently added my Gmail account using the built-in email set up, now I have duplicate contacts. On the web, there are no duplicates on neither the address book nor my contacts. I have disabled the contact sync on the Google Sync, with no luck. I searched the forum and it seems there are others that have reported the same problems but no real solutions have been offered.
When I go to compose a new email, and I hit the first letter, I get a list of all the email addresses that have ever emailed me or that I have sent an email to. Question: How the heck do I delete certain entries from this list? Or how do I just clear the entire list? I prefer to delete certain entries like Outlook allows me to, but for some reason I cant find out how to do this on Blackberry Email.
.ics file to add some calendar entries into my N8 calendar. But somehow the same calendar file was added multiple times and now I have 5 duplicate calendar entries for each day.Is there a way to delete these calendar entries without deleting my old calendar entries? The .ics file was a fixture list of a club and has a lot of entries so deleting them one entry by entry is not an option.
I had an EVO. it synced all my facebook contacts with my phonebook contacts. So i could look at pics and statuses from my phonebook. Im assuming this phonebook doesnt work that way. it added facebook contacts before i got to add my real contact list. so now there are doubles of some ppl . and some of my contacts that dont have their phone #'s on fb, i cant link them to my contacts like the EVO would. Also, some contacts that i had linked to facebook show up now with a NOTE under them with a HTClink:for their facebook. (if you can understand that) Also the contacts that say they do have a facebook. when i click go to their page. its just goes to mine. so the links must be screwed up.
Having just bought a "Bold 9700" I am new to the BlackBerry-World. I would like to sync my emails (e.g. the emails I wrote and sent on the road) and the adress book entries of the device (software version 5.0.0.423) with "Windows Mail" on my home computer (OS Visa, SP 2). Up to now I couldn't find out how to do this, either with the "Desktop Manager" (version 5.0.1) or with some other piece of software (???). Potentialy it looks like the "DesktopManager" could be up to this task, but the box to check for this is not highlighted, so I can not select this option.
I have checked the many forums on here, but still haven't really found an answer. When I sync my blackberry with DM for Mac my Blackberry ends up with multiple entries that are duplicated. I have even tried clicking the erase the info on blackberry box in DM, and it doesn't do it. It makes triple or quadruple entries then. My iCal is perfect though. It doesn't happen every time I sync my BB, just sometimes. does anyone have a solution?
After performing the most recent upgrade, I have noticed that calendar entries that I enter directly into my blackberry 9700 are giving me duplicate reminders. I don't sync calendar entries at all and there is only 1 calendar entry in the calendar, but I end up needing to dismiss 2 reminders for each entry. Interestingly enough, if I update the calendar entry, after that, I only get 1 reminder going forward.
I have S'ony Xperia X8. The address book icon desappear of the screen corner (emails/music/numbers and address book). How can I put it in that place again?
I downloaded a CSV file of 2800 contacts to my new (used) BB 8700c. Turns out most of the contacts were garbled. I'd like to delete them all from the BB 8700c and start over. Is there any way to do a "select all" and then delete? Or even to shade multiple contact listings, scrolling down, and then delete? So far all I can see is being able to delete one by one, which would be impossible with 2800. My desktop manager software was installed for my BB Curve 8330 (Sprint). It seems to work partially for the BB 8700c (unlocked, formerly Cingular) but is unable to recognize applications on the device, and reports that a "certificate" is missing preventing use of the Media Manager (this may be because the 8700c does not have a camera so may not handle photos).
How can I delete all contacts in the Address Book?
OR
How can I get a new contact list to over ride an existing contact?
be aware that I have more than 2,100 well sorted contacts in a current T-Mobile 4G Slide contact list. I think that the deleting is the cleanest solution, but I'll try anything that works.
I have had several issues with synching my Curve 8530 with MS Outlook. It seems that I end up with multiple copies of a contact and then the synch gives me an error code 0x80040fb3 - error encountered. I tried to delete all of the contacts in the address book and resych. After attempting to delete the contacts, there are seven versions of the same contact. I cannot open or delete the contact. I have tried deleting the address book from the Blackberry desktop but that did not work.
When I imported Address Book to my iPhone, it also imported my prefix field. When I receive a known phone call or I am searching for a contact, all I can see is "Mr. and Mrs...." in the screen. Certainly I need the prefix for my Macbook when writing letters, address labels, etc., but not in my iPhone. I cannot seem to find a satisfactory way to delete the prefix on my iPhone.
I did think about making a copy of AB and then deleting the prefixes, but even that seems difficult as (so far) the only way I can make that work is my deleting each prefix, individually. I have a thousand contacts and that seems awfully laborious. Finally, I'm not even sure how I could merge that into iPhone without screwing up my original Address Book.
I currently have my iPhone contacts synched with my Macbook Pro address book. I am wondering if there is a way to delete contacts from my phone, while keeping them in the address book of my Macbook? I have many contacts that I would like to keep permanently for future use, but am hoping to clean up the contacts on my actual phone. Each time I delete a contact from the iPhone, the contact is simultaneously deleted from my Macbook address book.
i have blackberry 9810 and i want to send my contacts from my address book on my macbook pro to my blackberry . i installed the blackberry desktop software Then I connect my blacberry to my macbook pro and the sync started .the calender , notes , tasks was Synchronized and every thing was ok but the contacts didnt Synchronize and I do not know why..
I have just synced my new blackberry bold 9780 with my pc via the desktop software. The first time it synced no problem as all but I now have duplicate contacts for both email address's and now it wont sync at all. Comes up with an error saying yahoo server is temporary unavailable. This happened with my old blackberry too and I never did manage to get it solved as Vodafone was saying its Yahoo problem and yahoo was saying it was a vodafone problem.
I accidentally synced with 'overwrite' clicked. I thought it would 'overwrite' all entries, but instead, it added all the entries so all of my entries are listed twice. How can I clear all of the entries on the blackberry bold and then resync with my computer to restore them?
I have a 4S, and recently when I input an event into my iCalendar on my Mac, then snyc my phone it creates duplicate events on the same day. Then, it won't allow me to edit or delete any of those events on my phone. In ordet to do so, I have to go back into the iCalendar and delete there, and resync..
I had done a 'RSET' to clear the contacts in the address book. Now I find that I am unable to save new contacts. Is there any way to resolve this problem without having to reinstall the OS.
I have a problem with deleted names and numbers in my address book coming back and also multiple contacts appearing in my contact list. I delete and sync with my online and desktop and it still happens.
I cannot modify or add a new contact in my book address on my mobile. Type of mobile is BlackBerry 9700 Bold. I have already restart the phone by dismantling the battery 3 to 4 times. What shall I do to make the application works?
I have a problem to sync my contact list using Blackberry Desktop Software. the problem is only 29 out of my 300+ contacts are synced. In my BB phone i noticed that in "Contacts/Options" there are two Contact Lists both with the name "Desktop". the first one has 29 entries and the "Wireless Synchronization" option is available but for the second contact list which has the rest of my contacts, the "Wireless Synchronization" is not available ! it seems that Blackberry Desktop Software can not sync with the second Contact List because of this.
I was trying to create a sub folder in my address book & now I can't find my original add book. The add book icon is still there, but there are no contacts in it. The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. But if i go to sms/mms & do compose sms it shows "No Addresses"....well I spoke too soon...now if i go to email & type in a letter it don't show a list of ppl that begin with that letter.... I have tried taking the battery out with the phone off & on & it's still the same....
