I have both a .mac and a .me address and I prefer to use the .mac address. on iCloud I can choose which to send from. my iPhone will only send from .me (it's grayed out) I'm signed into my account as .mac.

I named it to a .caf and it works fine playing it in quicktime on the machine.I sshed into the iphone directory / System / Library/ Audio/UISounds and changed the file called new-mail.caf.So i did that rebooted. Sent myself a test email.. No sound or vibrate.. Nothing.Changed it back to the original, works as intended.

I've saved it under Visual Voicemail, and it plays if I play it there, but when somebody calls, it plays my old one. I have tried setting it by calling my voicemail and changing it there, but that still doesn't work. If I play my voicemail message from calling my voicemail, it plays my new one. When people call, it still plays my old message!

I use Webmail from Time Warner Cable (RoadRunner) for my e-mail. When I am using my e-mail on my home computer (using the internet to access webmail.wi.rr.com) and delete an item in my inbox, the e-mail still shows up on my phone. Additionally, when I delete an e-mail on my phone, it still shows up in my e-mail on my home computer (using the internet to access webmail.wi.rr.com). Does anyone know why this is happning and how I can get the inboxes to match one another?

However, in an attempt to fix the non-responsive screen I re-booted the device to factory settings (advice from EE) and restored the data from off the PC. However, it now seems to sync with my gmail account in preference to my Hotmail and as a result has duplicated all of my contacts. I use mulitiple email addresses in gmail (personal, business, etc), but when sending or replying with Nokia Mail it always uses the standard gmail address. I've even set my business address as the default in gmail settings, but when using Nokia Mail it still uses the standard gmail address instead.I've also tried gmail in Opera Mini and it allows me to choose different email addresses to send or reply from. I prefer the interface of Nokia Mail and the signature option, but if there is no way to change the "from" address I won't be able to use it. Is there any way to fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy iphone mail app regularly requires restart to get mail flowing. That is it is running (doesn't crash) but will at time just stop getting email updates. I then have to force close the mail app (i.e. kill it) and then restart it. After restarting it the mail flows again.
Notes:
a) I do connect to Gmail for my mail - I'm using the IMAP facility for gmail currently (i.e. not the "Exchange" method)
b) I do also have the Google "Gmail" app running on my device too
c) on iPhone 3GS, latest version of IOS

When I'm out and about, I pick up my mail on my iPad and/or on my iPhone. I HATE having to sift through the duplicates. I know I can delete the emails from the server as they are being downloaded, and that would solve the problem between the iDevices. But I still want a copy of them downloaded into Outlook on my desktop for future reference, so deleting them from the server before Outlook gets ahold of them does not seem like a good idea.I currently have a POP3 account, but I could move onto an Exchange Server or into iCloud or something else if that would solve the problem.

It was displaying "cannot get mail" and couldn't connect to the server, even after I updated my password on the phone. It seemed like it was reverting to my old password, even after I successfully changed it.Â
I switched to trying to access Yahoo through Mail - Other and it worked. I can receive my e-mails, but now it is not letting me send outgoing mails. It says "doesn't accept relays".
