Okay, so I was in the Facebook app on my iPhone 4, and then it froze for a split second and force-closed the Facebook app. Then I went back to check a text that I had gotten and all of my contacts were deleted. If so, how can it be fixed? I've already tried restoring from the last update and that didn't do any good.
Just got a new iPhone 4S and after I synced all of my contacts from my iMac,I realized that I really didn't want to put ALL of the contacts in my computer on my phone. (I have WAY more contacts in my computer than I need/want on my phone). Is there a way to "go back" to the original contact list that I put on my phone before I synced the contacts from my computer, or do I need to go through and delete them one by one?
I have an iphone 3GS. When I sync my phone all of my contact groups from Outlook transfer to my phone. I do not need all of these groups. if there is a way to delete Groups under Contacts off my phone?
I recently purchased an iPhone 4S (came from a droid) and my contact list was in gmail. The service provider "copied" my contacts from my old phone to my iPhone and when finished, most of them came over in triplicate. Is there a way to merge, delete duplicates; short of manually? If done, will they come back during a sync
Is there a way to delete email contacts that are automatically archived once you email the person? I no longer have the contacts listed in my contact list but they appear in the list when I begin to enter a similar starting contact (e.g. john doe for john dosson)?
I live in Guam and I can't update my contacts addresses. There isn't an option for Guam as a country, and when I pick the US it only shows addresses in the Continental US. I want to know if I there is any way to delete the country part of addresses in contacts or add Guam as a country? I just want to be able to use it as directions.
I erased my phone and copied my contacts via email but when I checked my contacts there is no delete option and also if I type any name it doesn't search that contact as that contact is already in my contacts
I have multiple groups in my iPhone contacts screen. I haven't found out how to delete a group list from phone contacts. So, how do you delete a Group List from iPhone contacts?

We have an apple family consisting of an iPhone 4, iPad2, and an iphone 3G which we just upgraded to an iPhone 4 today. When we were setting up the new iPhone 4 to connect to iCloud and our apple ID we accidentally merged all the contacts via iCloud from both iPhones into 1 large contact list (the same list on both phones). We keep separate contact lists for our phones, but use iCloud to sync everything else together. I already figured out how to turn off the syncing of the contacts, but is there any way to revert/delete or however you want to word it, the contacts list back to each phone having only their original contacts? When I turned off the contact syncing in the iCloud settings it did ask if I wanted to keep the contacts from icloud or delete them so out of fear of it deleting ALL my contacts I tapped Yes to keep them (probably the wrong choice there). On my wife's new phone it is no big deal, I just manually deleted the 20 or so contacts that were added from my phone, but she has 100+ contacts that are now on my phone that I would rather not delete one by one manually. I also figure I could just do a restore from a backup on my phone through iTunes, but its been a while since I did one and I would end up loosing recent data and contacts so that isn't an option.
I have deleted an email address from my Iphone 4 and the contact has defnately gone, but if I goto Email and compose a new message and type 1st few letters of that email address, then it appears. Can I remove it permanently so this doesnt happen.
Currently I am weeding my Outlook contacts and deleting loads, how can I make sure that these amendments/deletions are then synced on my phone? I.e. a one way operation so that the deleted and amended details from Outlook are implemented on my phone. My fear is that the deleted contacts will be transferred back onto my pc after syncing my phone or that something unecpected may happen due to my ignorance of the process.
I am concerned that when I wish to sync my iphone with my itunes, that it will erase all contacts, pictures, etc. If I am downloading and syncing my iphone for the first time will it delete all my contacts and photos?
can't addeditsavedelete contacts. Once I'm editing info in a contact as soon as I done it's like nothing happened. No special event I can point that caused this.Tried (by order):Turn off and on againHard resetBackup and restore using iTunesAll three didn't help resolving. GeariPhone 4 16GBOS 5.0.1 * I've also read about the switching on and off contacts sync on iCloud and other e-mail accounts such as Exchange or Gmail off for contacts sync - irrelevant in my case.
When I imported Address Book to my iPhone, it also imported my prefix field. When I receive a known phone call or I am searching for a contact, all I can see is "Mr. and Mrs...." in the screen. Certainly I need the prefix for my Macbook when writing letters, address labels, etc., but not in my iPhone. I cannot seem to find a satisfactory way to delete the prefix on my iPhone.
I did think about making a copy of AB and then deleting the prefixes, but even that seems difficult as (so far) the only way I can make that work is my deleting each prefix, individually. I have a thousand contacts and that seems awfully laborious. Finally, I'm not even sure how I could merge that into iPhone without screwing up my original Address Book.
