When i plug my iphone into my computer, it doesn't pop up in the devices column in itunes, but iphoto opens automatically asking me to import... I want to get my music off my computer, but this is problematic with itunes not recognizing my device!

When I search under Device manager there is absolutely nothing there. I was attempting to restore my phone yesterday and couldn't do it on my phone alone nor when plugged into my computer so I restored it to a back up on another computer. When i plug it into the the computer the phone does not make the noise that it should (the same noise when you put it on charge) the computer does not recognise the phone as any form of device or driver, the computer doesnt even charge the iphone. I have opened itunes manually and tried to force connection this way but that didnt work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of itunes and can also confirm that the apple mobile support is installed, I even repaired it just to be sure.I have tried 3 different cables and 3 different USB ports but still nothing.What makes this even more frustrating is that the computer and itunes does recognise my partners iphone 4.

I think it has something to do with Windows 7. The iPhone 4 is recognized by one user, but not recognized by iTunes for my daughters accounts/users. Yesterday I bought a brand new 5S. After configuring and charging it, I plugged it into my PC, which runs on Windows 8, and saw that there was an iOS 7.1.2 software update. I started the update but just when it was about to end, the loading bar changed to 'Waiting for iPhone' and my phone had the 'connect to iTunes' screen pop up. After about 10 minutes, I unplugged and replugged the phone, but iTunes had failed to recognize it and it was now stuck in recovery mode. My X10 is plugged into my computer through a usb cable, but my computer doesn't realize that it's connected. I've connected my phone before, but this is the first time that's it's happened.
