I´m trying to go into a site I´ve visited millions of times before, but now after resetting my iphone 4S I get this message:
"Safari can´t open page since to many redirections occurred"
I´ve tried to restart the phone, delete browsing history/caches but nothing happens..

Is anyone else intermittently getting a pop-up alert on their i4 Safari that states "Cannot Open Page Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found"?I only get this on 3G and not WiFi and it's intermittent but frequent enough to be a hassle. It's happening on a number of websites. I have erased my unit and restored and even erased my i4 and did a fresh setup and get the same results. If I try to open the same website in Opera, it opens fine. Five minutes later, the site will typically open up in Safari. My wife's 3GS with iOS4 does not seem to have this issue.Apps using 3G do not seem to have this intermittent issue, they never have a problem communicating. The only other issue I see is the Apps Store will intermittently come back with a "can't connect error". I have seen a few people post the same Safari issue on the Apple support forums but I am surprised to see no one here mentioning it, making me wonder if it's my phone or AT&T. I am on the 2 gig data plan since I added this phone as a new line vs. replacing my 3GS line (that line and phone are going to someone else).
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor the past couple of days, I keep getting the message that Safari cannot load a page when I click on links or try to do a search on my iPhone. My signal strength would be strong the whole time. And if I keep hitting reload, the page will usually eventually load, but it's taking a lot of time. I don't have the same problem with other apps that require a data connection. I've already tried rebooting the phone multiple times by pressing the home and power buttons simultaneously, but that hasn't solved the problem. I also cleared history, cookies, and data. I haven't tested it enough yet while I've been on a Wi-Fi connection since the past couple of days I've mostly been on 3G so not sure if it's a network issue although as I mentioned the signal strength appears very strong and if I launch other apps that use a network connection, they have no loading issues.

When my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.0.1) loads a new page in Safari it randomly sometimes does not register first touch if I try to scroll it. Afterwards everything is fine. Maybe page is still loading and lags somewhere in process.
Anybody experiencing the same thing?
I cannot scroll (horizontally) in a single line text box on a web page in Safari on my iPhone when the text is longer than the text box. I am pretty sure that I used to be able to do this (before iOS 8). I don't remember the last time I tried to do this. I used to touch and hold to bring up the magnifying glass and then when I would move the cursor to the beginning/end of the text box the text would scroll. Now when I try to move the cursor to the end of the text box nothing happens. If I try to move the cursor past the end of the text box the cursor actually moves outside of the text box where the text would be. If I then start typing the text jumps so the cursor is at the end of the text box. This doesn't seem to work to get back to the beginning of the text. Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving just upgraded to the iPhone 4 from a 3G, I'm so used to everything working so smoothly that I'm starting to expect I can use it more like a computer. So its slightly disappointing to see that there's an 8-pages-open-at-a-time limit in Safari. For example, I like to click a bunch of thread links on macrumors just to read them one by one, but now you can only have eight at a time before the first ones you clicked start disappearing. Don't get me wrong, on the 3G after 3 pages were open, it would either start to get very slow or just crash, so this is a huge improvement, I just thought that with the 512mb of RAM it would be a bit more capable now. Was this the same situation as it was before? (mainly on the 3GS I guess)

For some reason, if I click on a link in a Calendar invite on my iPhone4, it will not open Safari. If I hold down on the link, I get options to Open or Copy. I choose Open and nothing happens. I choose Copy and I can copy it, open Safari, Paste it and browsing to that site works.

View 3 Replies View RelatedPosted this in various places and have yet to receive an answer. Just got first BlackBerry, tried to view my homepage which is a myyahoo page. When I get to the SIGN IN screen, I can sometime type in the username, but it NEVER allows me to type in the PW, thus I cannot open the page.
The arrow cursor never changes to one that will allow to type in information. I called Verizon, I visited the Store, I posted on BlackBerry forums. No one at Verizon store (4) could get it to work, no responses on the forum. Is it a browser (either BB or Yahoo) problem and does anyone know of a way around it of it the new (so I hear) BB browser will fix this problem. I really want to like this phone, but if I am barred from viewing my homepage, it is going to be hard to do.

I'm trying to update to 4.0 with jailbreak using a custom cooked ipsw file with Snowbreeze 1.6.1 and keep getting error "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2)."
I've tried both DFU mode AND Recovery mode. I also remembered to remove Saurik's server ip in the hosts file. I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling iTunes and rebooting. I even removed WiFi Sync software thinking that might have affected it somehow. I've uninstalled my vs/firewall software. NOTHING seems to work.
