I have been told by genius that they can't do anything else to fix my issues until I restore my phone as new. I am actually keen to do this anyway as I have pretty much been copying from the original iphone. Now my main concern is finding a way of backing up my text message history storing that and then adding it to me newly restored iphone 4s.

I had to just restore my iPhone and just wondering if during the Restore Process(where only apple logo was on screen) if someone text messaged me, would it still of come through, after the Restore Process was finished? i just want to make sure i havent missed any messages.

I upgraded my iPhone to the newest version (5.1.1) I believe. iTunes backed my Phone up and once everything was completed, I restored it but all my stuff got deleted such as Photo's, Apps, Text Messages. Contacts came back after I logged in to my account.

I have a BB Curve 9300 which I back up completely (i.e.. all data) on a regular basis using the BB Desktop Software for my Mac.
Today (11 Jan 2012) I went to restore only 'Text Message' data from a back up I did on 9th Nov 2011.
On completion of the restore, 12 Text Messages we're restored to my device, but the actual message content is blank. I.e.. the messages appear showing the 'Sender' and the 'Date', but the actual message content is missing. The icon for the messages is the same 'green bubble with a pen' that appears with draft messages.
After using Backup and Restore before updating the software, I've found that I can't retrieve a lot of my text messages. Everything else has restored fine, and I've tried restoring with just the text messages box checked. This takes hours and hours and usually comes up with an error partway through, or it just doesn't complete. I have a lot of texts that I'd rather not lose.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have bought a new 5800 XM recently instead of my old 7610. I tried hard I think but unable to find a way to transfer my text messages from my 7610 to 5800 XM. How come I can manage this or is not there a way to achieve this issue.
* I own the final version of Nokia PC Suite and Ovi Suite by today. they even cannot install the Nokia PC Suite Support software into my old 7610.

My iphone was returned after going missing for months.. but my remote lock code applied using find my iphone at the time it went missing is not working to unlock the phone. The last back up is logged in the itunes preferences as a week before it went missing but Im worried if this includes all the text messages and call logs (which I need to recover VIP) or just music, photos, apps etc outlined in the iphone synching preferences.for example
1.can I just 'reset default settings' option in sync???
2.I hear there are technicians who can recover data, is this the only option for recovering call & text messages (that do not seem to be anywhere obvious to me in itunes.
3.If i put it in recovery mode and wipe the phone, will the iphone content (including messages) be restored from the back up that occured the week before it went missing which should cover the most important call info i need?

I recently backed up my Nokia 5130 XpressMusic to the memory card and now I am trying to restore it keeps telling me no space on the phone. I have lost my contacts & messages. Prior to restoring I had over 600 messages in my Inbox alone now my phone is not accommodating more than 30 messages total. I really need to retrieve my data and would love any help I can get.

When I send messages to an ordinary cell phone, they sometimes go through as photo messages even though I have not touched the camera icon next to the text window. When I intentionally send a photo message, my phone asks me if I want to take a new photo or use one from my camera roll. This question isn't asked when I type a normal text message, but it often is received as a photo message even though there is no photo.

The predictive text input method was turned on before, but now it is turned off and I want to turn it back on. All of the help instructions include steps and/or menu options that are not available on my phone. I have not found out how to search a particular thread yet.Anyway... is there a way to keep the iPhone's WiFi connected when locked? I get practically zero signal from ATT in my building so my phone's only communication is done over our wireless. Well, when my phone locks, the WiFi disconnects basically crippling the PUSH feature of Exchange email. It is spectacularly aggravating when emails dont show up on the phone within a few minutes of arriving in my Inbox and even more aggravating when I am not at my desk and an important email comes through. I have not found a way to do so, so I turn to the all knowing people here.

My iPhone 4 doesn't seem to be keeping a full charge. My phone never used to do this, and I'm not sure what's the cause of it. Every couple of nights or so, I'll plug my phone in to charge before I go to bed, generally the battery's down to 30% most of the time due to using it throughout the day for work and whatnot. Anyway, before I head to bed, I'll plug it in and turn it off. And when I'd wake up the next day, I'd unplug my phone and turn it back on, the battery would be at 100%, and it'd be good to go for the entire day.
But here lately, it hasn't been doing that. I'll plug my phone in before bed, turn it off, and when I wake up the next day to take it off the charger, it'll be at anywhere between 93-97%. And I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes it feels as though the battery's life goes down much faster when it's not at 100%, but maybe that's just my imagination or something. And when I keep my phone on the charger once I've turned it on, it'll get up to 100% after a while.
Like I mentioned before, this has only been a recent thing, and has started doing this maybe about a month or so ago. Needless to say, it's rather frustrating. It's not difficult to deal with, just a bother more than anything else.

My old iphone wasn't keeping a charge so we purchased a new one. Everything was moved off old phone to new iphone through itunes.
Then my brand new phone wouldn't keep a charge either. I took it into apple store today and ws told it was a software glitch. I told I need toload iphone as new instead of a move, but we don't know how to do that now thaat we ar home.

Just recently I have had some problems sending normal text messages..The problem is when I want to send a text I go to my contacts and try to send a sms message, but instead of opening up a conversation window I get taken straight to my recieved messages... I havent had a problem replying to messages after people have texted me, its iniating the converstation thats not working.

The only option when selecting them is to delete, which removes them from the conversation threads. It doesn't seem to be related to service, but to whether I am using the phone for any other purpose at the time.
2) When connected to a car BT system, shut off car, BT seems to go into a black hole. You can't reconnect, can't make a call (well, it makes a call, but you can't hear anything; can't play music, etc.). The only solution is reboot. This happens with multiple systems in different brands of auto, so not limited to one brnad.
hello, I just upgraded my phone to the .732. Everything went smoothly during the upgrade, ever since then I have been having trouble with receiving text messages and MMS messages. I have gone to 3 sites for free ringtones have sent the ring tones to my phone, I have not received anything. I also have setup google voice and I am not getting any text messages from people tht text my google voice number.

There have been numerous cases where I need the information someone sent me in those messages, but I can't seem to find them. Is there something wrong with how the phone is set up? Is this a memory thing? Is there a way to get those messages back, are they stored somewhere?
I cannot find a setting that allows me to keep my text messages from being broken into many individual messages. The same happens to messages I receive. A single message may be broken up into seven or eight individual messages, which most often are not even in the proper order when received, or sent. Most text messages on other phones are one block.

So my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..
