What is the original 'restrictions passcode"? My camera, Safari and other apps are gone and I have been trying different passcodes but it does not work!!I called AT&T and they told me to restore the Iphone through Itunes but they still could not tell me if there is a specific passcode for the Restrictions.

My grandson deleted Safari and camera from my iphone. When trying to restore the icons it deleted all my photos from phone. My iPhone 4 has lost Safari and camera. They just dropped off yesterday while I was going about the day using the phone as I normally do-not syncing, not adding or deleting apps, it was fully charged, etc. I did a restore from my MBP (all software up to date; up to date IOS). Everything looked good after the restore/sync. But, after I disconnected the iPhone those two apps disappeared again. This is weird. Syncing my wife's iPhone to the MBP works just fine.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCamera will display the button to take a photo, flash button and the button to swap camera views upside down and save the picture in the camera roll upside down even if i hold the phone sideways or vertical. Text messages will show up in landscape even holding the phone vertical also and safari wont switch out of landscape mode also. If i reboot the phone it all works perfect but then switches back to the problems after a few minutes.

I recently saw that the "Other" file on my iPhone 4 was getting past 3 gigs in size. I recalled reading recommendations here to do a restore on the phone to get this file back to a reasonable size, so I did that, and then after setting my iPhone completely back up, I synced it. The phone was showing me the "connect to iTunes" screen even after the restore was done and a sync had completed.
Now, all kinds of things are missing from my phone and did not show up after syncing (and multiple additional syncs)! All photos and videos are gone, all texting threads, all my alarms, my wallpaper settings, the organization of my apps/folders, my phone number "favorites"... AACK!! My songs and apps are there. I got my calendars and contacts back from iCloud, but so much other stuff is gone. I had given up on retrieving everything else, but now I feel compelled to ask for help. Am I wrong in expecting the restore & sync process to put my phone back to exactly it's condition at the time of a prior sync? How can I get all of these settings and data back? Is there a way I can sync from a specific date before I did the restore? I've never had these issues before.

My phone frequently returns a message "Error! Camera not Available!" when opening any application which uses a camera. This happens specially when the applicatons that scan barcodes are used ("AT&T Code Scanner", "OK Scan"), but not exclusively. Among the apps bringing the camera to a crash there are some of good reputation, like for example "Perfectly Clear". In the emergency mode the camera works OK.

The issue is the same as in this thread for Z1, however it disappoints me that the same happens in Z3 which is so much newer.

The support advised me to clear the data for the camera (Applications menu) and restart the phone. No dice, so they advised to reset the phone to factory defaults. I did it twice, due to after the first time I found exactly which apps caused the problem. It took me a day to restore everything to the original state .

Afterwards, the camera was stuck by "Perfectly Clear", a decent app written by a "Best programmer". I was depressed.

However, there is a solution: simply clearing all the apps running in the background (["three permanent keys in the bottom" | "two rectangles" | clear all], or [an icon with a green brush]). This works without a restart.
