Apr 13, 2010I have a nokia N86 still and went back to it today as i dropped X6 tuf cookie for me. Any way when I connect to the net I can get up most pages fine. However, when I need to choose another link on the same page it does not open or reverts back to homescreen.
If I google search something it gets the results but not everytime it will open link, eg today I opened my GSM Arena bookmark that opens fine went to the page after which was the awaited news of nokia releasing 3 phones today, that opens but when I go to open link on that same page it wont open, the phone goes blank or either back to homescreen.
I find the same with OVI and OVI can be horribly slow at times to could this be a factor? Also with yahoo mail the same I get my mail, it opens fine but if I go to open the url on the mail the same happens phone is up to date. As i said I've exhausted every other typical solution there is. Sometimes the message pops up unable to perform operation/packet data not available/forget what the other one is, I have full 3.5g coverage.

My wife has an iPhone which does this seamlessly (they call it "Tethering"). Went to the Telus store and the sales person claimed the Torch can do this but could not find the feature. I have spent 3 hours and cannot figure it out either.

Apr 2, 2010Next couple of months I'll be staying in a house with no Internet access, yep it does exist. But I'll be in a built up area so should be 3G, anyway so plan to teether that. I've been looking at the options and a tenner a month seems alright. But you only get 3GB for that. But just a bit of internet surfing, IM, etc would that probably be ok? I know its easy to underestimate what you use. But not sure I'll have that much time to use it at any rate as at work I'll obviously use their internet, it's only when I'm at the flat! Also anyone used the o2 service, any good? Easy to set up?

Mar 26, 2012Here is the setup, iPhone 4S, apple tv 2, on a gig LAN at home. DIR655 is the router. No Internet access at home though. I want fit be able to stream say crackle from my phone to the apple tv. As of now it's not working, since there is no internet access at home as soon as I join the network I'm cut off from any online access. No emails, browsing, or streaming videos. Now, I know that it's possible because it did it about two weeks ago, I was able to join the network at home and still browse and stream videos from the phone. And it does it briefly during a reboot of the router. It won't give the wifi bars on the header but it will give me an AirPlay icon and recognize the apple tv2.
Solutions which have been suggested and failed:
- Disabled the dns relay within the router settings.
- Changed the DNS servers to 4.2.2.2/3.

May 13, 2012My iPhone 4s is no longer accessing the internet, despite the fact that it is successfully connecting to my home wifi network. It was working up until late last week and seeing the new patch/update (which I downloaded and applied) thought it would fix it, unfortunately it didn't.
I have done a quick search through the regualr channels and googled to problem, and I didn't change anything to do with my network before it stopped working and obviously my computer and interent are still operational.

i have called on my network carrier and inputed the correct cellular data which was given to me, the APN, username and password haved been inputed correctly but no positive response is coming up. also troubleshooted manually but all to no avail.Â

Apr 21, 2012my iphone 4 (verizon) is connected to my home wifi but it's not working! when i go on Internet is says that it cannot connect, same with any other app that requires internet. it has the wifi symbol and everything. what's weird is that when i turn off my wifi (then 3g symbol replaces the wifi symbol) i am able to connect perfectly! i've tried all i can think of to fix this. restoring, rebooting, turning off and on again, forgetting my network then connecting to it again but nothing works!

Jun 25, 2014I own an iPhone 3GS, and have recently upgraded it to iOS 6.1.6. I was able to connect to Wi-Fi using a Netgear Cable Modem with WiFi capability. But the internet service provider upgraded this equipment, replacing it with an ARRIS Touchstone Data Gateway DG1670 cable modem with Wi-Fi capability. Unfortunately, I have discovered that I'm unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi, while using my iPhone 3GS, running iOS 6.1.6. I am completely able to connect my MacMini, a smart-TV, and an iPhone 5 to this ARRIS device with Wi-Fi. Â
I have contacted my internet service provider and they tell me that the problem is with my iPhone 3GS, not with their equipment. We very meticulously went through all the troubleshooting steps, but to no avail. I have also read all the Apple Knowledge Base articles here about configuring an iPhone 3GS properly, and I have also followed Apple Knowledge Base articles concerning optimal configuration of an internet modem with Wi-Fi capability. Â
I like my iPhone 3GS, it works well, but now I cannot sync it to iCloud, and now I must have Wi-Fi turned off to make it usable. I also understand that iOS 6.1.6 will be the last upgrade for the iPhone 3GS. If this is true, then I'm sadly disappointed with Apple's inability to keep up with technology.

Dec 6, 2011I recently deactivated my Blackberry Bold 9000 (v4.6.0.304 operating system) from AT&T since I ported my cell phone number to US Cellular who had better coverage in my region. I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."

May 3, 2010I have a Nokia E63 on 3, it reports its symbian software version as 200.21.012. My wireless router is a Netgear DG834PN. It has a WPA2-PSK key code set up, and my laptop works fine with the wireless. It is set up to use DHCP, has MAC address filtering turned OFF. The network is public (not set to hidden). If i try to connect my nokia E63 to the wireless then when i try to access the internet, it gives an error stating ' no gateway reply'. Power Saving is disabled. I have tried setting the IP address manually and still it gives the error. I have also tried re-setting the router, to no avail. The only way i got it to work was by disabling all security on the router (making it an open network) which, whilst this is fine for testing, i do not want to run it as an open network, it must run with WPA2-PSK security.

Jun 7, 2010I recently upgraded to a Blackberry Curve 8520 from T-Mobile. I am at my wits end. I have a $9.99 unlimited internet plan with T-Mobile. I have gone through several websites trying to find the APN settings to use with the Blackberry Curve. I have found several of them, but none of them seem to be working.
Can anyone out there tell how can I go about this? Honestly, I do not want to pay T-Mobile the $30.00 a month they are asking for access.
