I am on edge of 3G network at my home. Both are iPhone 4 are able to turn OFF 3G. If we leave 3G on it overirds our cell tower and our phones only get 1 bar or none so cannot use phone. If we turn 3G off, we receive full bars and great reception on our phones. I upgraded to the 4s and it doesn't allow me to turn off 3G - therefore I cannot use the cell phone - it completely shuts down the cell signal. What can be done? Apple does not give me any solutions. So I have recently downloaded the 'Find My Iphone' app from apple. Its an app which facilitates you to find your iphone if locally lost or track it so ou know where it is. One of the issues with these type of security features is they become irrelevant as if stolen the thief can simply decide to turn off the phone. At the moment you are able to turn off an iphone from the lock screen menu, i am wondering is there a way to disable this so that the iphone can only be turned off once i have got past the lock? i.e so the phone can only be switched off by the phone users authorisation?

I started using Gmail Exchange for my gmail account, its great however i lost the ability to "search emails on server" for example if "Rob" has sent me and email 2 days ago and still shows on my iPhone i can search for it, but if the email no longer sync with my iPhone and i need to hit "Search email on server" it doesnt find it, this feature was working with no problem when i was on imap, is it only me or is this feature broken on gmail exchange?

Each time I update the software on my iphone it stops sending text / imessages. Is there a way to ensure that this most basic of functions works whether the software updates or is the answer trawling through a bunch of 'troubleshooting' pages? the primary purposes of my phone are voice calls and text messages, it baffles me how this piece of equipment will regularly stop doing these things, seemingly at random. I'm hoping someone more inclined with iPhones than I would be able to present me with some options for jailbreaking my two iPhone 3GS's.
Here's my scenario:
iPhone 3GS #1 has 4.0.1 iOS. 05.13.04 bootrom. No SHA1 blobs.
iPhone 3GS #2 is brand new and right out of the box with no SIM inside it.
My goal is to ultimately jailbreak and unlock both, but there is so much information on the web and walkthroughs can be misleading. Delving through all of this information with all of the trial and error involved is quite tedious. If anyone knowledgeable on the forums would be able to share with me what ever would be the most painless way to jailbreak both of these devices, I would extremely appreciate it!
I am also running Mac OS 10.6.4 and iTunes ver. 10.

Ok so i noticed on the internet there are jailbreaks that you pay for.These all say they work with 3.1.3 on the new bootrom for a 3GS. Is this correct? They looklike established companys and I dont see how they would get away with lying. Any help would be appreciated.

Everything went great but my 3GS doesn't have 3G data or MMS available. I've seen other with this problem but no solution.I'd like to just restore and start over- but when I try to restore in iTunes I get errors when it checks on Apple's servers.
