May 28, 2012A fried has given me his iPhone (4 I think, he's not sure). He turned it off and now will not restart. I've tried the power + home button for 10 seconds = nothing.

Homescreen shows briefly, then back to IOS 5.1 intro.Have tried restart, reset, restore, and restore from recovery mode. iPhone worked fine before.

Mar 30, 2012im having difficulty with this iphone 4s. It wont startup successfully. it only hangs up until the APPLE sign appears with black background and nothing happens after. I tried simultaneously holding the sleep wake button and the home button yet still the same, nothings happen. I tried connecting iphone with itunes but an error occured stating " itunes could not connect to the ipjone because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your passcode on the iphone before it can be ujsed with itune", but how can i put the passcode if the phone wont start until it requires passcode?
