IPhone :: It Disappears From Itunes After Wifi Sync
Apr 5, 2012
I've been struggeling to get wifi sync to work correctly with my iphone 4. I have the newest version of itunes on a Windows 7 PC. When I first open itunes it sees my iphone over wifi and syncs successfully. A couple minutes after syncing completes, itunes loses my iphone. My iphone still shows up under devices, but if I click on any of the tabs in the device it then brings up the dialog box searching for the phone, then it tells me it cannot find it and it disappears from devices. If I close itunes and reopen it the iphone shows up again and syncs
So far in my quest to make this work I have opened ports 5354 and 27015 for inbound TCP. I have also set the Bonjour and Apple Mobile Device services to Automatic Delayed Start as mentioned in other threads.
I'm not sure when this started but I've been putting up with it for a while. Most of the time when my iPhone 4s (iOS 5.1) syncs with iTunes (always running the latest version on Win 7) either via USB or WiFi, the songs I didn't purchase from the iTunes store (i.e. ripped) disappear from my iPhone. I have to then uncheck the box to sync music in iTunes and then recheck it so it copies all 2500+ songs back to the iPhone. I probably have to do this 2 times a week and would turn off syncing if I didn't have a need, but I do need it. This happens far more often on USB than WiFi but it's driving me crazy. While working with Apple support to troubleshoot another issue, I completely removed and reinstalled all Apple software and reset content and settings on my iPhone in the past 3-4 months.
I have been syncing my iphone 4s by wi-fi for ages but now it does not show up in the devies list so you can't sync unless I attach the cable. The sync over wi-fi button is ticked my phone/itunes and bonjour software are all up to date and installed but it just does not show in the devices with out the cable. Phone is connect to the wi-fi and working
I am using an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.2 and a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.9.4.My iTunes is 11.3.1 - 64 bit..My iTunes cannot seem to detect my iPhone when the latter is in the vicinity via wi fi.However I can connect and sync via the USB cable thus some recent posts that I've read on this message board regarding how Apple has apparently completely obliterated USB and wifi sync (they have allegedly made syncing possible ONLY through iCloud) is not true, at least not on my setup.Â
I've restarted my computer and iTunes but to no avail. I will now restart my phone but I'm not sure that will solve this issue. I have noticed this happening before and on all earlier occasions, deselecting then selecting the 'Sync via wifi' option in iTunes has solved the problem. Alas, this is not the case this time around.Â
Earlier I had a synced an iphone4 to mac A using a apple id X. Afterwards I shifted to mac B with apple id Y. I downloaded all the apps for account Y as well. NowI wanted to check out wifi sync option so I chose the wifi sync option while syncing. When I am using wifi for iphone it starts for sycning with both mac A having apple id X and mac B with apple id Y. How should I stop it for mac A?
So the other day, I had plugged my roughly 2 year old iPhone 3GS into my macbook pro to charge, when it suddenly had a strange crash and said it needed to be restored. It took several hours to finally restore after many -1 errors. Now however, it cannot start syncing so I cant go back to the way my iphone was before the restore. Also, I can't use wifi or iMessage - it says that my username or password must have changed when it hasn't at all, and the wifi option is just gray, I cant even open it in settings. Nothing seems to be working, except basic texting and calling.
I setup iPhones with the iphone config utility and after I do the users have my computer listed for syncing itunes in the wifi sync menu. How do you remove this
How can i see if my pictures are being sync to itunes when i just did is copy to itunes and not plugged my iphone to computer? is there a possibility that it will still sync? even if i don't plug my iphone to computer?
Itunes keeps locking up and giving me the error message "itunes was unable to load sync services" if I wait it will start working until I plug in my Iphone then it locks up for a while, once it starts working I try to sync my phone and that just keeps running ALL DAY! never finishes. This just started after the last Itunes update. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Itunes several times. Is it a Vista problem with Itunes? Should I upgrade to 7? Is there a fix? Am I the only one with this problem?
The sync with Itunes on my computer times out and will not finish. Everything was working well until I downloaded Star Walk. When I plug my Iphone into my computer it starts to copy the apps to my computer in itunes but it won't finish.
I just got my first iPhone! and I have tried everything to get it to sync with ITunes for the first time but each time it gets stuck o stage 2, at the beginning of the back up? What do I do?
When I plug my phone into the computer, it recognizes iPhoto and wants to sync those. But no iPhone icon shows up in iTunes. Otherwise, what options do I have to sync my music into my new phone?
Recently got the iPhone 4s, it won't sync with iTunes! I plug it in and it gets to stage 2 of 6 backing up, then freezes my iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes and my iphone software is up to date, I've tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes with windows with no success.
I purchase infinity blade 2 app for my iPhone 4 and do lots of in app purchase up to USD 38.73. Now I try iCloud backup for my new iPhone 4S 64GB Black unit but the iCloud backup is workless because it's says no backup available and ask me to use it as a new iPhone. Then I try iTunes Backup. It backup every single photo, apps, and device settings. But it doesn't sync my infinity blade 2 app. I try app sync up to ten times but the results are same and that is infinity blade 2 app failed to install. Now I'm so worried and sad because I scare I will loss all infinity blade 2 data and my in app purchase up to USD 38.73 it's a huge waste.

I currently have an iPhone4. had it for 18 months and no problems have occured with it, until now. In December my house was hit by lightening and my computer was fried, I lost my music, photos, itunes, everything. So after the lightening hit, i began to use my laptop as my sole music source, so everything I've donwloaded is now on this. But when I go to sync my iPhone, it doesn't register it and I can't sync it.
I reset my computer to factory settings and lost itunes. I did not back up itunes casue I thought I could just sync my iphone to itunes and everything from my phone would sync back to itunes. I cant figure out how to do that. I connected the phone and it tried to sync with an empty itunes account and would not take my info from iphone. Is it possible to be able to sync back?
im trying to sync my new iphone 4s to my itunes so i can sync my music from my library but when i insert the usb the iphone does not come up in the left column under devices like normal,
I have tried to sync my iPhone 4 with iTunes several times and consistently get the message that "iphone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start." I've got iOS 5.1 and iTunes 10.6.1. Searching this issue reveals only posts about conflicts between software betas in iTunes 10.5.
