Jan 28, 2011I have several Email accounts, setup on my Torch 9800. When I first set them up, one of them was inadvertently set as the "default" account. Can anyone please tell me, how I might change which Email account works as the "default"?

The prior gmail account I was using is beginning to be inundated with spam and it has got to go.After searching I've found this: go to home. Click grid. Click all apps. Click email. Enter a new email, pop etc. There is no option for anything of the sort and from that point the grid button doesn't do anything. This makes very little sense.Is my phone permanently associated with that gmail account? Can I drop it and add a new account or not?

When I am in that view and create a new message, my iphone will automatically select one of my accounts. It is unfortunately not the one I most often want to use. Jul 18, 2010IPhone 4 running 4.0.1. Happened on 4.0 as well. This is the second time this has happened. Look at the center email...anything look funny? It won't let me delete and eventually changes to a date in the year 2000 then randomly will go away. It just shows up on it's own. Email setup with default gmail account settings.

Oct 25, 2011I have searched hi and low so i assume there is no way to set the default DIFFERENTLY for each email account i have (i have three). i know how to set the default for the entire device (options, device settings, advanced, default) but that sets the default for all three of my accounts the same, which forces we to use the pull down to change it. is there no way to have a different default for each account?

Aug 12, 2012I have 2 email accounts but I predominantly use my Yahoo one. However, if I open my Yahoo emails on the Blackberry and select 'Compose email' it will automatically send my email from my 'Default email' which is my other email address. I can of course change the 'send from...' setting but I often forget which is annoying when the email has already gone. I have tried all ways to change the 'Default email' setting but I can't find out a way of doing this.

Aug 22, 2014Using an iPhone 5s, I took a photo and sent it to one of my contacts. I have several email accounts and the default one is my gmail account. When I selected the photo and chose to email it, the sending email account in the new email message was my gmail account. However, as soon as I selected the recipient, the sending email account changed to my outlook.com instead of the gmail one. I didn't realize this at the time so when I sent the photo, it sent using my outlook.com account instead of the gmail. I use the outlook.com account more for work related emails, so I don't want personal email messages to go through that account. I've been able to replicate this sending email account switching for this particular recipient both on my iPhone and on my iPad mini.Â
I've run into a similar situation when using Mac Mail on my MacBook - new emails are sent as from my Outlook.com account instead of the default gmail account. However, I've not been able to identify a particular reason for this. In the Mac Mail Preferences, Composing settings, I have selected to send new mail from my gmail account, not the account of the selected mailbox. This seems to be a recent development on both the MacBook and on my iOS devices. Both iOS devices are running version 7.1.2. The MacBook is on OSX 10.9.4.Â
Why would iOS mail change the sending email account based on the recipient, when sending a picture? It doesn't seem to consistently happen when just starting a new mail message from within the mail app. Why would this happen for just some recipients (so far I've just identified one in particular, who is on a comcast.com email account). Why would MacMail on the MacBook send new mail from the outlook.com account when the default is gmail?

Nov 10, 2011I am trying to change my email settings as i changed my email account. When i go to "Setup", "Email Accounts", then click on "Internet Mail Account", it simply circulates back to "Email Accounts". It keeps doing this repeatedly. I have done a soft and hard reset (by removing battery) and have updated software but nothing seems to help.

Recently I had to change my email password on the computer, and it caused my blackberry to no longer be able to send or receive my emails.
