IPhone :: How Much Download Allowance Does The 4s Use Up When Used With The Tomtom Satnav App
May 14, 2012
using the iphone 4s as a satnav with live traffic service in the UK? I was thinking of using the tomtom app, but how much download does this get through?
The TomTom car kit is currently available only for the normal iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S. As iPhone 4G is a newer product from Apple, it has not been tested for the TomTom car kit. Hence we regret that we will not be able to comment on its compatibility with iPhone 4G as of now. However, we are getting a lot of requests from customers regarding the same query and we are in a process to release a iPhone 4G compatible version of TomTom car kit soon.

When you first use HD Traffic you set up a username (email address) and password. If you go to the "Traffic" menu in TomTom on a second phone and log in with those details it will work fine but inactivate HD Traffic on the first handset. AFAIK you can swap around as often as you like but it can only be operational on one phone at a time.
I received my iPhone last week and it came unlocked/jailbroken with TomTom V 1.0. I was really stoked since my other GPS unit was ripped off. Anyway later on in the evening I synced up the iPhone with iTunes and transferred over all my contacts, apps, etc. Everything appeared to transfer over. However when I looked in my Applications section in iTunes, I saw no TomTom. I at first thought that iTunes had deleted it but after looking at my iPhone, the icon was still there and the app worked just fine.
I see that there is a v 1.2 with nice improvements and I am getting no indicator of an update. Anyone know whats up. This is a bit annoying.
I am unable to update the TomTom Canada&US purchased in July 2011 for my iPhone 4. The update doesn't load, and I can no longer use the app which has become inactive.
i have recently switched from an expensive iphone contract down to a cheaper contract with a lumia 800 (for budget reasons). the main problem i will be facing is managing a small monthly allowance of data and wanted some advice.on my old contract i had 700mb a month which i regulary went over (despite having wifi at home) and this contract only has 250mb a month, quite a step down! my main qeustion is how much do you really get for 250mb? obviously having my people section linked with facebook and twitter etc would eat data when it updates so i don't have any of that setup. are there any standard apps that use data without you realizing that i should remove or turn off? how much browsing and perhaps Internet streaming you could get ut of 250mb?i have to make this work and change my ways of browsing the net out and about and needlessly watching videos on 3g as i can no longer afford not to.
I was just wandering how long should it take to get a gps fix on the n97 mini? because it seems to take me about 10mins when first opening the satnav app. also is there any charge whatsoever for using the satnav function? because when I use it orange charges me for a media msg but I havnt sent any media mesages. so I was just wansering if it could be the gps. thanks
using satnav standard what comes on phone.when i was on 2.35.satnav voice was loud enough.the phone was branded to orange.i debranded phone and upgraded to I9100XEULP5_XEU.england-ireland.the voice is very low.so decided to go back to 2.3.5.the voice is loud again.anyone know=i am going to try to upgrade again see what happens.will post and let you know
I know AmazeGPS, Nav4all, wisepilot, wayfinder etc. but they all have maps online. Are there satnav programs for java phones (Elm) with offline maps too? Or maybe via a hack?
I seem to be able to establish a Bluetooth connection from the Satio to the TomTom (Go 720) once as paired devices with a trusted connection, but the next time I try to connect it does not work. If I delete the TomTom connection from my Bluetooth devices in the Satio, then I can do it once more, putting in the code and authorizing the connection and it works for a while. After the TomTom has been switched off and the connection has been lost, the next time I switch on the TomTom I cannot connect. I never had this problem with my previous phone (Nokia) and the same TomTom device.
I am trying to download apps from the store and it wont let me download any app even free ones. It tells me to sign in and to check my billing information. I check it and my details are correct but it says there was a problem with the previous purchase. How do i sort this out?
I tried to upgrade to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1 but the download always shows error after 177 mb download, though I have backed up my content. What is the problem with the download?
When I got my 5800 I was incredibly unimpressed with pretty much every aspect of it. Utter rubbish.I went online and checked out Nokia's Ovi store and there were about 3 apps there, none of which any good.
Thought I'd use Ovi again today. I couldn't remember what password I used so I went through the password retrival service on my phone. To do this you need to type in some letters displayed onscreen. Only the image doesn't work. On Nokia's phone, running Nokia's app, Nokia's password retrieval is impossible. This typifies everything about Nokia - unwieldy and clunky solutions that fail at every step. Nothing is straightforward or simple to use.
Finally logged on (after going on my PC). Logged on via my phone, went to download an App and "Cannot download due to an error".
I am trying to download version 7 for opera mini to download but each time i try to download it off my phone using wifi halfway through the download it says error and stops any idea why ? and when i transfer the files to my phone from pc to install it
I have been waiting for TWO DAYS for the stupid iOS 4.2 update to download in iTunes, and I keep getting either disconnected or it kicks me off! Is there another way I get the update? My daughter just got a new iPhone 4S, and I found out that she never updated her old 3G (which is now mine). At 1.6MB/sec it's alright, but after about 100MB the download rate goes to 2.1kb/sec! And that is just unacceptable!
my i phone 3g doesn't do synec and i can't download anything in it because its shows erorr . my i phone version is 4.2.1 so please help me how can i fix my i phone .
