Jul 4, 2012so my iPhone has started reporting it cannot complete the sync because 'A duplicate file name has been specified'. I know there was an iTunes 9.2 issue with iToner but I've never had that plug-in and it's certainly not present at the moment. I've tired syncing both with notes and without notes. The proplem persists. Interestingly when I turn off syncing photos my sync is fine.When I sync photos from the 'Pictures' folder (I'm a Mac user) it syncs fine.However as soon as I opt to sync ANY project from Aperture the sync fails claiming there is a dupicate file name.

Sep 12, 2014I have noticed that, after syncing, many of the songs on my phone have about 55 duplicates. None of these duplicates are on iTunes, and they don't appear in any of my playlists or albums, just in the Songs category on my phone. Instead of having around 1800 songs, I end up with 21 or 22,000 songs, mostly duplicates. I don't use iTunes Match or the Cloud. I can delete these duplicates, but there are way too many to do it manually, and they still appear in grey when I delete them. This is making the iTunes on my phone very slow.

Oct 24, 2010I got some kind of problem with duplicate even triplicate contacts on the pc when i log into SE sync so i press the button on screen to merge contacts and it just says there are no duplicates to merge but they are there I can see them. And when I syn with my phone the contacts list of the phone is totally different to my contacts list on the SE contacts sync on the pc, like in the list on the PC there could be 3 contacts but on the phone there is just 1 - yet after the sync it says sync was succesful I just dont get it.

I really like this feature because my 9700 will always have an updated list of contacts.But since I did a device switch, I had to register the email account on my phone again. Now I see 2 contact lists associated with my email account. For example, my gmail has 200 contacts, so on my BB i see 400 contacts all duplicated. If go into Contacts Options -> Contact Lists, I see the same gmail account twice. There is no option to delete one.
(This is only for contacts, as far as email setup, I only see my 1 email account setup)I dont mind just deleting all the contacts on my BB and then resync again, but I can't seem to find a way to delete all the contacts on my phone.

Aug 6, 2010I have the latest version of OVI on my PC which I use to SYNC CONTACTS. Problem is it DUPLICATES the contacts on my NOKIA 5230 even if I DELETE all the contacts listed on the PC OVI list. My understanding of SYNCing is that the PC and the NOKIA should have the same information. Either the SYNC is not working or there is a setting somewhere that needs to be changed? MY NOKIA is showing over 500 contacts when it should be half. Manual deletions to remove all the duplicates is a long job and the SYNC process always returns it back to over 500.I have set my NIKA to save all contact to the Phone Memory (not the SIM). Any ideas of to avoid and remove the DUPLICATES.

Aug 11, 2011I have just synced my new blackberry bold 9780 with my pc via the desktop software.The first time it synced no problem as all but I now have duplicate contacts for both email address's and now it wont sync at all. Comes up with an error saying yahoo server is temporary unavailable.This happened with my old blackberry too and I never did manage to get it solved as Vodafone was saying its Yahoo problem and yahoo was saying it was a vodafone problem.

Mar 19, 2010I went to a different time zone last month and of course changed my clock on my Curve 8520 to that zone (6 hours ahead of my home zone EST). Of course when I returned I changed back. Since then every time I sync to my computer the zone changes to a different time (7 hours behind my zone). Also now after a sync when I click on the clock icon it shows 2 analog clocks. One large one with the new wrong time and a small one to the left showing the correct time. After I reset the time I get only one large analog clock showing the correct time until I resync again.I have checked and rechecked the settings. I have changed the date/time source setting from 'Blackberry' Network Time to 'Network' Time and this does not make any difference. I've pulled the battery. I've reset the sync maagement options.What a pain having to change the time every time I sync. I've called my service provider (rogers) and they went through the same steps I have already tried.

Mar 20, 2012Every time I try to sync my iPhone, whether it's with the usb cable or over wifi, it gets stuck at 'step 7 of 7, waiting for items to copy'. Generally it waits there for about 15 minutes and then starts copying thousands of tracks. There's no apparant problem with the music that it's trying to copy to the phone & it's not doing it with the entire library. I know it's not a major problem, but an action that used to take a few minutes at most, has started to take up to an hour.

Apr 15, 2012I just got my iPhone replaced because of a glitch. I took it into the Apple Store, and they replaced it with a brand new one. Before I sent the old one in, I synced my old one to my iTunes on my computer. When i got home from getting the new one, I plugged my new one in and it said I needed to "update the phone with the latest iOs 5.1 in order to Sync" So, I updated the phone, and went to Sync it, and all of my contacts showed up, but unfortunately, none of my Photos and Messages that were previously synced appeared. How to I find these photos and messages?

Mar 28, 2012This is seriously frustrating and I understand where apple are coming from with the whole 'what if someone steals it from you' but to be fair this is quite badly thought out. Laptop's have a life of about 3/4 years and unfortuantly mine has 'kicked the bucket'. I need to get the pictures off of my phone with out sending all 1,000 odd to other people and spending all the mms costs. May 7, 2012I took some photos with my new 4s. Then,when I connected Iphone on PC asked if I wanted to start as a new phone or old.I choose my old account.
