IPhone :: Does Not Maintain Network Connection After Blacksnow?
May 31, 2010
I originally unlocked the phone so i can use it overseas while I was there, the connection was fine and had full signal most of the time. Since my return, my AT&T sim card is not maintaining its network connection, it will display 3g, I would try and go surf the internet, it wouldn't connect and it will go blank (like no service mode) for a few seconds and 3g comes back up. I had to reset my network a few times for the iphone to pick up internet connection. I'm on 3.1.2 with 5.11 modem and old bootrom 3GS. Anyone else is having this issue and how did you solve it? I'm deciding to reflash the phone with 3.1.2 without the unlock to see if this solves the issue, if it does then that means blacksn0w is the crippler that is crippling my AT&T network.
I just started having problems with my tilt in that it can't maintain a 3G connection. On EDGE/GSM it works just fine but as soon as I get in range of a 3G tower it connects for a few seconds and then boots me off the network completely. It then searches for a while, finds the signal again, and the cycle starts over. I've tried a few different sim cards to no avail. Is this something in the software or is my phone an expensive paperweight now?
I have sony xperia x10 and android 2.1.I have always suffered with the wifi bug, when I have a low signal (2g only) I am unable to maintain a wifi connection. It attempts to connect then disconnect. I have checked and double checked this with security, mac address filter, wifi signal channel and even changed router.
Yesterday my cell service dropped has it has been doing every once in a while lately except that this time around I had to reboot the my iphone unlocked 3gs (3.1.3) for it to come back. Today it did it again, I rebooted, the service never came back and my wifi went away.
I used to have the wifi problem before so I uninstalled blacksn0w and it came back. How ever, even after several attempts at reinstalling blacksn0w and several reboots in between, my cell service is gone for good.
Any advice? This has never happened to me before, I am ready to unjailbreak and start all over again, but I would rather not.
Also, every time I install blacksn0w now the phone says " Searching..." and my wifi stops working. It is also worth noting that I have not installed anything new at all on my phone lately.
i unlocked a 3.1.2 iphone 3G using blacksn0w but theres no camera button on the sms screen so i can send an MMS. i went to settings>messages but theres not even an option to turn on MMS messaging. ive searched through a number of threads but all seem to say something different about what to do. there appears to be a general consensus about downloading a package from cydia but i did a search on cydia, and it turned up many different options/packages.would anyone have any advice? thanks in advance for any help
I purchased an iphone over kijiji locked to rogers and jailbroken to 3.1.2. During my days of owning it i found that the signal would drop randomly to 0 bars and proceed to "searching" to look for a network.. Ive looked this issue up plentiful over these forums and found that blacksnow seemed to be the culprit. After going through cydia i found that blacksnow was installed so i uninstalled it. I thought the problem was solved but a couple of minutes later after using apps that use 3g the connection dropped again. I dont know how this phone was jailbroken. its the 3gs with the old bootrom. ive never had this issue with my 3g phone. I restored again using redsnow and still same problems.
I have tried to update my iphone4 to 5.1.1 and it aways come up with the same message. There was a problem downloading the softwart for the iphone. The network connection timed out. what do i need to do?
this past week for whatever reason my phone stopped connecting to the edge network and needless to say it sucks not being able to get on the internet on my phone.jailbroke 3.1.2 3gs with black rain. worked fine for over a month no problem and i didnt change anything when i lost internet access.could this be an issue with the jailbreak or is this something i should call att about?
I have an iPhone 3G that was working fine until a couple of weeks ago but now the Wi-Fi Network connection does not work with my Internet at home and presumeably also with other open Networks (say at the Cafes, Coaches etc.).
Our new iPhones keep dropping the home network connection. The signal icon is there and settings shows we're connected but we need to turn Wi-Fi off and on to re-establish a connection.
I just added a new iPad to my itunes account and since then my text messaging has gone crazy! We have 2 iphones, 3 ipads and 2 ipods all on one itunes account. When I text my husband, the message sometimes goes to him, but also goes to my son's ipod and other son's ipad. I sometimes recieve texts from my husband's cell number and other times it shows up as my own cell number. Tonight I was texting my sister-in-law and our conversation came across on my husband's phone, and my sister in law said the text came through from an email address instead of my cell number. Please let me know how to fix this!
It keeps saying that my network connection is not working? But my internet it working I have tried different places and it still won't work I don't under stand
So I'm having a few problems with my iPhone. About 30 hours ago, I dropped my phone into a full sink. It was immersed for probably one or two seconds. I made the mistake of trying to turn it on right away, and it started spazzing - i.e. the startup apple icon screen would come on repeatedly and for a while the screen was flickering.
I looked online and followed people's advice of turning it off, letting the battery die, and leaving it in a cool place to dry. Since this morning the phone has been in a bag of rice drying off. I tried plugging it in tonight (impatiently) and to my delight the phone revived itself after charging for about half an hour. I synced it with my iTunes and sent one or two texts with no problems. But almost immediately my signal went down to no bars and I lost 3G connection.
Since then, it was displaying "Searching..." at the top of the screen, and got bursts of connection enough to receive two texts. Literally I would turn my phone on and all the bars would be there, along with 3G, then within a few seconds no bars again. For the last while it's just said "No Service."
I tried resetting the network settings to no avail, took the sim card out and cleaned it lightly with an eraser, nothing. When I go to "Carrier" under settings, it "searches" for, then finds (after a few minutes), my wireless network, but as soon as I leave the page my connection disappears again.
My question is- does anyone know if water damage can cause this particular kind of problem? Even though my phone is working perfectly otherwise (besides a somewhat mottled, water-spotted screen), is it possible that something within the phone was damaged that will not allow me to get a connection? Or could it be the sim card that is damaged?
since i have updated to 5.1.1 on my 4s, the phone does not auto connect to my wi fi when im at home. In fact its doing my head in when i use face time, put phone down and 20 mins later asks me to re connect to wifi for face time i looked into my settings for wifi and can see the " forgot network " option as well has disappered since the update? on my ipad 3, at top says forgot this network heres the settings:
I seem to have lost connection with the BlacBerry network for the last 24 hours - I can't access BlackBerry App World and get the following a message: no data service operational. BBM is working on and off ans slow. When I check Service Status I notice that BlackBerry Internet service is not connected nor is the Blackberry Enterprise Server.
I have tried to update my software through my desktop but get the following message: BlackBerry Deskstop Software failed to validate your Blackberry device udate - Validation failed because the module marked for add (net_rim_rimsecuridlib) failed the checksum
Just got my shiny new LG G3 and reasonably happy with it. One issue I cant quite seem to resolve is that when the phone rings, the first ring is loud, then the volume drops. Not good when outside or in my pocket. Is there any way to maintain the volume at the higher level?
I have Xperia Z2 D603 which I dropped and the back of it got cracked and now I have issues of network, my phone can't last even 10 min without losing the signal, and when I do have signal it is only 1 bar or 2 in the centre of city. I want to know if replacing the back of the phone will fix the issue or I have to replace exact thing.
It's happened before..But then I factory resetted my phone and it seemed alright for a couple of months but it then started back again today.Suddenly at some places I lose network signal (i.e. from my provider) and obviously it should come back when I go somewhere or whatever. But this time it won't even connect. I've shut down my phone, taken out the battery, taken out the SIM card..EVERYTHING. And I just can't seem to connect back to my network provider. (This isn't WI-FI I'm talking about - just basic network. I can't recieve texts, or anything - and everyone one in my house's network is working perfectly fine!)My phone runs on the original launcher and I only have a couple of apps on it (i.e. just normal whatsapp etc. - NO GAMES)It has about 500MB of free space on the SD Card too.
I have the X3-02 I cannot get the text settings from Vodafone and they say they cannot help. I have tried the settings on the Vodafone forums, nothing.
I need to be able to take photos for work, but it is also requisite to keep them arranged in specific folders so I know what they are and can be coalated at the end of the day.
1. Within the BB pc software I cant see how to view picture according to thiere respective folders. Also, how do you "multiple select" photos?
2. Accessing the BB filesystem throuh windows (J:homeuserpictures), i can only see one folder even though i have ten, in addition to the Wallpaper folder. I desperatly need to find a wokflow to get thiese pics off within thier proper folders on a daily basis.
On the new phone Nokia 2700 classic (after official upgrade to firmware ver. 09.95) periodically disappears icon of a signal of a network, after a while phone show the message "Error of registration of a sim card" and an inscription "there is no service" on the screen. After disappearance of the indicator of a network it is impossible to make a call and to fulfil USSD-inquiry, while on other phone (other brand) with a SIM-card of the same operator the network works absolutely normally. The network appears only after device reboot, hand-held search of a network does not help even. Network miss is often observed at attempt to be connected to EDGE, also the signal can disappear and itself, without what or my operations, in a standby mode. Replacement of a SIM-card has not given any result. Phone works in a range 1800 MHz.
Whenever I reboot my 8330 (battery pull or alt+shift+del), it always comes back up with the data connection off, and i have to go Manage Connections and turn it on. Every time, without fail. I can't find a setting for this. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
