IPhone :: Computer And ITunes - Slide For Emergency
Aug 11, 2010
I have just got my iphone 4 30 minutes ago and put in the sim card, connected it to the computer via the cable and on the screen i am faced with a picture of itunes, and a usb cable with an arrow pointing to the itunes. below are the words: "slide for emergency". The problem is: itunes won't detect my iphone 4.
I would like to copy all my contacts from my phone on to a computer so that I can open them on outlook and excel.
I have the USB cable, I also have the latest Nokia PC Suite Software. However, when It tries and copies the contacts it states refreshing of contacts failed?
i am stuck in a tricky situation and would things first i know this is quite a frequently asked question as i have done a bit of searching on the net about it however could not not find anything that totaly matches myproblem, i have recently purchased a brand new laptop which runs windows 7 compared to my old desktop which ran XP, i have tried syncing all of my iphone 4s contents onto my new laptop's itunes library including everything not just music or videos and i got the infamous pop up "The iphone is synced with another Itunes library. Do you want to erase this iphone and sync with this Itunes library" the problem is that my original itunes library does not exist no more as my desktop was completly wiped and had XP redownloaded onto it again because it had a virus, which also wiped all of my hard drive so i cant even get everything i backed up off of my phone from it, i have managed to sign in to the itunes store and allowed my laptop to work with itunes,i have also transferred my purchases from my phone to my new itunes library but this only includes my apps and obviously not my contacts and photos and everything, i still get the pop up if i go to sync my apps from my library anyway, is there any way i can delete my original itunes library without it even existing anymore so that i can just start afresh and sync everything i have on my phone now directly to my new itunes library? or do i need to purchase this iphone rip/backup/store software that everyone goes on about or something? to be honest its really annoying my now as i just want to be able to sync everything like how i used to,
I have tried syncing my phone to my computer before but it deleted any song and playlist that wasn't in the iTunes on my computer. I sometimes will buy a song on my phone and I don't want to have to look up every song I have bought on my phone to go through and download it on my computer. Also I would like to not have to recreate playlist on my computer.
After upgrading my Xperia Pro to ICS, my right to left slide on the unlock screen has been changed from Slide to Silent Mode to Slide to Camera. How can I revert this?
My computer died (this was my gaming pc btw) which had my iTunes on. Now I want to quickly set it up on my brothers pc while I wait for the parts to come for my new gaming rig. How would I go about this without losing all my music and videos and whatever else apple deems fine to delete? Btw this is so I can jailbreak my phone, I'm sick of all the restrictions, so no my phone isn't jailbroken if that makes a difference.
I had to replace my old computer with a new one and I downloaded the new itunes, but when I plugged in my Iphone and it sync'ed the two, it only transferred the purchased songs, not my long amount of playlists. How can I import all of the music i have on my ipod and iphone into itunes?
When I sync my 3GS with iTunes I get the message 'Some of the purchased items could not be transferred because not authorised for them on this computer'. So I go to 'store' and authorise my computer (HP PC running Windows7) and am told it is already authorised. How do I resolve this apparent conflict?
I recently updated to iTunes 10.6 and now iTunes and computer will not recognize iPhone. Tried going to a different computer (with 10.6) and it will not be recognized on it either. It will charge.Tried hard reset on phone. Tried un-installing and re-installing iTunes. Went to Device Manager...cannot find anything for Apple.
I'm trying to add some music to my iPhone4 and for some reason it's not being picked up through iTunes or in My Computer. The USB port is working fine and I have tried unplugging the phone, restarting it, updating software and various other troubleshooting techniques but nothing seems to work!
My iphone 4s stopped syncing with itunes a few days ago. It just suddenly stopped responding to my laptop. Or i mean, it charges but it cant be found in my computer nor itunes. I have removed all apple programs (itunes, quick time etc) and reinstalled, but this didn't solve the problem. I have also tried finding my iphone through the device manager but it shows ****. I have tried to fix this for four hours now and searched for manuals to how to fix this but nothing seems to help.
I recently got my iphone 4G S and when I connect it on computer. I cant see it in itunes I tried everything with restarting device reinstalling the itunes and usb fixing but I cant still see it in itunes. On other computers I can see it.
i cant authorize my itunes on my pc computer to the same id as my new iphone. I think i need to change email account on pc but cant find out how. everytime i try to sync my phone is does nothing or warns me the apps on phone will be deleted.
I added new music purchases on my iphone. it does not show up on my itunes library on computer. If I plug iphone into computer, will it sync new music on my computer?
The computer I originally used to sync my iPhone 4 to is out of commission, and I had to format the drive, and reinstall the OS. How can I tell iTunes to change the phone to a new computer? I want to upgrade to iOS 5, but I can't without losing all my apps and purchases.
i tried to update my iphone 4s to iOs 5.1 but an error occurred and then when i unplugged phone and plugged it again. the computer and itune couldn't read/find the phone. also i can't go on my phone becuz there is a picture that shows i must connect to itunes. which i already tried and i even uninstalled itunes and installed itunes again.
I recently lost my computer to a harddisk failure. Now when I plug my iPhone to my new computer, all the songs are greyed out in iTunes and i'm not allowed to play them. As all my music was on my now broken computer I no longer have the music, so I can't just add it again. The music is still on my iPhone so is there some way I can get around this issue and let iTunes play my music again or maybe a way of transfering the music from my iPhone to my computer without using iTunes?
I had to remove itunes from my computer several months ago. I have not tried to reinstall it since I need to restore my iphone. It installs properly but every time I go to start the program I get a message that is could not start do I want to notify microsoft. Any one ever seen this? I have installed and reinstalled, rebooted, even attempted to install an older version in itunes. Every time I get the same error. How can I install this so I can fix my iphone
I have just upgraded and got a new iphone 4s. When i plug it into the the computer the phone does not make the noise that it should (the same noise when you put it on charge) the computer does not recognise the phone as any form of device or driver, the computer doesnt even charge the iphone. I have opened itunes manually and tried to force connection this way but that didnt work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of itunes and can also confirm that the apple mobile support is installed, I even repaired it just to be sure.I have tried 3 different cables and 3 different USB ports but still nothing. What makes this even more frustrating is that the computer and itunes does recognise my partners iphone 4.
My iPhone is telling me to plug it into the itunes on my computer but when I do plug it in nothing happens apart from the sound which recognises that it is plugged into the computer and it starts to charge but stops after about 10 seconds, what can I do to stop this happening and to get the phone to syncronize to itunes?
My old PC died and I'm trying synch my Iphone to a PC that I haven't backed up to in many months and the contents of the the two don't match. My Iphone has everything I want on it. The PC wants to replace everything with its old backup when I turn on synch apps and music? Would like it if Itunes would treat this like a new phone and just back everything up, is there a way to get it to do this?
